Unleashed Pet Rescue violates so many of the regulations in the Kansas Pet Animal Act. Please report them to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Division of Animal Health.

Very gross, i do not recommend getting a dog here. very overcrowded, the owner doesn’t care about the dogs. they have been ordered by the state to stop receiving dogs. they recently have been operating without a license.

I thought we're getting two healthy dogs the boy has a sore throat, I took him to a vet and didn't know my female cocker had a rupture which was fixed in surgery. I didn't know any of this after I went to pick up the female and then she mentioned it. She's a beautiful little dog but won't come out of her kennel most of the time. She's scared to death. So Im working with her and hopefully she learn to trust me. It was a bad recommendation and I won't ever go back again. They won't send my females tags either.Ive called and called.

I had the best experience adopting from the rescue. The staff member that helped me in the morning do the meet and greet was very quick to answer any questions, very attentive, and very kind. I appreciated the entire experience. Thank you so much for helping me. Gaius Bean is now Madden.

They have very good choices to choose from. I have no complaints, I've gotten two fur babies from here. Each one requires a certain type of home environment and requires patients from a household for the adjustment period. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

We hosted an adoption event today at Central bank. These ladies were amazing and the fur babies were so beautiful and loved. You can tell they are well cared for and they feel loved. Please go adopt a fur baby and provide them a warm loving safe home.

Adopted two kittens from unleashed, both tested negative for feline leukemia at 3 months when they were spayed and neutered before coming home with us. Then out of nowhere at 1year old my cat got weak and lethargic. We took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with feline leukemia along with my other kitten I adopted. She died the next day. They have had no exposure to other cats and the only place they would have gotten it from was unleashed. When I called to inform them they stated “some vets claim we test too early and that they recommend testing again after 6 months of age” I tried to convince them to call the other 4 litter mates of my cats to inform other families just in case theirs tested positive as well and are fostering other kittens and cats. They said that is not typically what they do and whatever happens will happen. I was frustrated at this point and she said “I can transfer you to my manager if you want, but she will most likely tell you the same thing” so I just hung up. Now my other cat at a year and 3 months is showing symptoms. It’s just unfortunate I adopted two kittens not knowing they were sick or that they do testing not recommended that early by vets offices.

This place is scandalous. I have adopted 4 dogs, all from different places. Had amazing experiences at KC Pet Project, and at the Humane Society. This place does not care about animals or their well being and will charge you ridiculous amounts to try and save a dogs life. With all of the investigations that have gone on surrounding this place I am unsure of how they stay around.

The employees here were great. Had an amazing experience with the managers and Hilary helped us out. Unfortunately wasn't meant to be for us to adopt today but Unleashed will be the first place we look when we are able to.

I found the dog on their website on August 31st. I applied and immediately I was told my application was accepted and I could adopt her. Over the next few weeks, all of this stuff came up about her having pneumonia and couldn’t be adopted until she had finished her medication. I understand, totally cool. The foster mom was so amazing with me and always helped me when I asked something. After all this time they told me I would be able to adopt her yesterday, Tuesday September 19th. I was having problems with my bank account and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to adopt her. They told me if I didn’t complete the adoption last night, that in the morning, she would be available for someone else to adopt. I made sure I had all the money to go this morning to adopt her. I went in and was met by the owner, who is so rude. I completed the adoption and they told me I needed a collar and leash to take her home. I had forgotten the collar at home but I had everything else. Yesterday, while I was at unleashed, the girls at the front let one of people adopting the dog, just walk out with holding their dog. I asked if I could do this, because they wanted me to purchase a collar from them. I understand they have rules and regulations, but all these people want is money. They are being greedy. After the owner being very rude, I had been pushed to my limits so I said “you would think you would be nicer with all the horrible reviews you guys have on the internet.” Not my finest moment, but this woman thinks she can mess with people because she owns an establishment that was almost closed down in march of this year and had to pay a $15,000 fine. After I said that, she told me to get out and that I couldn’t have the dog, even tonight the adoption had been processed and I had paid. She told me “I will not let people treat me like this anymore” and told me to leave or she was calling the police. The dog is back up for adoption and was originally $450 and now her adoption fee has gone up to $600.

I recently took a dog home for a couple days to see if it could become a permanent situation. My dog didn’t like her so it didn’t work out. What struck me is when I brought her back, she did not act distressed at walking back through those doors. They obviously have been good to her. The first two years of her life were spent with horrible people and I’m glad she has a place until that perfect situation happens for her.I will be back to try again.
