I have a relative there now. Compassionate care in memory unit. It is a very clean facility. And most staff there a long long time. Communication also excellent

Both parents were admitted for care. One for rehab after hip fracture and the other for Respite/Hospice care. The facility was clean. All of the staff were extremely pleasant and efficient. Call lights were answered quickly. Mom liked all of the food except for 2 meals over a 5 week stay. They are under remodeling construction. The construction did NOT interfere with care. When my dad passed, the facility kind, gracious and compassionate.

Horrible care. Horrible meals. Cold hot dogs are not acceptable for price paid. Nurses don't care about the patients. Leave them lay in accidents for hours.why continue nursing if you hate it so bad.

From the time we entered the front door to the time Mom passed away, my Mom along with any who came to visit her treated all of us with sincere compassion and dignity. Mom had to be admitted to assisted living in another facility in Dec 2022 and after a few short weeks, we realized we needed to move Mom. Her care from that facility was shocking. But this review is about Villa. Everyone from the sweet girl at the front desk, to the Admissions team, to all the nursing staff, to the kitchen help, the Sisters, to the housekeeping and maintenance, plus all the volunteers who would take Mom to Daily Mass...were remarkable. The Mission at Villa was palpable and penetrated every inch of the facility. Mom received the best care possible I believe and there is no doubt those who are on staff at Villa are there to sincerely help those in need. Mom lasted there about a month and the last few hours she was moved to the Hospice hall to where we as a family were able to spend those last moments praying over her in a very peaceful, beautiful setting. Villa became a haven for me....we as family members received support also from all. As diffucult as it was and remains so today, we know that she did receive the best care the last month of her life. While I understand this is a very diffucult mission to accomplish in today's world, the demands are intense and the need is extensive. I tell all who I engage in conversation about this place, which I consider "heaven on earth" because people truly treat each other the way that they are supposed to be treated....whether it's easy or not....they do it there. I cannot thank all who made the last 30 days the best possible, and that we as family had peace about her care when we couldn't be at Mom's bedside....God bless you!

this place does not provide good care, do not put your loved ones here if you are passionate about infection control.

I am a vendor that has had the pleasure to visit this facility frequently. I find everyone to be pleasant, helpful, and the interactions I have observed between residents and staff is wonderful. I would definitely move a loved one into Villa St Francis!

So the doctor does not know what your residents pass from?? Can you tell me why we are not getting our questions answered from Jackie Hollis the COO who stated in an email that she would be getting back to me with all our concerns. I have that in my school email documented.I appreciate you meeting with our team today. We will be working on your follow up questions and prepare you a response, which I will send to you. We hope we can clear up any lingering questions or concerns that you or your family voiced in our meeting as quickly as possible. Also, as discussed I wanted to provide you with the email to send a formal request to Medical Records. She will review the page count and let you know the cost before she prepares it. It is our policy to provide the requested information to you within 2 business daysIn the meantime if you should need anything else please feel free to email me.I have done this and no response.I am adding to this post today, Nov. 30th, 2021 I guess I can assume that you are not going to answer our concerns. A place that proclaims faith and compassion can not reply to a family who paid almost $8000.00 for our beautiful mother who lived by her word. Sept. 18th to Oct 13th. Not even in your facility for a month. God Bless.. Maggie A. Collins

My husband spent five nights of respite care in this place and he died a week after coming home. I picked him up late in the evening in a state of neglect. I have tried contacting Villa of St Francis trying to find answers and no one seems to know anything and my phone calls are not being returned. I would not take your loved one here.

Our Mother passed away last Tuesday evening in the loving care of your facility, and with the compassionate hands of Shannon from Catholic Charities.First off, this transition for my Mom could not have gone any smoother, in my opinion, if it were not for the caring and compassionate hands that Shannon brought to Mom, and the rest of us. I am sure that none of us knew that this transition was coming as sudden as it did. It's my understanding that David was the gentleman who saw what was coming and called Shannon to assist Mom, and the family. God bless him! From the minute Shannon showed up she was hands-on. She explained, in detail, what her physical findings were and what was coming. Over the next couple of hours Shannon, and the rest of the staff on hand, made sure that Mother was comfortable and the family was well informed. This was the hardest thing I've had to endure in my adult life. Sitting next to my Mother and holding her hand while she took her last breath was excruciating, yet peaceful. It was sad, but knowing that Jesus, and the rest of her family and friends who have passed before, was waiting on the other side to show her the way to our Fathers house, has made this transition easier for me (though I still struggle with missing my Mom.)My wife and I would like to express our thanks to all of the staff who have taken care of my Mom over this past year, and would like for them to know that we, and the rest of Moms family, deeply appreciate the love, compassion, respect, and care that you all had shown my Mom. ( with special thanks going to Margaret, Big Mack, Mary, Jeanetta, David and certainly not least, Shannon)

