I recently stayed at the Seville Plaza Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri, and was quite disappointed with my experience, which failed to meet the basic standards one expects from a reputable hotel.Firstly, the front desk staff seemed poorly trained in customer service. During my stay, there was a noticeable lack of communication regarding hotel amenities, specifically housekeeping. I was not informed at check-in that I needed to request this service explicitly. When I did request housekeeping on my third night, my request was completely overlooked, leaving me in an unattended room for the duration of my stay.Additionally, the breakfast was underwhelming and did not live up to expectations. The offerings were extremely basic, consisting only of sliced bread, yogurt cups, juice, and coffee. This limited selection did not provide the variety or the quality one would hope for to start the day.The condition of the rooms was also disappointing. Both the bathrooms and the room furniture were noticeably worn and seemed poorly maintained, which significantly detracted from the comfort and aesthetic appeal of the stay.Overall, my experience at the Seville Plaza Hotel was far from satisfactory. The lack of proper service, poor breakfast quality, and the worn state of the rooms made it clear that much improvement is needed. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that significant changes are made to enhance the guest experience in the future.Rooms: I recently stayed at the Seville Plaza Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri, and was quite disappointed with my experience, which failed to meet the basic standards one expects from a reputable hotel.Firstly, the front desk staff seemed poorly trained in customer service. I’m not sure the people posting anything above a 1 star actually stayed in the hotel.First, the elevator has not been inspected since 2019. There are pieces missing and the area that states what floor you are on does not work. The first room they assigned us on the third floor had dirty towels on the bathroom floor. The hall smelled awful. The second room smelled like mildew and the bathroom was not much better. When checking in, the person had no identifying uniform stating Wyndham. She was sitting the whole time and took a personal phone call while checking us in. A guest came to the desk while we were checking in and they were having issues with their tv.After my initial experience and reading the reviews, there was no way I was risking my safety and health, even for a free stay (I was using points for the stay). I left and booked with a different hotel. There were signs posted in the elevator about the hot water issues. The smell of weed was in the elevator and hallways.Very disappointed in Wyndham. Would not recommend this hotel. Wyndham needs to address the poor nature of this hotel immediately.Rooms: Dirty, smelly and did not look like the pictures on the website.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Convenient to St Luke’s hospital. Construction out front currently so be careful driving in.Rooms: Room was clean and private. I had a small dog with me. Small deposit for that. Good value.

The pictures of the hotel, and the fact that Wyndham owns the hotel, led us to believe this hotel would provide a pleasant stay. The best thing I can say about the hotel is that I have stayed at worse. When you enter the building, the small lobby looks dated, but not horrible. The lobby odor is just a preview of what was to come. The second floor smells of weed, the third floor smells of urine, and the fourth floor smells of mildew. We stocked up on deodorizing spray so we would not dream we were trying to escape prison through the sewer. The room odor was not as bad as the hallway, thank God. Our room was comfortable, but the bathroom needs new fixtures. The bathroom light flickered. The toilet was a slow flusher, my travel partner was frightened the water level was going to overflow and everyone would know that she does in fact poop.If it was at Motel 6 prices, this would be expected. But it wasn't cheap prices, but the experience fell flat. The patio area wasn't bad, at least it smelled like "outside."

