I really don’t know who can walk into this store and purchase anything. The conditions the animals live in are awful. The puppies are in tiny cages, selling for thousands of dollars. I urge you to question where these puppies are coming from, and what their daily care looks like. You keep buying, they keep breeding. Let alone a monkey in the middle of the store, that has been captive since 2013. Please don’t support this sad excuse for a “business”. This is not how you treat animals.

I dunno. Haven't actually been in for years, but the $5k puppies certainly scream puppy mill, but i don't know for certain on that. We have bought 2 pet rabbits for our kids, and one quickly died, the other nearly did, but after 3 days and nights where the very loving vet took him home overnight, giving him meds every 2 hours, he luckily lived.I dont remember how much that cost us, but there was no compensation, just an offer to replace, which we didn't bother with.Handy spot for quick supplies, but ill never buy pets there again...

Ok. The Pet Stop is one of my favorite places on the planet. The fish I've purchased have thrived. There's a monkey. Jungle sounds and snakes and tarantulas. You can touch a rabbit.. and there's a monkey. It's the best.

I found this place while trying to find my brand of dog food. I found the people there friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I cannot vouch for their animals that are for sale or their treatment - I can (and will) only go by my experience buying food for my Aussies. Yeah, they have a monkey in a cage. I find the caged monkey (though not ideal) not nearly as cruel as a bird in a cage. Oh, and I bet they have other animals caged as well since I wasn't tripping over puppies and snakes when I went in. Those were never mentioned by any reviews. If you have a problem with how you think they treat animals then make a call to the local inspectors. I would think they get inspected, and they have been around a while so they must be doing what needs done.

I am beyond grateful I purchased my Japanese chin (puppy) from Pet Stop. It was truly love at first sight. They made everything so easy, and ensure that pets will be well taken care of by the owners by including a 10-year pet warranty as long as you keep up on routine maintenance. They also offered a $100 in-store voucher/gift card to use on new puppy items. My dog was obviously well taken care of at Pet Stop, as he is properly crate trained and mostly potty trained (save for the very few excitement accidents in the first week). He is healthy and such a happy boy. The staff who helped me went above and beyond. We will definitely be back for many visits and just to say hi to our favorite pet store people! ?

The staff are always helpful. I love this store. However it is a little on the expensive end. Other than that I drive 30/35 mins to get here and it's worth it. If you are reading this, say hi to Frankie!

I love this pet store. So many pets that places like Petsmart and petco wouldn’t have. Definitely worth going even if it’s just to look around.

As my wife and two year old son moved through this pet store, I was educated on everything I was interested in. I really appreciate these guys. This was hands down my best experience in a pet store. And they have a monkey!

Pet Stop is my favorite pet store in the Kansas City area. The store has an extensive animal selection. I am most impressed by their birds, rats, freshwater fish, and reptiles. They oddly have a not-for-sale monkey in the middle of the store. The store allows you to interact with and hold the animals, which most stores won’t let you do. My only gripe is the store sells puppies kept in small kennels.

The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable about the pets I like that the pets are constantly being handled which makes it easier for the customer I also loved the variety of animals they carried if you are a dog lover the cuteness overload will definitely draw you in. Also Frankie the money in the middle of the store is pretty entertaining to watch
