The intelligence of the adoption staff suggest everyone should find a different place to take their animals. I saw a kitten in the website I wanted to adopt. I would have walked out with that kitten. It’s impossible to get ahold of the adoption center, I left a message. Hours later when someone called me back I was informed someone would be coming into “meet” the kitten. I explained I lived over an hour away and I can’t wait around or make a drive on a “maybe.” I would have to wait a full week if they didn’t want the kitten to pick it up due to their ridiculous hours. This center doesn’t care about finding animals homes and doesn’t have very bright staff making phone calls. There are many other locations in the are to visit, so let this location go out of business.

The surgeries I had for my rabbits went well here but I would not recommend this place be your primary vet for rabbits. When my rabbit was dying they turned me away with no help or anything because only one vet would see rabbits and they were on vacation- they wouldn’t even give a referral to an emergency vet and nowhere would take me-my rabbit ended up dying.
I switched to a different place for my other one after this, obviously, and they discovered that rabbit was in a terrible condition. Underweight and teeth ROTTING holding on by a thread. I had a check up appointment at GAH a month before this, where I was assured she was looking good in that regard. Looking back through my paperwork I realized the only time they weighed her after my first appointment was only when I specifically would ask for it. I had to put her down because it was too far gone. She had a chronic ear issue so I’m not saying they’re responsible for her death but i feel like it’s completely unacceptable to miss something like that.
I had several surgeries with dr Mertz and she was great at them, adapted well when things went wrong. She was never rude to me, just blunt. But whoever does the exams (you’re not allowed to watch) is too neglectful. I could’ve saved my rabbits a lot of pain if I didn’t use GAH as my primary vet and only did my surgeries through here

There are many Veterinarian in the area all battling for your business. When you find one that are efficient and reliable you stay with them. We first went to Gardner Animal Hospital over 20 years ago when you first moved to the area. They have seen three generation of pets come and go. I will not go any where else. If you are looking to profession Veterinarians that know their stuff and are truly caring professions, then check them out.

We have a difficult situation between our dogs and Gardner Animal Hospital is very capable of handling it. Most facilities we have used have not wanted to deal with our issues, but GAH has bent over backwards to help us. The take good care of our dogs and we do not stress over leaving them in the boarding and dogie-day-camp. They are also working with technology to provide more to their customers. I love that I can log into their website and get previous information on my dog's health. I hear there is a web-cam coming soon so owners can peek in on their pets at play. Both the humans and dogs in our household LOVE Gardner Animal Hospital....update... our girls have since crossed rainbow bridge. When the time came, everone at GAH was so sympathetic and wonderful. We adopted 2 pups and take them to GAH. Dr.Mertz and her team are wonderful. They caught an obstruction in our terrier's intestine that was life threatening. We were able to get him to a surgeon in time for a positive outcome. They also caught a spine issues that could have paralyzed our terrier, but again we were able to get him to a surgeon in time for a wonderful outcome. Dr. Mertz hires top-notch staff that are knowledgeable and caring.

I took my very nervous cat in to see the very kind and patient doctors after he got into a scuffle with his sister and had a scratch on his eye. They were very knowledgeable and kind and patient with him and made him feel very comfortable.and got my baby all fixed up and back to him self. I have been using them for years, would not go anywhere else. Love the doctors and all of the staff.
