INCOMPETENT! UNRELIABLE! DISAPPOINTING! Any of these will describe this store.
The event I'm attending is 10/6/2024.
07/21/2024 was the day I ordered and was "measured" for a dinner jacket for a wedding. I made it clear how I desired the jacket to fit while I was being measured. Apparently, none of my requests were taken into account.
9/30/2024 I received notification that my jacket had arrived.
10/1/2024 I arrive at the store to try on my jacket. Thankfully, I asked to try it on because the salesman immediately wanted to send me out the door with the jacket after I gave him my reservation. I try on the jacket. Apparently, none of my requests were taken into account. Then, I suppose the manager stepped in to have me fitted properly and have a jacket ready for me the NEXT DAY. I made it clear how I desired the jacket to fit. He assured me it would.
10/2/24 No notification of my jacket's arrival, so I just stopped by the store to see if it had arrived. It did. I asked to try it on. AGAIN, IT WAS APPARENT THAT NONE OF MY REQUESTS WERE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT!
71 DAYS go by, only to give me the wrong order, twice, 4 days before the event I am attending!

I went into the store intending to buy a suit for a wedding coming up in a month, but my size wasn’t available. After waiting 15 minutes for help, I had my measurements taken and was told to order a 43 Short jacket. When the man went to order it, he said there were no 43s in stock EVER and suggested a 44 Regular instead, ASSURING me they could tailor it down to my size. He promised the suit would arrive in a week. And I paid the $220 for the suit that day.
Two weeks later, I called and found out both items had arrived, but no one had notified me. With only 1.5 weeks left to get it tailored, I drove to the store. A different employee helped me and told me to try on the suit. It was huge on me. The store clerk asked me why I had ordered such a large size. To which I responded with, “You guys told me to!” For the next few minutes I got marked for all the alterations I would need for the suit that was already way too big. The alteration that I really needed was a shortening of the jacket, the clerk instructed me that was never done in house and he didn’t know why I was told to buy a size too large.
I had already paid for the suit, and no refund was offered, so I had to pay an additional $80 for excessive alterations. After another week, I returned to try on the altered suit, but it was still too large. When I walked out of the dressing room, no one was around to check if it fit or to ask if I needed anything, so I just took the suit and left, feeling deceived and scammed by the whole experience.
So, now I have a $220 suit with $80 of alterations that doesn’t fit me still, all because I was told by the man who is supposed to know how tailoring and suit sizes work to purchase a size too big.
Most of the staff are incompetent and seem blind. They ignored me for most of my visits. I drove from Lawrence 3 separate times for this suit when I should’ve just skipped Joseph A Bank all together. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I came to Jos. A. Bank about the middle of August(2024). I came in for a suit as I was about to attend a wedding in September. My first initial experience was this place is great and the Assistant General Manager David helped me out tremendously! I had to grab my suit after alterations 2 weeks from the middle of August and after I grabbed it,I tried it on. The pants were fine but the suit jacket was insanely too large to scale with the size of the pants. I brought it back after trying it on, and it was pretty hard getting the attention of some of the staff. Maybe because I’m young or I just don’t look like I have the money to purchase a suit from their establishment… anyways they took it back and said they were going to alter it yet again. After an additional two weeks I received my suit and still the jacket isn’t up to standard. I figured I’d cut all of my losses and just leave and go some where else, 1.a place that will tailor it in a timely manner and 2. Do it the correct way so I don’t have to waste time and money to just hope the suit will be correct this time. If anyone is reading this I highly recommend to go somewhere that will help you in promptly manner as well as a professional one!