I had no issues checking in. Check in was smooth. However, the hotel lobby smelled like marijuana. Greg, the night audit, kindly gave my daughter a bottle of water. As soon as I got into our room, I called downstairs because there was a fire alarm chirping, like the battery needed to be replaced. I spoke to the Greg, and he kindly came up to our room and changed our alarm battery. However, after he left, the chirping continued.I then called downstairs and Greg said he was busy with a customer. And he asked if the chirping was bothering me. I informed him that it was. He said ok, and he’d get back to me after the customer. But he never did.I believe the chirping was from the room adjacent to ours. I then called downstairs 3 times over 20 minutes and no one answered. The phone rings and rings and then the calls go to a voicemail asking me to leave a message. Eventually, after about 1.5 hours of enduring the chirping, and with no one answering the phones, I had to physically go downstairs to the lobby around 10pm. No one was at the front desk, but I did discover Greg standing outside. He quickly came into the lobby, and I informed Greg the chirping was ongoing and I was not able to rest. I asked if we could switch rooms to somewhere different in the hotel. Instead, he grabbed a battery and we headed to the room next to ours and he replaced the dead fire alarm battery in that room, resolving the ordeal. At least we thought the ordeal was resolved. I went to bed but was woken up around 6am because the chirping from the fire alarm started up again. Something must have been wrong with the fire alarm. It was a restless night for me and my family. The room itself was comfortable enough. However there is no swim pool. But, there is breakfast, gym, and wifi. There is also free parking. Overall, I don’t think I’d stay here again because it should not have taken 1.5 hours and several attempts for the issue I had to be resolved. And then have the issue return again in the middle of the night was the worst.Additionally , the hotel is dated and needs better ventilation to get rid of the odors. The bathroom is also in disrepair. Please see the attached photo of the bathroom floor.I thought Wyndham hotels were supposedly a good brand but apparently not? Not sure what the deal is with Wyndham anymore; Smokey halls, Marijuana odors, batteries needing replacement, broken bathrooms, and inattentive staff.I was debating between this place and a Marriott at the Country Club Plaza. I chose wrong this time, but next time I’ll select the Marriott.

STAY AWAY!!!!We left the hotel after our first night in town because someone had broken into our room and gone through our stuff. The bed weren't made/room wasn't serviced so it wasn't a maid who left the door open by mistake. When we got back to our room the 2nd night or our stay, the door was unlocked, the fire alarm was beeping, the phone to the front desk was not working. From day 1 there was a bad smoke smell through the halls and near the elevator area, not in our room, but the second night there was a marijuana smell all the way into our room.Even the service wasn't great from the beginning. I asked the guy at the front desk for 3 large towels (since we were 3 girls staying in the room for a girl's trip and all need extra towels to wash our hair) and he acted all annoyed with me. He was super rude. The second night we obviously decided to leave the second we saw our room was open and smelled the pot smell everywhere (one of us is pregnant...) and asked for a refund and left, the lady at the front desk was totally unphased like she was so used to this kind of complaints! She said she was putting a note in our record to help with the refund... We bought the tickets through some online booking website and it has been a nightmare to get refunded for that second night because the hotel staff won't communicate back with the booking company. So now we are disputing the charge with our credit card company. You get what you pay for I guess. I would highly recommend either paying more or going to a nicer hotel a little outside of town. That's what we ended up doing for the second night and it was way better that way. Worth the extra drive.Safety: NOT SAFE! our room got broken into! and the staff was not even surprised!

We based going to this hotel off the pictures on the website and some of the reviews that were posted. Boy was it the opposite of what it actually is. The elevator smells and the hallways smell like cigarettes and/or major pot. I am pregnant and did not want to be around that smell. The bathrooms are disgusting and nothing looked clean. When we returned to the hotel the 2nd night, our hotel door was open and housekeeping DID NOT COME to service our room so who came into our room?!?! The smoke alarm was chirping when we returned and my friend said someone had looked through her suitcase as her clothes were moved around. We were so freaked out by all of this and the horrible smells that we left and went to a different hotel. I'm still trying to get my money back for the night we did not stay and the hotel is not being cooperative with agoda about this. I had to escalate and get my credit card company that I booked the hotel with involved. Just do yourself a favor and STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

My business trip was made very nice by the staff at this hotel. Mona was TOP NOTCH. I was in need a few times during my visit and Mona made sure she was there to assist. In fact, she was the only person I ever saw at the desk. She must do a whole lot, especially if she is the front facing customer service rep. Mona made my stay very enjoyable! I even was telling her about my job and that we’re hiring… Good employees are hard to find!

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!!!! BEDBUGS!!!! I booked a package through Orbitz and upon arriving, it did look run-down but they appeared to be doing a renovation. On our 3rd night, I woke up to something crawling on me. I turned on the lights and to my horror, there were BEDBUGS in the sheets. We packed up in the middle of the night and booked at the Intercontinental. I took pictures of the bugs in the sheets and reported the incident to Orbitz and the hotel. The hotel not only didn't refund any of the stay (even the nights we didnt end up sleeping there), but never responded to emails or requests even with photos of the BEDBUGS. Orbitz only offered a $70 voucher. I have reported the hotel twice now to Kansas CIty Department of Health, but I urge you to PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!! Run as far as possible.
