These guys are always here to help, and they are always so nice about situations that pop up! The police officers here are very professional and take every situation serious!

I've never had an unprofessional experience from anyone at RCPD even when pulled over for speeding and I thought I was rolling 70 in a 65 I was actually doing 82 I forgot to use my GPS as a speedo with the bigger tires the officer was nice enough to write the ticket for 75 so it didn't affect my insurance another time they lit me up at the Riley corner I called dispatch and told them I had someone with a major injury and severed artery and if they passed out I didn't know if there would be enough pressure on the wound to get her to the hospital alive as I came into town they had a car in front of me and intersections blocked so we could fly right to the ER and had hospital staff waiting with a stretcher after I parked I was informed I was clocked at 142 but they didn't write me up and the guy that says they roll 3 to 5 deep per car that's rolling around is so full of it his ears are leaking and stinking I rarely see 2 per car and I'd imagine that's training

Why is your headquarters so large? Why is it completely filled with an unnecessary amount of vehicles. You clearly have way to much money. Any give late night you will see 3-5 cops per car on the road. What a giant waste of money. Half the time there are 2 cop cars just sitting together in a parking lot for over an hour plus. They are scamming the city and if you care about Manhattan at all, we need to fix it. There are such better places we could be putting our money.

They performed a welfare check for a friend. They acted within minutes of the call and their quick action saved his life. Dispatch was incredible and the responding officer called me just as soon as he resolved the situation.

I am a 100 percent disabled veteran.I was detained during a traffic stop by several police officers. officer John Wolf the arresting officer as well as the rest of the staff ignored my plea for an attorney, officer Wolf told me the only way he would allow that constantly threatening he would make my charges worse if i refuse to sign. officer WOLF brought me to the hospital where je told me he had enough to put me in jail if i didnt take the blood test. i refused n he began To twist my wrist. officwr WOLF then proceeds to take me in a private room and further twisting my healing broken wrist And told me to not cause a scene due to me crying n screaming of pain, officer WOLF threaten to make it more dificult so he dragg me out of the hospital where my shoes came off then proceeds to further hurt me before us taking me back to the jail. This is not a police officer ,police protect women that get battered and suffer any kind of abuse. police officers dont abuse their power. they protect.

Quote from the county website: "The Riley County Police Department is unique in that it is a consolidated law enforcement agency. Riley County does not elect a sheriff, and the officers of RCPD have county-wide jurisdiction. This is different from most agencies due to the fact that most cities in a county have their own local law enforcement officers and are also served by a sheriff's department." - In other words; citizens don't get to vote on who their Sheriff is, and the county officials get to control all law enforcement by way of the law board and director. I've lived in Riley County for over 15 years and law abiding citizens outside of the city of Manhattan have been abandoned by this department. We need a sheriffs department that upholds the law instead of catering to drunken college students and thieving meth-head families. We need a sheriff who is accountable to the people instead of a group of bureaucrats looking to further their own agendas. It's time to end this "consolidation".

I came to rcpd to give a statement and they had me wait in a room with no heat when it’s the middle of winter and 18 degrees outside. I had already talked to the operator twice but was still not allowed to wait inside. They get one star because at least there was a bench to sit on, but the fact that I had to wait in a room with no heat for 20 mins is ridiculous.

On the 23 of September 2018 at precisely 1140 pm I drove up to a cop car at a red light and informed him that I was ran off the road by this pick up. What did this guy do??? He then followed the pick up for 10 MINUTES and still didn't pull him over? Are you kidding me? Protect and serve my ass .... guess I'll get a dashcam now since I cant trust a single cop in this city.
