You want help you're not going to get it. I've been going there for 4 years. And I've been dealing with some stuff that has been going on for 3 That requires GI. When I asked them to refer me to someone they sent me to someone that doesn't even call back after a voicemail. Oh and don't expect to get seen right away. It takes about an hour to be seen. You can leave in multiple voicemails but it will take 3 to 4 weeks for them to even respond. Worst place to ever go if you have a serious problem with your health. Oh and also I've been waiting to hear back from the GI going on a year now. Worst place to get help when you have a serious health problem.

I want to start this review by saying most of the nurses, drs, and other people who work here are amazingly nice and helpful. The emergency room folks are amazing. Unfortunately the communication from drs here was lacking greatly. Would be told one thing and then another. For example i was waiting on a referral to another surgeon and the dr told me he would call for me and the appointment would get set up. When I was being discharged later that day I was given the number to call because apparently it was my responsibilityto do this. This was irritating because I would have put a call into him much sooner had I known I needed to call so now my appointment will be delayed further due to their lack of communication. Another issue that came up was that I was taking to get an MRI and unfortunately being in a larger body I was too large to fit. These people knew what size I was and what weight I was. They wasted my time having me wait around for an mri because they neglected to have the forethought to accommodate someone with a special need. Basically just was blown off for being too fat and they won't help me other then to control my pain because they can't be bothered to have equipment for people in larger bodies. So yeah, nurses great, Drs need improvement, need to better accommodate fat people!!!! Hope they read this and make changes.
UPDATE: Got my referral sorted out, they were really nice about helping us figure that out when we went down there to ask for help with this situation. So kudos to them for that!

This Hospital ER is the worst I've ever seen on 9 out of 10 times I've been there, and recent visit with my wife for stomach cramps led to a 6mm kidney stone blocking the path from 1 kidney to her bladder which would require needing a stint put in at another hospital so what do they do when you refuse to be taken by ambulance to that other hospital? They leave you sitting in a room for another 2 hours so that your loved one can take a nap instead of getting you on your way to the Dr that is waiting to do the procedure! I wouldn't recommend coming to this ER unless you can visually see what you need like stitches or something along those lines, otherwise save your sanity and money and drive on to another Hospital to begin with...

Update 4/19/24:
After months of stress and fighting with the billing department at this hospital, the Manager/Director Erin called me to resolve this issue today. That is all I have wanted to do from the beginning of this. Erin was wonderful, apologized for the poor treatment I have received and offered a fair solution to the problem. I appreciate that she called and didn't just send another nastygram invoice. Thank you Erin, you are appreciated!
If I could give this hospital billing department ZERO stars, I absolutely would. The billing team here is incompetent and refuses to work with you.
In December 2023, I received a bill for $172.00 for a nebulizer I did not use and subsequently returned to the hospital's Durable Medical Equipment department on January 2024. I have a receipt confirming the return. I offered to pay for the unit as a rental since I had not used it, and returned the unit in new order.
Despite confirming with my insurance company that no payment was made towards the nebulizer, I was informed by the billing department (representative: Tonya) that I was responsible for the remaining balance. I escalated the issue to the director, Amy, who left a voicemail stating the opposite. Amy said that despite me returning the unit, that my insurance had paid for it, so I needed to pick it up. I returned the item, why in the world would I pay for it? You don't purchase and item at a store, return it but not receive a refund. Simply idiotic.
I confirmed with my insurance that ZERO dollars were paid to Susan B Allen Hospital. Amy is combative in her tone and her lack of desire to resolve this issue peacefully and professionally is quite concerning.
I believe there is an error in the billing regarding this returned nebulizer. I have contacted the hospital directly to resolve this issue but have not received a satisfactory response.
I have now filed a complaint with the BBB, next will be Kansas Departent of Health and Human Services, BlueCross BlueSheild to report fraudulent and deceptive billing practices by this hospital.

