membership is free for the first 12 months at the Providence YMCA. if you sign up online and come in to enroll they will take a picture and issue you and ID card. then you have to make no payments for the first year as long as you use your membership. if you don't use the membership and then call and cancel before the 12 months is up, then you will lose your deferred penance and will owe all of the months remaining for the 12-month period other than that they offer great activities they have great amenities

New member, my daughter got hand/foot/mouth within the first three days of going to the in house Daycare. Kids are kids and have their slobber and germs. The real reason for the low rating, is that there's one family bathroom in the pool area. It's not being watched, individuals without kids are going in there alone and using it as their personal bathroom. I'm forced to change my 2 year old daughter in the mens locker room in full exposure of her and them. I brought this to the attention of the very very very young individuals at the front desk and they couldn't care less. Gave me the number to call the director.....which ended up being the number to the front desk.So if you hate privacy, and don't like family friendly environments then this is the place for you!

Great for seniors, not so great for younger crowd. Schedule is not up to date. Court is dirty. Staff is friendly and polite. Too many rules for my taste.

Love the facility. The pool is nice and warm. Only disappointment was I attended an advertised Zumba Dance Fitness class and half the class was core work requiring members to get out a mat and down to the floor. I came to dance and was disappointed. It was the regular Zumba instructor, Suzie. She was friendly, but also used weights and again, it wasn’t advertised as Zumba Toning or Strong Nation, which are the only two Zumba formats that allow weights or floor work.

Morning crew is sadly so rude and took my son to child care for the first time during the morning and was crying literally not even 5 min and the person watching him in child care took him out of the room and told me to come for him bc he wouldnt stop crying. Also had a lady tell me i cant have my son sitting where im working out due to safety but again child care doesnt want to watch my son due to crying. So much for a family gym facility. I pay extra so that my son could go to child care so that we get denied. Again super disappointed. Never had a problem with evening shift but due to my schedule change i had to start coming mornings and all i can say is im truly disappointed on how enployees treat there clients.

You would think they are nice enough to help out a struggling family with a discount obviously I'm not making enough if I'm on food stamps and I showed a letter from what I made the year from Irs.but some rude lady named Vivion with a hard to understand accent kept making it super difficult for me not even trying to help whatsoever asking for me to go through so much trouble to notorize so many things basically wanting to make it hard for anyone like it was coming out of her pocket.. Aren't these facilities promoting wellness for families? For the public to be more healthy? ymca isn't what it used to be. The staff before were so pleasant and nice it felt like family. I'm very upset. This Vivion person needs to have better training because she was awful.

I went up to register my silver sneakers membership and 2 people at the desk but only one actually helping people. There were no brochures for any of the pool sessions I was told to use my phone and take my own picture for reference, after much looking they were able to provide a list and times of classes. Half way through the enrollment I left as the person flitting here and there left me to help the other person at the desk, I thought she worked there but she really didn't help anyone she just sat there looking at the computer. The person that was helping me seemed very confused and disorganized...not a great experience. Will give the facility a try but not expecting to much from the place....
