This has to be the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at. Believe the other reviews describing how filthy it is. I’ve stayed at other motels that while older, are well kept. That is just not the case at all here, it’s really run down. When we mentioned a broken towel rod to management, they basically said “okay.” Stay elsewhere.

I stayed at Virginia inn & suites in Lawrence KS. If I could rate this place zero I would. To say it was dirty is an understatement. The sheets , walls, shower curtains just about everything was filthy. The room smells like sewage. When we complained to the hotel they offered us an air freshener to mask the smell. We slept fully clothed. The property should be condemned. If you could stay away I would. This was the worst experience of my entire adult life.

Rooms are pretty clean, aside from the coffee machine. There are no vending machines that work. Woke up to a lunatic screaming in the parking lot, pacing back and forth, talking about shooting someone in the head with a shotgun.

They called the police on my friend for not having all of her stuff out of the room before check out, even though they had spoken about paying for more nights. OH, and the manager/owner kicked a cat OFF of the second floor walkway!!

dishonest owners and dirty rooms. We checked in originally for 2 nights because of a broken a/c at home. At check in told them we would only need one night because a/c being fixed the following day. The older gentleman at desk said he would refund right away Upon checking credit card statement it did not happen. I called again and got a younger man whom I told the story. He immediately issued credit and texted me a copy i had also contacted the bank. Next morning a lady, whose English was difficult to understand and was obviously mad Called from motel. Nevertheless, though I had a refund receipt for the night we cancelled, they were able to get the bank to give them the full payment. Very very dishonest. Probably the only way a dump of a motel can stay in business I'm sure many who check in, Then see the rooms, Would go ask for a refund but won't get one Go down the road and spend an extra $20 for a clean room and a breakfast

UNFORTUNATELY this non-American run dump will no longer be getting our business for RACIAL PROFILING. They acted like we weren't getting our deposit back and were not accommodating with late check out at all. *Updated from a visit 3 years ago: Hair in the Whirlpool... the service is decent and they are very accommodating...

Comfortable beds, clean and helpful,friendly staff. The building is older, but they did a great job on updating decor and making sure it's clean. Seems family owned and the pride in their work shows. Great location and affordable.

The room (143) wasn't sparkling but clean enough for a short stay. That night I woke up with welts on my back and neck. I came home, and the welts continued sporadically. One morning, after being woken up with intense intchin and welts, I saw a fully gown bedbug. I checked my luggage used and also found another and residue. I called to notify the manager so they could inspect and treat the room so other travelers wouldn't be affected. He stated they didn't come from that establishment and wouldn't even give me their name. He did, however, give me the address should I take it up in court.Stay was 3/28/2023Stay here at your own discretion.

Needed a place to sleep for the night travelling across the states. The pictures looked clean but don't match the actual wear and tear of the rooms. My non-smoking room smelled like smoke. The bathroom was covered in mold. The air conditioning was off when I got to my room and didn't cool off the room what so ever while I went to find dinner. If you want a sleezy motel without accomodations, this place is for you. If you want cleanliness, air conditioning, and good customer service, go elsewhere.

Rooms are disgusting. Escorts constantly walking around. Water temp doesnt work and them to top it all off. Owner tried to add bogus charges upon checkout at 6 am! Then withheld Key cards while we still had items in the room and told us to leave. Police were called. When police arrived we were given our items back and were not charged extra. Owner is a scammer. DO NOT RECOMMEND

It's a warm bed and keeps you out of the weather. Not worth what we paid. The room has a lot of cosmetic issues, torn-up furniture, a wall plug with wires exposed (we managed to somewhat put it back into the wall), and mold on the bathtub. The bathroom vent was very loud and obnoxious, no shampoo or conditioner was given, only a small bar of soap and a bottle of lotion. The sink water would not run warm or hot, and the shower temperature was burn your skin off or freeze your soul, with no in-between. We decided to not even try the breakfast with how everything else was. It did have a working fridge and microwave on the brighter side of things. I would only use this place if you just need a quick one or two-night stay to rest on a long road trip.Nearby activities: Great night life with a lot of live music.

My son and I stay here whenever we come to Lawrence. The location is excellent, the staff are friendly and extremely accommodating and I prefer outside entry doors. I do not eat the breakfast so can not comment on it, but room wise? Spacious and clean, good beds, and the wifi and tv work excellent (all a plus to my 8 yr old) - an amazing deal for the price. The rooms are a little dated, but again, clean and the beds are newer. No stains on carpets and although the furniture is older it is in good repair. The hot water is great, microwave, fridge and coffee pot in the room along with an easy chair and the 2 queen beds. A cabinet to store your luggage and a dresser. I’ve stayed here before and will stay again.

We LOVED this place! The rooms and premises are clean and cozy. We felt safe. It’s in a very convenient location and prices are quite reasonable for the amenities provided. The front desk/ staff are very kind and efficient. A hundred percent would recommend.

When I relocated to Lawrence Kansas unfortunately I was unable to immediately find a suitable residence & began to stay in the local hotels.Most of the hotel rates in the city are far above my budget. So I began to stay in what appeared to be the smaller mom&pop establishments.& me being a person who always pays close attention to the small details,how clean the establishment is, rooms,beds,bathrooms,linens, furniture & even the exterior of the property which always tells you alot about the care & maintenance the Proprietors put into any Pride of professionalism in their business.I always found some or even alot of things that where very undesirable. Noisy guest, unattendtive & even at times absent staff, loud party's, mix match&/or broken furniture, lumpy and uncomfortable beds, suspicious & even possible drug-related Behavior by other guests,Broken in vehicles & last but not the least greatest bugs in my room, that freaked me out, yuck.So after moving from hotel to hotel a couple of times I finally found theVirginia Inn located on 6th Street in Lawrence KS.Here I quickly learned that me,a guest,the customer, comes first.My safety, comfort & all around well-being is always the first topic of any conversation with these wonderful people. Not party's or loud noises,why we're the police here last-nightOr ridiculously exorbitant rates.It seems that all of the employees along with the other staff & even guest are in the most Pleasant of moods. They're charm and positive attitudes create such an upbeat tone for the beginning of any day, & they are so very helpful in every way. No detail was left unchecked, & the rooms were immaculately clean. The maid, Virginia is her name is one of the sweetest ladies you could ever meet. She has the most positive & wonderful attitude of genuine kindness. The grounds are clean and well cared for along with 24-hour safety & security. And most important the rates are very affordable. I've been here for 4 months now and am not only able to comfortably afford my room fee but also left with the ability to save some money. The Virginia in Personnel have such a wonderful charm to them it's almost like you've been friends for years, you miss them when you leave and you'll be excited to see them when you come back so if you come to Lawrence check out the Virginia Inn located on 6th Street it's a stay I promise you won't regret, Peace, Quiet, comfort, and most important safety of the guest and there family it's what makes the Virginia Inn a home away from home.