Dr in ER very unprofessional. Her name was Lisa.
Another reason another day this worthless hospital just cancelled my mammogram an hour before. If my doctor wasn't so good I'd change and never go back

If I could give negative stars I would. If I was dying i’d rather go to wesley or pass on. While the ER nurses from my experiences have been great, the doctors? not at all. There has been multiple occasions where me and my family have experienced this treatment. they talk to you like you’re stupid and don’t know your own body. They have absolutely NO respect, class, professionalism or ever a care about their patients. They have no communication and again talk to you like you are as dumb as a rock. with everything in me and from the bottom of my heart DO NOT come here.

I am extremely disappointed in the care my mom received while she was in the hospital for sepsis. The evening nurses were rude and handled her rough. I couldn't place my mom back in the this hospital and expect your needs to be met.

The worst place ever. From maternity unit, to the ER, and most definitely the urgent care! These people are rude, unprofessional, no bedside manner, lazy, incompetent, etc. From my daughter almost dying at birth from traumatic birth and now has brachial plexus due to their negligence, I am forever physically affected from them pouncing on top of me to get her out, then having to come back to the ER with her and the ER telling us we must've done something to her because there were NO records from the maternity unit documenting her injuries from birth so they put us through hell further hell from their own negligence, yet again....to being treated like crap and yelled at by an urgent care for simply asking why can they not say if the lobby is busy or not when I called over the phone to check first, before coming in because it was so windy and cold and I was not going to have an infant out in that just to have to wait in a small lobby with other sick people with her. These people are just asinine. Zero more like negative stars. What is up with El Dorado. From the hospital to the Police department to the schools to Walmart. It must be all the oil refinery fumes or something because it's so rampant here...the idiocy stupidity, rude, unprofessional lazy people who are so incompetent it's so disgusting. I've only been here since 2021 and I cannot even believe it all. So traumatizing.

If I could leave 0 stars or even -0 I would, I was in this greedy hospital in Nov of 2021 while on kan-care awaiting SS disability approval. Kan-care adjusted the bill and paid the allotted amount. Now 3 years later this greedy hospital is trying to come after me to pay the remaining balance and even sending bills to my younger brother and my wife trying to collect. What a greedy @$% so called hospital.
Also while I was in there one evening I was not given my evening meal or pain pills an that was after having major back surgery with rods placed in C4,C5,C6 an S1 by the butcher of butler county. Dr L.

Came in for a check out to confirm our suspicion for digestive tract bleeding. Total scam. Made us do some many tests and unnecessary procedures which ended up costing a lot on the bill. We were there for 6 hours! The doctor was literally on his phone half of the time. Taking advantage of our language barrier, the doctor tricked us into signing a paper saying that we agree to transfer into another hospital. We thought that we would be driving to the transferred hospital; however, they sent an ambulance despite us denying and wanting to drive there ourselves. An ambulance ride is expensive. This hospital is a total scam! Nothing really accomplished within that 6 hours we wasted! Never going back to the hospital. The hospital that we got transferred to in Wichita (Wesley Medical Hospital) is way better.

If you are sick and need to visit an urgent care clinic……drive as far away from this one as you can.The 45 minute wait (when it was only me and one other patient) was kind of annoying. You could hear the staff in the back weighing themselves and talking about holiday weight gain etc.Went in for a skin rash. Gave the NP a few different things it could be from. She dismissed them but agreed it was possible. She proceeded to tell me that a doctor can’t tell you what a skin rash is from, just how to treat it. Her treatment included everything…antihistamines, acid reducing pills (as a treatment for an allergic reaction due to it being given by SBA when someone is having a bad allergic reaction), anti-bacterial soap, antibiotics, and Zyrtec….even though I repeatedly said it didn’t itch, just hurt. I was convinced it was from a hot tub skin bacteria. She said unlikely but stay out of hot tubs. Mind you she wrote all this for me on a torn piece of paper towel. Also my blood pressure was pretty high and they said it’s no big deal could be from the rash. And I’ve had worse experiences at the hospital trying to get treatment for my infant. So anyways, I suggest driving to Wichita instead if you need care.

I walked in with a migraine, needing fluids, im still here, it’s been 3 hours, I still have a migraine and I still need fluids. They took blood which makes me more dehydrated, and a urine sample.
