To Jennifer Hufft if she ever decides to come back to her comment. First off, didn’t realize the rules changed for you where you don’t have to bring back a product to get a refund (most stores require it). They said they’d give you a refund if you brought it back, no clue if you have but if you did you got your money back so don’t know why you’re still whining. And wow a $20,000 garden shed! That’s quite a big garden shed, they have some nice ones on Amazon for 7-9k maybe you should try there! Or go to a regular box store. I’m only commenting because people like you are so irritating, acting entitled. Yes, the company is at fault because they did not provide an adequate product but you were offered a solution were you not? 2-3 stars is a more appropriate rating. I prefer to shop where people like you aren’t around anyway.

I purchased 10 rolls of sod last Sunday. The employees told me it was good and green.
I unloaded all of it myself and laid the first roll. Totally dead. I went ahead and laid all thinking if I watered it really well it would green up. One week later still dead. I took my receipt back to the store today and told them that I could take a picture of it. They said I would have to bring it back in for a refund. Are you kidding me! I am done with Sutherlands for anything. They missed an opportunity to sell me a $20,000 garden shed which is my next big purchase. You may pay more at a true garden center but their products are better and they stand behind them. Sorry Sutherland's, you've lost a customer.

Sutherlands has all your home improvement needs, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the restrooms are easy to find. The garden area is stocked with the most beautiful plants, shrubs, flowers, herbs and vegetables, plus soil, mulch, compost, plant nutrients, potting mix, etc. The aisles and shelves are uncluttered and neatly organized, making it easy to locate what you need. Of course it's early Spring, so this could change as the seasons progress, but today was a great shopping day!

Customer service was "above and beyond". I Ordered a custom Onyx lavatory (bath countertop with integrated sink) that arrived 1/4" wider than ordered on the left side, and it "appeared" 1/4" short on the other. They called Onyx while I was still there to get another one ordered...and THEN...after I left...they removed the thing from the box...realized it was not actually 1/4" short on the right side...it only appeared to be when nested in the packaging...AND they trimmed the right side that was too wide...turning it into exactly what I ordered...and THEN...Chad delivered it to me so I wouldn't have to drive back out to Olathe from Lawrence! I can't begin to express my surprise and deep appreciation for their thoughtfulness. Almost unheard of these days. I'll totally be back...even though I live in Lawrence.

Since Sutherlands built a new store close to my house, I've been shopping there frequently. I buy most everything I need there IF they have it available. This spring I bought some azaleas and most of them didn't make it. Unfortunately, Sutherlands will not take returns on live plants unless you pay full price. If you got them on sale even for 1 cent off, they are not returnable. I've also been denied a return on a few other defective items. If you shop at Sutherlands and the item is defective, you've now been warned that you may or may not get a refund, depending on who you get at the return counter and their mood of the day.
