I've always been skeptical about mechanics. But I've been going to JoCo for 2 years, going on three ever since my first car. I've had two cars in total during the time, and have also seviced my grandmothers car. They have always provided me the most honest answers, and obvious results. I went in to have an oil change and standard checkup of my car after Mercedes said I needed new brakes. I did end up needing new brakes and Ernie explained why and showed me the pictures. It was more urgent than MB led me to believe and I appreciate the honesty and thoroughness of JoCo Auto. I don't think I'll ever go anywhere but here again. Being a young female it's already hard enough to find a mechanic that will listen about my car and help me find a real solution, but man, they did just that and SOOO much more. Literally the nicest people I have ever met and they did everything they could think of to make me comfortable and make sure my car was in good hands. 100% will be coming back or anything and everything I need.Services: General repairs & maintenance

I visited Johnson County Automotive with my parents and I must say that I was extremely impressed with their service. We came in with a flat tire and needed an oil change as well. The staff member, Stevie, was incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in. She even offered us cookies during our wait which was a really nice touch.The service we received was prompt and efficient, and we were kept informed throughout the process. The staff really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. After the service was done, we were very happy with the results and left feeling like we made the right choice by choosing Johnson County Automotive.I highly recommend this business for anyone in need of auto repair or maintenance services. I have been using this shop for the past three years. They have been very open and honest with all their work. This place is awesome and the people there are super helpful and friendly. My hood alarm started going off about 3 years ago mostly when it is cold outside. I replaced it with a new OEM hood latch. It didn't fix the problem. I read online it is an electrical issue. I had another company tell me it was fixed and that they installed a new hood latch, still the same problem. The hood alarm (open hood alert) was going off non-stop for no reason with the hood securely latched. I had a 3rd vendor replace it again after I had hit a deer in January of 2022. They researched the problem and said they fixed it. Still NOT fixed. I decided to take it to JOCO Auto Repair. I told them all the issues we have had. They researched the issue and called me about 3 hours after they got the truck and said they found the issue and it was a grounding cable that someone had moved and connected to an areas it should not have been connected. They said the issue if now fixed. So far it appears to be repaired. Thank you so much JOCO Auto Repair. I want to specifically thank Stevie and Alan. It is hard to find a good repair shop, but every time I am in this place the number of repeat customer that come in is just crazy and all very happy with the work and service of JOCO Auto Repair. I was a recent customer of Jo Co Auto and was very pleased with my interactions with them. Overall I found them to be an old-fashioned business in all the best ways. I found them to be trustworthy, generous, and skilled at what they do. I like the fact that they take photos of what car parts need replacing and take the time to thoroughly communicate what is going on; I've actually never been to a mechanic that did things quite like that. Their prices are also pretty reasonable, and everyone who works there is super nice and understanding. Car repairs are often very stressful, especially if you are dealing with a vehicle that you care about, but the whole time I felt like my vehicle was in good hands. I would not hesitate to visit them again in the future for car maintenance or repairs or recommend them to friends and family.Services: Battery

Not really happy with the service provided as of lately. I brought a vehicle in that was having some fuel related issues. Mass air flow sensor and a evap code. The first recommendation was replacing the fuel tank. After replacing the fuel tank they found out it was only a wire on the top that needed to be replaced. I took the vehicle back assuming everything was good and not even 200 miles later my check engine light is back on and it started pouring white smoke… with more fuel related issues. This time a purge valve, 02 sensors and converter codes codes. They’ve been so quick to just recommend high ticket items without actually knowing if it’s going to solve the issue or not. The service writer asked if the vehicle had been over heating which it hadn’t ever overheated so they didn’t recommend doing anything about a potential blown head gasket and tried selling me on all the other items without addressing the white smoke. The entire reason for me bringing the vehicle was for the heavy smoking. The white smoke concerns me and I don’t want to throw 2k into before even addressing the blown head gasket which is the only reason I brought the vehicle in was because of the white smoke. With all the recommendations they’ve given me so far (if I would have approved the 2k in repairs) them knowing very well it wouldn’t fix the concern of the white smoke. I’m in 3K in repairs for a car that I paid 2 thousand for… then when the head gasket blows another 1500-2000 dollars. When I worked there we were trained not to sell items if the vehicle wasn’t worth repairing or to address the most concerning first, which the advisor didn’t do. All I’m saying is they should have just tried addressing the blown Head gasket first before recommending anything else. If I would have approved everything else then the head gasket would have blown in a month. That would of been another 1500-3000 dollars now I’m in for 5-6k for a car not even worth 2 thousand dollars. I’m just not very happy with the level of service provided by the entire operations including the management. After I wrote this review they told me to come get my car and not come back. If I would have been someone that didn’t know anything about cars i would have had to pay a ton a money all due to greed and neglect of giving all the information to the customer. I used to work for them and know the owner he’s a great guy and will go out of the way to make sure customers are happy. But clearly things have gone a little sideways now that they have a manager instead of the owner. I tow for AAA and would regularly recommend people to them but after this I will no longer be sending them any business.