I regret to say that my experience with this shop has been exceptionally disappointing. Despite multiple visits and significant patience on my part, the level of service provided has been consistently subpar and poor.
On three separate occasions, I found myself waiting extensively—20 to 30 minutes each time—before a salesperson was available to assist me, even though there were only two other customers in the whole shop. I even made eye contact with a few employees and raised my hand but none seemed to want to assist me. I stood around in plain sight and saw them walk to other customers
This persistent delay, combined with a lack of proactive service, speaks about fundamental issue with their customer service approach.
In one particularly frustrating instance, I tried on a suit and needed to discuss the fitting with a salesperson. However, the salesperson vanished for 20 minutes while the entire store was empty. Eventually, I decided to take the suit in its unsatisfactory condition and call it a day.
It took me around three months to receive the suit, and when it finally arrived, it was a disaster. The alterations were poorly done despite paying well above the market rate. Despite returning to the store multiple times to address these issues, the alterations were never properly corrected. The lack of resolution, coupled with the staff’s indifferent attitude, has been particularly frustrating.
Additionally, the staff exhibited a concerning level of rudeness and disrespect in their interactions. The tone and manner in which they addressed me were dismissive, creating an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere.
Overall, this shop’s service does not align with the quality one would expect, especially given the premium pricing. I would strongly advise potential customers to consider alternative options where their concerns are handled with the professionalism and respect they deserve.
P.S: Now I know why they have a low rating of 3.8

I recently lost quite a bit of weight. I was extremely excited to go shopping for my new wardrobe I needed a sport coat shirts and slacks I was hoping that Joesph Banks could get me some new clothes. After walking around and trying to get a lay of the store I had zero luck finding anything close to my size 52R the store associates didn’t seem interested in assisting me with anything. After about 20 minutes of searching I finally just left. I ended up and DXL on Quivera and walked out about an hour later after having a pretty woman experience and spending $1300 I have a new versatile wardrobe. I would not recommend JA Banks

Friendly enough staff, but excessive wait times due to available staff not being cross-trained to help with sizing/measurements and anything wedding party related. 1 of the 3 requested alterations was performed incorrectly. I again was met with an excessive wait time to even pick up the altered suit, so I ended up taking it elsewhere for revisional alterations.
Only used them due to being in a wedding party, so I didn't have high expectations but still an underwhelming experience.

Had an appointment scheduled three days in advance. No associate was available to check in with on the day of the appointment. The store was busy, but not a single person was available for questions by anyone other than who they were with. Once we flagged down an associate, he hurriedly shooed us off saying “yeah, I’ll get you someone, just shop around”. We wandered the store for about 20 minutes with no help. We’ve decided to go another route for our wedding suits. It’s a shame because we’ve heard good things about this company.

Great place overall!
I bought a suit jacket, dress shirt, and slacks from here, for $300-$350 months ago.
Yesterday, I came in and got another dress shirt and tie, but was having trouble finding the best pairing. David, the manager there, was kind enough to troubleshoot the problem with me and we were able to successfully find the best option. I complained about the price of the tie, but he was kind enough to give me a discount since I had a history of shopping at the store. Quick and efficient process.
They will continue to have my business in the near future!

Just had a fitting for my sons wedding. David was our host and he did an outstanding job. He was very personable and professional while making the entire event memorable for everyone involved.
I will definitely be going back for my future suit/tux rental and purchase needs. If you are in the market for attire for the modern man then look no further than Jos A. Bank and be sure to ask for David.

It was SO hard to find the right suit shop for our wedding. We went to a couple of other shops first and had pretty terrible experiences. As soon as we walked into here, I could immediately tell it was the right place. Alex helped us out and brought a wealth of knowledge to each suit we tried on. He was incredibly patient with us as we debated over the right style, fit, size, etc. The whole experience was exactly what I was hoping for. The suit we chose did end up having to be altered, and when we came to pick it up, they were super busy. And although Alex was helping multiple people, he kindly checked in on us and made sure that we were happy with the alterations. Overall an amazing experience and I highly reccomend coming here to find a suit. And thank you again to Alex for all your help!

I think the guys name was Ivan that helped me. He seemed a little confused when I told him I had a lifetime store credit of $1000 that I could use to buy the clothes that I had picked out, but he shook it off pretty quickly and called his corporate offices and about five minutes later was able to complete my purchase with no issues. I would definitely recommend going here if you need men’s dress clothes. Sidenote, I bought two pairs of jeans and never knew how nice their jeans were. I’m super happy with them.
