I almost joined this gym and I'm SOOO glad I DIDN'T. I tried this gym out on a week pass mainly for the bball court/weight lifting. It was okay. However, I didn't think it was worth a 6 month commitment for ~100$ a month which was being pushed on me hard by the employee Dan. After a few phone calls, each time I reiterated to Dan I wasn't willing to pay that high of a rate, he got angry over the phone and basically told me if I can't afford $100 a month than this gym isn't for me. It was very rude and unprofessional. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS GYM. I ultimately decided to join the Genesis on 103rd by metcalf...they offered a much better rate, brand new bball court, the staff is very friendly & made me feel good about the whole process. ...Dan you were right this gym wasnt for me, thanks for the advice!

Don’t know how to feel quite yet, but I’m furthest from satisfied. Probably 5 years ago I would be okay, but now I’m just tolerating for the sake of working out

This is by far one of the nicest, cleanest gyms with great equipment, I’ve been too. They have a spa, several tennis courts, full court basketball, numerous treadmills and elliptical machines along with some high end lifting machines (benches, several squat racks, cable machines, several dumbbell and barbell racks). If you’re a local resident or in town, go check out this gym that has everything you need for your fitness journey!

Hello, my name is Carson. I review gyms in the Kansas City area. My main focus currently is Genesis health clubs locations. Today we will be looking at Genesis Health clubs – Overland Park.Starting off walking in there’s a very premium feel. The front desk workers are all dressed up wearing polos and the front entry area is kept very clean and looks extremely nice.As for the locker rooms, they are very clean themselves and very wide open as well. The showers and the toilet areas are clean and spacious. I was a big fan of the steam room as it seemed like it was not too busy however was still a quality steam room.Headed upstairs, my favorite part, I was struck by the fantastic set up of the weight training equipment and the cardio equipment. From a lifting perspective, there was a great variety in different machines and many unique machines but also the basic ones as well. It seemed like even during the busy hours it wasn’t a major problem to find a machine. However, during the slower hours your options were open. In terms of a cardio perspective, there was just about every machine that you can ask for.I was a big fan of the bathrooms located upstairs as this is something that most gyms do not have. The basketball court was on the second floor and it was pretty nice. I enjoyed my time watching some tennis while checking out their tennis court set up which is very impressive. I will also add that there is a full service bar , located above the tennis courts as wellAs for the pool area, it was decent there was only four lanes for swimming. But the hot tub was a good size. one thing I did not like though, is that the sauna was coed rather than each locker room having their own sauna. This caused the sauna to get extremely busy.Overall, this gym was fantastic. If there was one thing I would add it would be having towels located inside the locker rooms as I found myself multiple times already wet ready to change clothes but not having a towel although this isn’t a huge inconvenience it would definitely be nice to have.

It's nice, don't recommend to someone who's visiting KS/Overland they don't offer short term memberships.

Huge facility with plenty of equipment and area. I tried a 7 day pass and wanted to try out the 5:30 A.M. class. I showed up on Thursday morning and nobody was there. Asked the guy at the desk and he offered no information, fairly gruff and uncaring response. I used the gym the next Monday morning before work (6am- 7am) and had a positive experience doing chest independently. I called and asked if the Tuesday 5:30 am class was going to be held. Dan said he would text me or call me. I got no information so I called again in the evening and another guy also said he would call right back. nothing. So, unfortunately I won't be signing up with the gym. I was even ready to pay the hefty diamond level price and add my wife and kids for a total of~$190/month.

The reason for my review being 2/5 is price for the experience…Positives-Always cardio machines available-Includes a pool and hot tub-large and beautiful building-great equipment-basketball courtsCons-Staff is burnt out, and it shows-Sauna doesn’t stay hot, it’s also had numerous issues that seldom get addressed-showers often have poor water pressure-towels are not always readily available-parking is a nightmare at times-needs more free weights and squat racks-cleaning of the locker rooms is neglected
