The folks at Leawood were familiar with the winery and while they didn't have the particular blend I was after they had good recommendations for alternatives. I was pleasantly surprised at how familiar and conversant they were with medium-sized wineries from the Central Valley of California, which is not Napa. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Leawood any time.”

“Cute little wine shop in Waldo, the owner is super nice and laid back. They do a lot of fun imported wines. Mostly dry but they do have some fruit forward wines too. Would highly recommend making a reservation if you are wanting to do a tasting because of the limited space. The only thing I'm disappointed in is that it took me a year to find this place.”

“Awesome place now. New ownership has decked out the inventory and lowered the prices. Very nice family running it and taking very good care of it. Really a fantastic selection of wine, beer, and tons of liquor. The owner even purchases the special edition versions of your favorite stuff to have in new variety. Highly suggest you checking this spot out if your in the area. Also having the gas station next door is nice if you need those extra sodas or anything!”

“WONDERFUL experience learning a lot about wines they were offering for tastings. We tried three different ones: a chardonnay/Clairette, a sparkling red and a boujalais red. All were really unique and one wasn't even in the Vivino database, so I was able to add it myself. We got to talk with the owner for quite a while, which was great.I love supporting local businesses - especially when they're passionate about what they do. This place fits that description to a T.”

They had an impressive variety of spirits, wines, and beers that I don't typically see at smaller liquor stores. I was impressed with the wide range of options they had available, which made it easy for me to find what I was looking for and also try some new things.Despite having such a large selection of products, I found that the prices at Lackman Wine & Spirits were pretty comparable to most other liquor stores. I appreciated that I didn't have to break the bank to purchase some of my favorite brands.Moreover, the customer service was fantastic. The guy working there was very friendly and personable, even though it was a late Saturday evening. He was knowledgeable about the products and took the time to answer all of my questions. “If you want service and a fantastic selection then head over to Brown Bag. Several times they have helped me find exactly what I am looking for no matter how unique it was. Their staff always seems happy to be there and happy to assist. They feature a giant walk in beer cave with the normal fridges and a fantastic wine and spirits section. They also offer free samples on a very regular basis, even on Fridays. Another thing about this place is they decorate for Halloween and that makes it a desirable place to bring my daughter with so she can spend some time with me. They even have suckers behind the counter for little ones, just like I used to get when I went with my dad.”
