Can't really say that I find this machine useful (or any other Coinstar machine). Personally, I'd rather take my spare change to my bank to cash in and/or deposit them into my account, rather than give the machine's owners 10% of my own money, especially since I don't know how the owners will be using their profit. However, I always enjoy finding money that had been left behind by other users (which, unfortunately, is usually only a few pennies or a dime).

If you choose a gift card to someplace like Amazon, there is no fee. So there is that. It is becoming harder and harder to find banks that won’t rip you off just as much for a coin counting machine, or who will actually take the coins. It used to be a function of banking. Now it is a fight. Azura charges its members to deposit coins. Many other institutions simply refuse to take them. Amazon gift card seems like a much better option than getting robbed by the bank, or turned down.

This is a coin counting machine. Total ripoff.. I STRONGLY recommend against using this thing; it charges a 10% fee. Probably better to go to a bank to cash in your coins. The only good thing about this machine is that I often find change left behind by others, sometimes up to (and over) a dollar.
