Absolutely do not recommend this pet hospital! I made an appointment for my puppy because he was sick. They called to cancel the appointment and rescheduled for a few days later. When I brought my puppy in for the rescheduled appointment, they told me that the appointment was actually on a different day—two weeks later. Horrible communication and scheduling skills! I asked if I could have an earlier appointment, and they told me I could pay extra to bring my puppy in sooner. Since they canceled my first appointment and messed up the rescheduling, I felt they shouldn't charge me extra. They just want your money and don’t actually care about your fur babies! I ended up scheduling a same-day appointment at the pet hospital in Eudora, and that clinic is great!

After having a horrible experience at another vet we were a little apprehensive. Wakarusa Vets have went above and beyond!! They are kind, knowledgeable and thorough. Their Vet Techs are also wonderful. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

Dr. Amend and her staff are amazing. The compassion and care that they showed our terminally ill pets is beyond anything that I would have expected. If I could, I would give more than 5 stars.

Been going to this Vet office since I moved here in 2015 - they are the best! I do think they provide the finest services and are thoughtful and caring people.

Can't say enough about Dr. Gleeson and her staff. They took such wonderful care of our Bessie when she needed their help. Called and checked up on her every couple of days. They were so helpful whenever we had any questions.

We have a miniature dachshund and domestic house cat, and both are treated like royalty at Wakarusa Vet! Our dog has had several instances of urgent of medical needs, so we’ve seen every vet and almost every tech and everyone of them is absolutely incredible. We recommend Wakarusa Vet to anyone in the Lawrence area with a pet!

I'm totally astonished by the not-so-great- 1-star reviews! My sweet girl and I had our first visit with the vet and staff members yesterday and I was totally satisfied! Dr. Amend was very knowledgeable, welcoming and professional in her handling of my pet's condition and I left feeling such relief and appreciation. Many Thanks!

The staff is so kind and friendly and truly cares about the animals. My dogs are usually very anxious each visit and the staff really know how to make it a comfortable experience for everyone. Dr. Amend was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend!!!

Dr. Gleason is kind, skilled, and absolutely amazing with our boy! He is 12 and had to have a surgery on his face. We moved from a vet we couldn't get the level of care for our dog that we desired and my husband found Wakarusa Vet. Could not be happier with Dr. Gleason and team's professionalism and expertise. She actually calms down our very anxious, nervous dog. Highly recommend!!
