  R. Designs, LLC and Kim Rice assisted me in selecting exterior house paint colors and new outdoor light fixtures. Kim did a terrific job - visiting the house multiple times, meeting with me and the painters, etc. She devoted significant time to the project. I love the new look for the house - and, notably, I have had multiple neighbors tell me how much they like the way the house now looks. I wholeheartedly recommend Kim.

  ReviewWe so enjoyed working with Kim. She helped us update our entire first floor including kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, family room, living room, dining room, front hall and game area. She listened very carefully to our goals for the project and coordinated all paint and fabric colors, flooring, rugs, furniture, lamps, window treatments, art work and decor. She was very responsive to questions, provided excellent recommendations, and kept us informed as the project moved forward. Overall, she exceeded our expectations. We love with the final product and would definitely hire her again for future projects.

  Been working with Kim for a couple years to re-furnish our first floor. She did a wonderful job matching woods, fabrics and colors with existing colors in the home and our original art piece. She found and arranged a unique 45 piece glass plate art arrangement that is stunning. Bedding she selected for the master and guest bedrooms are very luxurious. Her selection of custom curtains in the kitchen and the master really finish off the rooms. She is very creative in her choices and has been patient with us as we tend to sometimes need to take a minute to think about things because we don't have the vision like she does. It has been a fun and exciting journey with Kim and we would highly recommend her.

  Kim has been fantastic to work with. We were building a house from out of state with minimal knowledge of the area, people, and business. She helped us tremendously with every step. She was patient, knowledgeable, and had fantastic design skills. She decorated our entire home that we are delighted with. We are very thankful to have found Kim.

  Kim has done a great job with my condo and outside patio. She listens to what you want in style and color. She will give you several options to chose from for furniture style, color, drapes, carpet, etc. If you have a question about furniture arrival, contractors or anything Kim will get back to you right away with an answer.I highly recommend Kim for any design.Services: Room planning

  Kim did a fabulous job with several different projects for us. We started with a color consultation for the exterior and interior of our home and I couldn't be more happy with the colors! She also helped us with purchasing carpet for two bedrooms and the staircase which coordinated with the new paint and existing furniture. The carpet has been amazing. Very nice quality! We also put in new light fixtures over the kitchen bar and new sconces on the fireplace...I have received so many compliments and it's amazing what a different new lights came make! We also purchased new bedding (comforter and decorative pillows) for our master bedroom and I will say, I was a bit of a skeptic but I can tell you that I will never go back to typical bedding! The quality is exceptional, the bedding is made specific to the measurements of your bed and it is beautiful! Then we moved on to custom made drapes...I was a skeptic on this too but WOW what a difference. The curtains pulled together the artwork, new custom made bar stools and family room rug that Kim also helped us purchase. It has been over a year since we completed these different projects and I still love walking into my house and looking around! As you can tell, Kim is a full service decorating service and she is amazing at all the different aspects. Thank you Kim!!

  Long review!!Short version: DO NOT HIRE KIM!!I hired Kim initially for an interior paint color consult. I knew which color I loved but wanted a professional opinion on matching it to my trim and cabinets. She came over, told me the paint color I had chosen would look just fine and after chatting I hired her to help decorate my main level. Living room, dining room, breakfast nook, guest bdrm, master bdrm and turning a spare room into a closet. Her fee alone was 2k. She got her painters out to start and they initially painted the wrong color on day 1. They fixed it. She got me in touch with Amy at California closets for the bedroom/closet conversion. Amy was great! Her and I alone did my closet. Kim was never involved. Then Kim and I had our first decor meeting. She was on the right track but I didn’t love anything. Same with the second meeting. At this point I’d already purchased a sectional through West Elm but they kept pushing it out so I cancelled it. Since I didn’t love much of Kim’s options I only ordered an ottoman, area rug, sectional and mirrors from Kim. That was on 9/25. 3 wks later West Elm informs me the sectional wasn’t and couldn’t be cancelled! I immediately get with Kim to cancel the sectional order with her and she refuses. Says it’s already in production and I’d receive it around Christmas. I’m begging her for the manufacturer’s info, the order number so I could reach out but she wouldn’t help. At that time I tell her it’s not working out anyways and no longer need her services. I paid her 2k for literally 5 items! I’m able to get rid of the West Elm order and am patiently waiting for my sectional placed with Kim. Christmas passes, no word from her. I reach out and am told it’s now Feb. Still no communication and no sectional. Then it’s pushed to April. Mind you.. it was in production in OCTOBER. I finally get the other items. (That were overpriced and not worth it.) I gifted the ottoman and mirrors. I was going to work with the area rug, just waiting for the sectional! Kim finally gives me the manufacturer’s info later in April. I call and am told it didn’t start production until April 1st and could have been cancelled anytime before that and that Kim was aware of it!!! So she lied to me for 7 months. I finally get it delivered by Kim’s team in May with a huge stain! Kim says she will have it picked up and her upholstery company will put on a new piece of fabric that the manufacturer will send. Fine, at this point I’m out thousands of dollars. Sectional was 7k. I get it back from her upholstery company and it looks terrible! Pictures below. You can see the extra fabric around the edges. It’s very obvious it was altered. So now I’m having to start over and repurchase a new one. Also, the rug didn’t even match the sectional so that was gifted out as well! My whole experience was terrible and cost me THOUSANDS! FOR LITERALLY NOTHING! USE ANOTHER DESIGNER!!!!

  Kim delivered a beautiful master bathroom. This was a complete remodel and I was overwhelmed with all the decisions that had to be made. Kim led me thru the initial design options and guided me to a magnificent final design. She was very patient and took the time to step me thru the numerous decisions, and their related impacts to the budget and scheduling. This result would not have been possible without her coordinating the communication lines with the contractors and vendors, and her rapid responses to any concerns that I had during the process. Her attention to detail made a potentially difficult project into a great experience, and I whole-heartedly recommend her expertise in updating your home.Service: Refurbishment

  When I first spoke with Kim, I wasn’t sure if I needed a designer or even could afford one. Now on the back end of this project, I know that I would’ve been lost if I hadn’t had her.I know everyone thinks their project is the most important and the most complicated. But she has always made me feel like I was her most valuable client.She has never pushed me further than I needed to be pushed. But she knew when I needed a little prodding. She knew when to take charge when I became overwhelmed. She would handle as much as I wanted her to, but step back when she knew I needed to flex my own muscle.She always made excellent suggestions. Often times she would suggest something that I thought was crazy or way off base. After months of digging and trying to make my own decision, I would come back to exactly what she suggested. This happened over & over.What I learned was that if I had just trusted her from the beginning, my life would’ve been easier and this project would’ve been cheaper. In the long run, she still saved me money. She has all the right connections. She knows all the right people. She has never once steered me wrong.And the best part, is that I genuinely believe that I have made a lifelong friend in Kim.

She professionally managed the project with careful attention to detail from the start of the creative process, during installation and delivery, right through to the on-time completion. I believe one quality that sets her apart from other designers is her ability to really understand your needs while keeping your budget in mind to ensure you receive the best value possible and results you'll love.
