Feel fortunate to have a hardware store with such friendly staff in rural Jefferson county. Always have what I'm looking for on those emergency projects. If I can't find it or figure it out, there's someone there who can.

They sold me a 14 ft 2x6 and then found out they don't actually carry 14 ft lumber. The kid offered me a 16 ft 2x6 and said he would cut 2 feet off. I asked him what he's going to do with the 2 feet and he said it would go in the scrap pile so I asked about just giving it to me. He said they can't do that. So I reasonably assumed I was just paying 12.99 for the 14 ft board I had already paid for. Went back inside and was told I owed 38.99 for the 16. I talked to the manager, the kid straight up lied to the manager about the whole thing. The manager didn't care what the true story was he just wanted his 38.99. He didn't care that their inventory shows 14 ft lumber and I was sold 14 ft lumber but they don't even carry it. I'm all about supporting local business but that was my last time at Waters Hardware. I had two other people witness the whole thing and they understood the same as me that I was paying for the 14 ft lumber that I was sold.
