I used to shop at this store but now I don't.The owners is very rude not friendly never once greet the customers. The prices are so high and most of the items doesn't have price tag on. They just chargeed you whichever the price they want and when you asked about the prices they gets really rude. I went to the store a week ago and brought 3 thing and it's cost me almost $12. I will never go back to this store EVER again

We love eating and shopping here. The pho and fried rice are top notch, and there are lots of delicious finds in the aisles. Quite a hidden gem!

At first look, it seemed rather disorganized. However, they had what I needed and and they were extremely pleasant.

I give this place a 3-star for 'its okay'. You can find them closed when their business hours say they should be open. When they are open, they tend to have what I need in regards to Asian foods and ingredients. Watch expiration dates though!

The items in this store are very expensive. I didnt notice that the small can of condensed milk i bought was $5! A lot of other items are $1 more expensive than in other asian stores. The guy owner looks rude and racist too, would only be courteous with white people but would be cold and not even greet or be polite to other asians, and he could not even understand English, stupid! If you ever need to buy from them, ask for pricing first because most of the items dont have prices, it could be their tactic to make more money. I will never buy from them anymore. And i hope they could read these reviews so they could improve their pricing and customer service, otherwise. theyd continue to be a shady little store.

We were glad to have asked the woman at the register for the menu book. The egg rolls, spring rolls and shrimp pad thai we got were all quite tasty. The market was well stocked with a wide variety of products.

I always go to eat the food. The best steamed rice rolls I've ever had. The pho is really good. The kapoon is good too. The laab is really good too.Updated June 2023The food is still really good, but the service is NEGATIVE 10.The male owner makes it so uncomfortable to come here. I used to come here at least once a month for groceries and food, but the owner gives off such BAD NEGATIVE VIBES as if he hates his life and projects all that hatred to the people that walks into his store. I ordered a bowl of pho and he charged me for two items. I have no idea what the second charge was for, but since he wants it that bad he can have it.I do think that they just charge you whatever price they think when you cash out for groceries and food. There's no price tag on most of the items.I definitely will not be coming back. There's plenty of restaurants and Asian markets in the area that are more welcoming than this place.

Food was good at reasonable prices. Service is good too. Very helpful. The grocery items are very authentic, southwest Asian.

The previous owner John was always so helpful. The wife of the the new owners is friendly, her husband not so much. You'll be lucky if you get a half smile and an acknowledgement from him. If you're ordering Lao food from the menu, just realize the new owners are Vietnamese so you're not getting authentic unless the kitchen lady that is Lao is there. They tried to keep the pho a little bit on the Lao side so note the difference. Viet pho is clear and Lao pho will always be on the darker side. I'm Lao my husband is Viet and we both prefer Lao Pho. besides the service, price is a bit on the higher side. The food is made fresh and depending on the day. You'll get some decent food. Btw check your expiration date on your products. Sometimes I'll bite the bullet and buy products there when I'm too lazy to cook but buyer beware.

The spring rolls were amazing! I wish they had peanut sauce for dipping but great either way and the pho had such rich broth! 10/10 for me- it was a little pricy but worth it!

The Biggest and most delicious bowl of Pho I've had in Kansas City. The service is quick and SUPER affordable. Will defiantly be back.

TL;DR: Decent but not nearly as good as the reviews have made it out to be. If you want to get Lao, Thai, or Vietnamese food like the kinds offered here, get it somewhere that prides itself on it. For dishes similar to Lao cuisine, I'd recommend Spicy One in Overland Park. Thai, I'd always recommend making the trek out to Waldo Thai (it's worth it) and for Vietnamese, I'd recommend Pho Saigon in Overland Park or Pho Lan in downtown KC. When I first heard about this place, I couldn't believe this little market had flown under my radar in Olathe for so long and had to try it. My group and I got the Pad Kra Prao (stir-fried beef and peppers) with a fried egg and the Khao Poon (rice noodles in curry with bean sprouts and mint). It was a joy to see these traditional dishes on a menu, but neither were exactly what I'd hoped for. Khao Poon is supposed to be rich and multilayered, but it was rather one-dimensional and tasted mostly like peanuts. The Pad Kra Prao was better and the spices came through well, perhaps a little too well on the black pepper. Overall, the food was good for one visit but after the Yelp reviews on this spot, I was hoping for more. If you do decide to try Asian Food Market, keep in mind that the food court can seem deserted upon first glance since no one staffs it and few people eat here, but one of the checkout clerks can provide menus and utensils.

Really nice little hole in the wall Asian grocery store right off of 135th in Olathe. I was recommended by a friend to try their food and to get their pho. I wasn’t disappointed. Their beef pho tastes authentic and home made. Would recommend to anyone that is in the area. The staff is very friendly too and prices are decent.

much like everyone, i've been coming here for awhile. food is really good (a bit pricey for the portions they give) but terrible service. the cooks are extremely nice definitely deserve more but the owners are very rude. always rolling their eyes and responding with attitude.
