A lot of nothing worth buying. A few select decent items they are so proud to have you may as well buy them new. Mostly high priced junk.

They had no power and I had to go to goodwill instead, only to realize they barely have anything in there. I'd rather shop this store without power than ever go to goodwill again. That's how much I like City thrift.

City Thrift offers a sprawling haven for treasure hunters and bargain seekers alike! From the second you walk in, you are greeted by a large sign with what's on sale- there's something different every day! The stores sheer size allows for a diverse array of items, from vintage clothing to home furnishings, and everything in between. The vintage pieces are curated and in a separate area of the store. While they are more expensive than the rest of the store, I've always found the prices were fair (everything in this section is typically $10-20) for a vintage piece. Each season, the store puts out holiday decor and the selection is second to none! With shelves and shelves of new and vintage decor, it's easy to find that one piece to complete your holiday setting. While the vintage section and the holiday decor sections are amazing, I often skip scouring the racks otherwise. The clothes often are pricey for a thrift store ($10 for a t shirt). Items still with tags on are often priced for $20. If you're a fan of thrifted board games like I am, this is not a place to visit- the board game section is a maze to get through in the back corner of the store. Overall, a great stop if you're in the area (there are many thrift stores on Shawnee Mission Parkway alone). Dedicated hunters will find unique items worth the hunt (and isn't that the fun in it anyway?)

The store itself is fine but the return policy is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard. No dressing rooms to try things on, and only one week to return items for something of the same exact value. Not your money back, not store credit for the future, something within the week for exactly the same price. I love thrifting for the sustainability aspect, but I am not going to spend money on already higher-priced clothes with no chance to know if it will fit and no chance to get my money back. Going to have to find somewhere else!

I came here not too long ago & found great values in jackets & fan gear. Highly recommend, plus has friendly staff at the front as well

So expensive now. There's nothing stopping me from getting these things new. $130 for a donated (free) dresser that needed work. Really? Also, they had an oracle sign for Halloween priced at $14.98 but I looked at the original TJ Maxx tag and it was $9.99. I regret not getting pictures. This is price gouging to the literal definition. This used to be a place I'd frequent often but it's gotten out of hand. Maybe the owner of this place could take a pay cut considering this is a non-profit organization.

Amazing items. Absurdly high prices. I once saw a brand new target item with its original price on it crossed out a a higher one writer on instead.

My biggest complaint about City Thrift overall, is that they mark some items with a "V" to designate "vintage". To be vintage, by definition, it should be over 50 years old. Clearly they are not using this definition. In calling it vintage, it will never be discounted. I personally put anything marked with a "V" back on the counter.

They have a great selection of evbreathing and I enjoy shopping there however it depends on the day. Whether you will get somebody friendly enough to go out of their way for you or not

Prices are laughable. In some cases, higher than retail. You will see the same items on the shelves for months or weeks because they’re priced too high, even after 25 or 50% off tag.

I have been going to this thrift store for years but tonight while I was there Diane(whom I found out was a manager) told my 13 year old daughter "Is this what you come here for to mess up stuff and take it off the hanger and leave it,I just fixed it!") Ummm Diane is so lucky I think WWJD before responding in 2023 I told her she better watch who she is talking too my kid didnt touch anything where she was nor did we go down that side of the isle at all also she seemed very angry and maybe even a racial thing since my daughter is mixed seemed a little to angry but this company is supposed to support a mission and to have Dian as a manager is very disappointing!! You should watch h how you speak to people's kids because the old me would have punched Dian in the mouth for speaking to my child that way and this company should be very disappointed and we will not being going back to this store in the future!!! Shawnee mission City Thrift is no good!!! Very sad!!! If I could give no stars I would!!!

This City Thrift location has always been my "go to" store even though the check out service is the worst in the city. Went there this past weekend and couldn't believe the prices! WOW! Crazy expensive!

used to be my favorite thrift store and i would come all the way from 2 hours away just to thrift shop. everything is very overpriced now. i wish negotiations were possible as i went in for a plain black shirt for work and the only one i found was 11.98 and did not have any tags that revealed a brand. the vintage section is very cool but a lot of the vintage items they put out are very trashed and covered in stains. and my final complaint is there are no dressing rooms now. it’s really annoying to try to thrift when the sizes of clothes may be different due to previous wear or you can’t notice damage to items like holes unless you try it on. i would give this a 2/5 star but decided to be generous because the staff is very polite and always make me smile. i really think the amazing workers are the thing that keep me coming back to this store despite it not being a good option for thrifting anymore.
