The rest area is a bit run down but does have a number off covered picnic tables.

This used to be much nicer, but now appears to be falling into disrepair. The main door the the restrooms is broken and just swings open and closed in the wind, restrooms reek of cigarette smoke and picnic areas need work.

The information center was locked. We thought it was odd during daytime M-F? Wecould hear and occasionally see a person moving around inside. We let our dogs out and stretched our legs while waiting. After about 30-40 minutes, we just left.

Quiet, clean and relaxing. Only problem we experienced was a lot of sand spurs . Could not walk our dogs.

Fairly nice outdoor area. But terrible auto-flush toilets that plug ridiculously easily! The toilet kept flushing every minute or so, even when I covered the sensor. If it plugs, which it may do with barely anything in there, you may get flooded out, especially in the small stall where's there's no room to step to the side of the auto-flush sensor. Please get rid of these awful toilets! Or at the very least, the auto-flush! Not recommended for those who have health issues that affect their digestive system. The bathrooms may also be out of toilet paper.There's also a bit of road noise here, and it's right next to train tracks where the trains use their horns.

This is a really nice place to rest. I appreciate kansas putting rest areas wherever. Was a quiet place to rest and sleep also. I would recommend.

Sooooo....it's in the middle of no where.
We needed to get up and stand.
We were smack in the middle of a 24 hour road trip.
The front door is busted and won't stay shut and was slamming back and forth in the 60 mph winds. I guess for that it's just a slight OCD thing ?♀️?♀️ I just wanted to accomplish shutting the door ?
If you really really really really really have to go to the bathroom have at it. If you don't like going on a metal toilet with no seats flies thennnmm you're ok ?.
I will say, it was as clean as it could be given what it was.
The scenery outside is more of the incredible landscape of endless land.
We laughed, it was about 10,000 degrees that day and the winds were about 60 mph. We had a cooler leak in our van and got a bunch of stuff wet. It was SO hot and windy I was able to hold the wet bags and items up in the air and everything was dry in like 5 minutes.
When you say it felt like standing in a oven on high, that moment was it.

Good for parking large vehicles. The bathroom facility was closed for maintenance.
