I was driving back to Canada and 2 miles out of my scheduled overnight in Salina Kansas, I experienced a sudden loss of power and more than a couple warning lights on the dash. I was able to nurse it to my hotel for the night.The next morning, the car ran fine, no lights on the dash, very mysterious. I went to Downtown Auto Service based on their Google reviews and was not disappointed. He was up front and said he couldn't do a repair for me that day, but he did scan the car, and gave me the trouble codes. He also phoned all over Salina looking for the part I needed, (no one had one in stock) and kept looking until he found a dealership with the part about 60 miles away. He provided some advice on how to deal with the issue if it happened again during my travels. Although I ended up not having any work done here, they went out of their way to help me out with pinpointing the problem, locating the part, and giving me advice which helped me decide my best course of action for repairs. From my dealings, I could tell this was a decent and honest guy and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this shop.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Were busy but they got me in sameday and I picked it up by 4. Didnt have to wait over the weekend to get back.Staff was friendly and even greeted me in parking lot.Inspected work and parts. Very professional, would definitely choose themAgain.Services: General repairs & maintenance

Had them look at my car the AC wasn't working...l knew it wouldn't be a cheap fix...they gave me all my options to try and save some money ? we came up with the least painful option and they had me squared away in no time... They even came and picked me up when I didn't have a ride down to the shop...top notch service and reasonable prices... will be bringing them all my business from now on!

Service is not only fast but affordable.brought in my cat to have new brakes put on and it only took 2 hours.haf my car back the same day I dropped it off.will definitely visit for future repairs and maintenance. Also my car is a luxury car.so if you have been struggling to find an auto shop to service your luxury vehicle I recommend them.

They are awesome! Got me right in fix my van plus something small that I didn't know was wrong. They did not charge me out the nose for doing it. In and out in 45 minutes. How many place do that without an appointment?

They replaced my catalytic converter and did so in a very timely fashion. He helped me with the pricing and figuring out options. They did the job and they did it RIGHT. My car has never sounded better!! 10/10 recommend!

First time using them and I experienced great, speedy service! Gave me options on the price and had it done within hours. Had something else come up that needed to be replaced and I still paid less for both plus labor than I would for replacing the main thing anywhere else. Highly recommend this place!

After my car sitting in another mechanics lot in a smaller town for over a month, and being told they had no idea what was wrong with it, downtown auto had the problem identified and fixed in under 24 hrs..... Beyond excellent service.