Mom entered Villa St Francis on Sept 18th. She passed on Oct 13th from Covid. They left that off of death certificate until doctor amended it. Not sure doctor even knew she had covid. I could go on and on. She paid 7665.00 for a small space. Minimal requirements as stated by the COO, Jackie Hollis. They do not tell the truth. We were told in an email from COO that our concerns would be answered and as of now we have not heard anything, Their mission statement does not match up with their care and actions.

I haven't seen my mom in 2 years, in person. I saw her last month, outside because YET ANOTHER person/worker was diagnosed with Covid 19. I originally was supposed to see her in July, but the night before going to Olathe; I was informed that I couldn't see my mom because a worker had Covid 19, and they were on Lockdown. In August, at least I was able to SEE her, in person, FINALLY, outside. Unfortunately I was HORRIFIED by the look of my mother! Her hair looked crusted on her scalp, as if it hadn't been washed in months! She had a major stroke since moving to Villa St Francis around January 2021, so she can't do it HERSELF! Her fingernails AND toenails were so long they were cutting into her palms, and she had cuts on over her arms. Yes, she bruises easily, due to her meds, but this was different. They were dark yellow, very long, chipped, etc. She would be HORRIFIED if ANYONE saw her that way; back at home, where I live, especially her coworkers of 25 years! It's a town where most people know everyone else. I still get asked by strangers, how my Mom is doing, at the grocery store, etc. It was EXTREMELY shocking for ME to SEE my mother that way!! Especially after taking care of my Dad and her for 16 years! Does it cost extra to get the simple things done; like washing her hair or trimming her nails? How would YOU like it if YOUR mother was treated (actually NOT treated), that way?! OR YOU were treated that way? She can't communicate very well, so how is she supposed to ask for help? Or just the simple necessities of living, and to have decent hygiene? I gave 2 stars, because at least I was FINALLY able to SEE her, in person, after 2 years! She has been through a lot during this Pandemic, BEFORE she moved to Villa St Francis, but at least the other places helped with her simple hygiene. She has ONLY been at Villa St Francis for about 9 months, and THIS IS how she is treated? I thought putting my Mom in an Assisted Living Home would be helpful for her, while I was away going to MY OWN doctors appointments; apparently not. I lost trust and faith in human compassion for others; when I saw her! I did not say anything while I was there, because I wanted to have a POSITIVE experience with my Mother, after not seeing her for 2 years. Her Birthday was a week away also, and I wanted to have a good visit. I wanted my Mom to be happy and cared for, like I cared for her. I know EVERY hospital is overwhelmed, understaffed due to the Pandemic, but those 3 things are just BASIC hygiene! I didn't expect anything above and beyond; while I deal with my own MULTIPLE illnesses since I was 14 years old and my new ones; just expected the basic care of a human being of "ANY race and creed" and I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!

They do not take covid seriously until it’s too late. Not sure why you wouldn’t test a resident for covid if they’ve been coughing for several days. Do not put your loved ones here. Absolutely unacceptable.

They claim on the website they accept people regardless of their financial need yet they denied my mom because if “financial reasons”! They shut us down and would not discuss any other options! They became hateful and uninterested!!Sponsored by the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, Villa St. Francis Catholic nursing home provides long term care, short term rehabilitation, and skilled memory care to those in need, regardless of their financial means.

They denied my mom for financial reasons even though their website clearly states that is not a factor in determining need! They cut her off without any explanation or opportunities for further options! It's not easy to be perfect all the time anywhere, ever. Villa St. Francis took very good care of my mother-in-law for 4 years while we were unable to provide her the care she required ourselves. The staff was attentive and my MIL felt comfortable and we felt comfortable with her in their care during the entire time she lived at Villa. We were there regularly (pre-COVID) and never had any concerns of the conditions or care. During COVID it was challenging not being able to visit, due to the many restrictions but the team did a good job with ensuring we could communicate with her daily as well as video chats. She passed away while in hospice and the nuns and hospice care were very kind and compassionate. We are not Catholic or religious and that didn't matter. We were able to spend her last days with her, even with the restrictions which meant a great deal to us and helped comfort and provide peace.
