Solid store.. HUGE. Love to see a store in the nerd world supplying jobs for the community. I did a full walkthrough of the store and inquired about multiple things including trade ins for in-store credit vs cash. I traded in a few things just to see their process. They did not offer an invoice showing exact prices for the cards and told me that they’d only be able to give my 55% in store credit value with no budge. Most shops I visit around the country (even much smaller ones) will offer 70-75% credit value so I do not recommend this as a location to get in store credit for your cards unless you’re in a bind. This is a great downfall of this establishment especially for in store credit if I plan to use the money to buy more product with them. The staff seemed friendly enough and even let me put my bike inside since they do not have a place to lock bikes up in this shopping center. Clean, organized, and has a huge tournament room separate from the rest of the store.

This shop has something for every nerd (myself included). Wonderful selection of old video games and systems. Huge selection for table top gaming. So many miniatures, models, and posters. There is an area to play TCG. I don't play, but it wouldn't surprise me if the store is a Poke-stop.The staff was well informed, friendly, and professional. They were able to answer all the questions I had and even talked old game system trivia. If you're in the area, this is a must-see store.

It's my go to place for rare to find D&D minatures in the KC Metro Area. I have found things there that are unavailable online and will continue to shop there regularly

Game Nut is one of those iconic places that is what it is. Games and comics and DVDs and the best of all of it. The employees know their stuff and management seems to know what they're on about. They also have surprising longevity. They are still going strong.

Usually great, but today I specifically called ahead asking if something could be traded in. Was told yes, they were taking trade ins for that product and to come on down, only for that across town trip to be wasted along with my time and gas money because the guy who takes those trade ins had left before I even called. I don't know why you'd tell me to come waste my time like that. Extremely frustrating.

[Aug 29Didn't put power cord with my purchase when buying a console. I even asked one of the employees if it came with all the cords. They said yes. I drove back home and I don't live in Lawrence. Not worth the trip to drive back to get it. So now I have to buy one here where I live and spend extra money I shouldn't have had to.]Update review[Aug 31Gene Nut (the owner) help resolve my issue personally and was able to mail the missing power cord to the console I bought.

Large game store with a huge selection of models, games, cards, board games and the like. Fair trade values and unique products.

Offered me $18 for my ds lite because “it had to be cleaned” then sells me a psp 3000 for $130 with areas of the screen burned, missing screws, analog stick barely works, crack on the screen, and majorly scratched shell. Stick to eBay unless you like being scammed (they have a no return/exchange/refund policy)

I recently had 2 Nintendo switches stolen from my home. After finding the culprit on my security footage I was able to have them admit they sold them to gamenut. After calling the store the lady rudely said that I would need a police order to get them back. I told them I had a case number but it would not suffice. After finally having the thieves get the switches back one of the games was missing. I had both super smash melee and minecraft in the consoles but somehow only minecraft came back after their inspection. Thieves did not know it was in there and it was probably pocketed by staff. Lastly the culprits were 13, how are 2 13 year olds able to walk in without supervision and sell 2 oled switches for $165? Are there no rules on age? Normally this place is great but this was just awful. Be aware of this place.

Went in to get a couple controllers, one of them didn’t work but they immediately got it replaced for me, even with me having misplaced my receipt. Nice people all around, and I’d definitely go back

Below is a previous review on a former location. It comes into play with my updated review here.Current ReviewI've had many great interactions since my negative interaction. I noticed they took my feedback to heart and posted a simple yet effective message. Which is awesome. Thank you. I've even had the chance to talk with the owner around Christmas time. Even though he was busy putting up some new shelves. I was browsing for some monster hunter figure. We stopped and talked for a bit. I really like the new shop and how the store is laid out. Making great use of the space. The staff are equally friendly.Previous ReviewI had previously reviewed gamenut at a different location about a negative experience I had with ordering cards on a kisok and no printed instructions on what to do after submitting the order.
