I needed some touch-up paint to apply to a few chips on my car hood from random debris that hits your car on the highway. I researched the paint color I needed, but could none of the Honda dealerships had the color in stock. One of the dealerships recommended I come to this place as they can make the custom colors. I showed up and when I walked in the owner/front store attendant was on the phone with another customer. I waited patiently and once he was off the phone I let him know the custom color that I needed. He then proceeded to explain as rudely as possible that he needed the VIN number on the car as well because there are different Honda factories and for him to make the color match he would need that info. No problem, I called back home to my wife to grab the VIN number and she texted it back to me. Overland Auto Paints owner then says what is the 11th digit in the VIN number? I eye-ball the text message counting across and say the digit is '0'. He then stares at me with no response as if I'm the biggest idiot on the face of the earth. I recheck and realize that I had gone one digit too far and apologize telling him it is actually "C". He doesn't even acknowledge that he heard me give the correct digit and starts writing some stuff down on a piece of paper and putting some stuff in the computer before finally saying it will be 15 dollars and I can pick it up tomorrow after noon. Before paying I give him the opportunity to bestow his expertise on me and also make some extra money. I ask him what the best way to apply the paint is and if there are any special tools I'd need to apply the paint to the chips evenly and make it look good. He again acts like I'm a moron and says all I need is a brush or a book of matches to apply it. Even by doing that, he tells me it won't look perfectly blended and I can't make it look blended unless I spray-paint the whole hood. Ok, sorry for asking and giving you an opportunity to help your business and a potential future patron to your business. I decide that everybody has bad days and when I come back the next day I'll see if he's doing any better with his attitude. If not - it is time to submit his first Yelp entry. Sure enough Mr. Grumpy Pants was there again. I'm waiting behind some people and waiting patiently for them to finish their business. This time a different cashier is helping them. Eventually Mr. Grumpy Pants Owner walks to the front from the back where he's been mixing paint. He grabs a can of paint, walks over and just hands it to me without saying a word and then goes back to the back area. Okay - no thank you's, no parting words, no nothing. Why do you do this for a living and own a custom Auto Paint store if it is such a hassle for you to mix paint. Sorry for ruining your day Mr. Grumpy Pants by ordering a product and service from your store. Thanks for the paint - I'll be ordering in the future off the Internet. Good luck.
