I was reluctant to take classes I’m not limber and thought I would feel out of place. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and the teachers are excellent. They do a great job of helping with needed modifications. I love the classes and especially enjoy how good I feel later in the day after working out.??♂️

Great workout and very challenging! I never love to go to gyms but this is a whole new approach for workout and I am loving it! Really appreciate the instructors being welcoming and encouraging. They pay great attention to their students and help us improve our form. I feel that I am getting a lot of helps and get the best result from their in person classes!

The Leawood Bar Method can be five stars or two stars depending on who's at the location that day. For the most part, I absolutely love the classes and staff here. If you're looking for a barre studio, or you've done yoga/pilates and you're looking for a fun but serious workout studio, this studio should definitely be on your list. Instructors I would recommend to be sure you have a great experience are Lauren, Morgan, and Erin. From the first day I came, they knew my name and gave personalized feedback on how to do better. That said, I rated a bit lower than I normally would because there have been a few very negative experiences here that made me not want to go back. It was mainly just being unnecessarily rude? Which is out of character because the primary things I love about my favorite instructors here is how attentive, encouraging, and detail-oriented they are. If you want examples of the negative experiences I've had, I won't be exhaustive but one example is when I brought a friend to class. Whoever was manning the front desk completely ignored us, and when I asked which room class was in that day, she corrected me on which instructor's class it was without answering the question. My friend felt really unwelcome and I felt terrible that it was her first experience with barre.

The Bar Method has been a wonderful addition to my CrossFit workouts. It helps me to work the smaller, intrinsic muscles that get missed helping to aid in stability and injury prevention. Bar Method is also wonderful as I need to be tapping into lower impact and more Zone 2 work through my week. It is by far my favorite way to do that.

I had been doing Bar Method classes for 6 years and then moved out of town where there wasn't one. I just moved back two years later and started up again. I am amazed at how fast my body is reacting to these workouts. I missed Bar and Love it! Never quitting again! Thanks Lizzy, Amy and Team!!!

I have been a Bar Method member for years and am consistently challenged. The workouts continue to evolve while remaining true to the fundamentals of the program. The instructors are knowledgeable, caring and make the classes fun. It's a great workout for people of all fitness levels and physical capabilities.

After being stuck in non-movement (a real rut) a friend posted on Instagram a new customer deal to try Bar Method & I'm so very glad I did. It is extremely challenging but completely doable for a beginner. My mantra from the start was "inside out", as I wanted to get strong & have no desire for six pack abs. The instructors each bring their own unique energy, but they all share great knowledge of alignment & technique so I've felt safe and mentored when I don't know what I'm doing much of the time. This expertise has kept me injury free, and noticable stronger after only 3.5 months. They are encouraging and the music is poppin'. Having fun whilst working really hard is a great combo for me. I feel like I get personal training attention & the energy and community from a group. The 45 minute class "express" with an hour full of moves is perfect. I just love it. One of the best decisions I've made.

I was a runner for many years but due to constant knee pain I had to find another form of exercise. Given how much I loved running and the results my body gets I was not sure another exercise would compare....I was wrong!! Barre has far exceeded my expectations and my arms, abs + glutes are testimony to that!! I am beyond glad I discovered Barre and their amazing instructors. I am a member for life.

All the women are so kind & welcoming—& they know their stuff! I’m super particular about “working out” (ie I don’t like it) & I steer well clear of any kind of exercise that feels punitive to me—physically or mentally. In a culture that focuses so much on controlling or taming our bodies I feel it’s necessary & important to take care of mine in a way that is intentionally loving & appreciative. Classes here are challenging but in an empowering way & a supportive environment. I am a yogi at heart & by trade & have found this to be a good addition to my practice.
