Everything here was great. They were transitioning the company that programs their room keys so we had to be walked up by the front desk staff and they opened the door with the master key, each time we left and came back. But they were very nice about it!! Breakfast was included and was okay, just your basic stuff. Would Def come back!

Have been staying here at Thanksgiving for three years. Colorful lobby, friendly staff, clean rooms, always a good place to rest and recharge.

Prepaid before arriving like I would normally always do. Go to check-in and they charge me for as an "Incidental's Hold" and then again as a "Hold" for the room itself... To make things even better I had to meet a worker at my room because they couldn't get a key made for me yet.

Great service and clean rooms. I do wish they had microwaves in the rooms but it was still great.

Traveling across country and choosing a place early afternoon. The rooms are kind of small - long and narrow - with no real surface space. Instead, there's a long, narrow 'counter' about 15 inches wide. It has a very stark, cool feeling to it. Kind of a retro feel like from the Jetsons. But the colors they chose are great! Definitely not a warm fuzzy feel. The bathroom is very poorly designed. Towel hooks are out of reach when finishing your shower, the towel bar on the door is a bit of a reach because it's centered in the door and the room between the shower and the toilet is several steps away. Sounds stupid I know, but looking for the place to dry your feet isn't usually a few steps away. This is a two person bathroom (for size comparison). My friend was brushing her teeth and called me into the bathroom. There was water coming out of the light fixture in the shower. When the person upstairs was showering, it was a steady stream. When they turned off the water it was a heavy drip. I called the front desk to report it and was surprised with the lack of concern by the staff. Finally she said, "Do you want to change rooms?" I said "I really don't think it's a good idea to take a shower in this one." She seemed annoyed about it.The free breakfast and coffee was the worst we had on the entire trip. Sadly, they were out of everything. I love Lavazza coffee but it definitely didn't taste like it. We hit Starbucks on our way out of town. I don't recommend this place or this chain unless you just want a place to sleep. The beds were very comfortable.

Don't stay at this hotel!!! I would have given them less than one (1) star on this review, but that was not an option.I checked in on September 8, 2023 and immediately did not have a good feeling as the staff at the front desk were rude. When they told me what my room was, I asked if I could get a room on a lower floor and they said no, that if I had wanted to change my room, I should have asked for it when I saw the room number on my confirmation email, first mistake, that was not "TRU," there is no room number given when you get a confirmation email.Second mistake, my confirmation email, did show that I would have a king bed, I did not.As I was preparing to eat my dinner, in my room, I noticed something on the counter by the TV, it was a ROACH. I captured it in a napkin and took it to the front desk to tell the staff, now they would need to find me another room. I mistakenly thought I had squished the roach in the napkin, but I was wrong, when I opened the napkin to show them the dead roach, it jumped onto the counter, they both screamed and said, "take it outside," which I immediately did and apologized letting them know I thought it was dead.Third, fourth, and fifth mistakes: they gave me another room, no one offered to help me move my stuff; they did not offer me any discount on my room; and again, I did not get a king bed.Last mistake: I sent an email to Hilton Corporate and although they said they would respond in three (3) days, it's been one (1) week and I have heard nothing from them. Not the Hilton Corporation I remember from many years ago.

We stayed here from June 29th through July 3rd. I’m here right now writing a review. This by far is the worst hotel Hilton has ever had. We get that it’s pet friendly. But when we 1st checked in. We were in a room with pet smelling sheets. The room smelled like musk. It was absolutely horrible.Fast forward. There is only one washer and dryer. So u have to wait all night to wash. Upside: the washer and dryer are free. The FoodIt was okay for a continental breakfast. However, people were allowed to bring their dirty pets inside the breakfast room. That’s just disgustingHousekeepingIt was a lot of weird looking house keepers. They looked like they were high on meth. We requested for them to change the linens in our room. They NEVER did. We knew it wouldn’t be every day. We also understand the request for house keeping needed to be made. It WAS but no one came. We caught the house keeper while she was cleaning she said no one told her and we asked her to just give us the stuff. She did not.Warning warning warningsEVERY SINGLE ROOM HAD HAD A PET IN THE ROOM. We were ate up by bugs of some sort our entire stay.I could go on and on. But this was by far the worst stay EVER. We will not ever come back. They need a whole new cleaning process. Please don’t be fooled by the lobby area. It’s horrible inside the rooms. I wish I could give them zero stars.Definitely didn’t appreciate being bitten by insects the entire stay.

Changed rooms at 10pm because the AC wouldn’t work.Second room had a leaking toilet and was dirty. Big nasty hairs in the shower was the last straw!!!Did a early checkout in the morning which I do all the time when traveling for work, this time I get an email that I will be charged for a 2nd day. Called the hotel twice and they said they are busy and will get back to me in 1-2 days. I couldn’t risk having two hotels for the night and said I will come back if i have a room that the AC works, toilet doesn’t leak, and is CLEAN!!!I come back in that evening and they give me the same room and it still hadn’t been cleaned!!!!Told the front desk and it still never got cleaned on T,W,or ThRooms: Small compact, hotel is newer but very poor craftsmanship

BE CAREFUL OF OVERCHARGES! We stayed there for a baseball tournament on June 15 & 16 2023. We were supposed to have a room rate of $110 per night. When I went to check out they charged my credit card $448.50 for the two nights. I spoke with Rachel and Liz and they said they would issue a refund to my card. I have a printout from the hotel showing the credit but it never was refunded Two weeks went by and there was still no refund. I called and they said there had been a mixup and the credit would be reissued. $44.19 was credited back to my card. I've been calling back but have been sent to voicemail which hasn't been returned. Today I was finally able to speak to Liz again and she told me there was nothing else she could do. Two minutes later a credit of $81 was issued to my card. I tried to call back, and nobody answered. They still owe me money.

d like to take a moment to share our unbelievable experience staying at the Tru by Hilton in Lawrence, KS from 6/15/23-6/18/23 with you. Unfortunately, this hotel's name couldn't further misrepresent the quality of stay our softball family experienced from the moment we arrived on Thursday, 6/15/23, until the moment we walked out of the door on Sunday, 6/18/23, shortly before 10:00 AM. Being a Hilton rewards member, we were able to check in on the app on Thursday morning; however, when we arrived shortly after 3:00 pm, we were told our room wasn't ready. While waiting for our room to become available, we noted on the app that our room rate was wrongly charged. The reservation confirmation we received on 2/25/23 and 5/31/23 showed that we would be charged $117 on 6/15/23 and $161 for 6/16-6/17/23; however, the rate on the app on 6/15/23 showed we would be charged $175 for 6/15/23, $209 for 6/16/23, and $229 for 6/17/23. This was brought to the manager, Elizabeth Craft's, attention and corrected once she saw our reservation confirmation; however, we still have a pending charge on our credit card for $818.37. We will continue to monitor our credit card to ensure we are only charged what our reservation confirmation shows. Unfortunately, this was the case for all 9 of our families. There was a 10th family that had reservations but didn't arrive until after 11:00 pm after driving for 9 hours and was told the hotel was overbooked and there were no rooms available for the remainder of the weekend. Fortunately, they were able to stay with another family and got a reservation at the DoubleTree on Friday for the weekend. Unfortunately, this wasn't the only issue we had during our stay. Thursday night, we noticed our sink faucet was loose and not tightened down. Friday morning it was warm and humid in our room and we noticed our air conditioning wasn't working properly. The thermostat was set to 62 and the room temperature was 74. My husband informed the front desk about the issues and was told that they didn't know if maintenance would be in but if they were, they would have them look at it. We later discovered that we weren't the only ones that were without properly functioning air conditioning. Another family in 207 and 307 were without as well. Friday night when we returned to our room from being outside for 10 hours in 87+ degree weather, we noticed the air was still not working properly and the faucet hadn't been fixed. My husband went down to request new bedding and towels and to let them know that nothing had been fixed. He was offered a fan. The family staying in 307 checked in on Friday and was informed that the air conditioning being down had been a known issue. When questioned why they weren't informing guests at the time of booking or checking in, they were told that they didn't think it would be that warm outside. Each of us, along with other hotel guests, was offered a small Lasko fan as a resolution because there was no telling whether maintenance would be in or not. The family in 307 was moved to another room. Management was not available or on-site all weekend when asked, which is unacceptable for an establishment that is fully booked for a weekend. In addition, there were times when only one staff member was working during shifts, which is completely unsafe. On Sunday morning, our family went down for breakfast at 8:00 am and they were out of bagels, English muffins, and orange juice. We were told that someone forgot to take the bagels out of the freezer so they were currently thawing. At 8:20, one of the softball girls went to make pancakes, the machine had a sign on it and was told they were out of batter. This is unacceptable with a hotel full of people and 2 hours of breakfast left. When the young lady at the front desk was asked when the manager would be in, we were told she "didn't know." The manager, Elizabeth Craft, arrived shortly before 9:00 AM. Most of our families went to speak with her about their dissatisfaction with our stay

Check in was a disaster.Didn't have the room we ordered. Was not given room key. Was walked to room.Staff was nice, but it seems their manager probably isn't a good fit for the job.Broken toilet seat in lobby.Shower floor cracked, probably leaking to the floor below.

When we got there it we checked in and headed to our rooms. But there were already guests’ suitcases on the bed and clothes thrown about, so we nope-d out of there back to the front lobby and got a new room. Then the air conditioner stopped working. We heard we could get a discount but still got the entire bill charged.Safety: I got checked into someone’s else’s hotel room, so I’d say it’s not unlikely it could happen again.

The staff are as nice as can be. The property is older, but what earned the 2 stars is the strobe light from the smoke detector every 3 seconds all night. We didn’t notice until we had unpacked and turned the lights off. The desk clerk gave us a couple of post-it notes and tape to cover the light but it was so bright and the room so tiny there was no escaping the strobe. I videoed it to show the desk clerk. He said the manager would call me but she never did. I asked to be compensated for the room because we got no sleep, but no response from her or Hilton.
