I was changing my name to my married name and even though I had my marriage license, new passport, new DL and updated address mail they wouldn’t change it. I had to close my bank account, walk into the next bank I saw, hand them the paperwork and open an account. Ridiculous. YOU DONT EVEN NEED A SOCIAL SECURITY CARD TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT. 9 years I had an account with them.

I’ve always had issues at this location. It took them nearly 6 months to complete my name change when I got married which I was told multiple times “oh it takes 3-5 business to process”. Employees have problems getting access to their own vault so they can’t access bills larger than $20’s. Not worth your time if you plan on opening a new bank account

Looks they only have 1 employee.Doors are usually locked so you can't go into the lobby.. one employee would rather you leave then have to do something that might be complicated..

They need to not revert to simply calling 800 numbers to verify checks. I called a local branch of commerce in less than 2 minutes as I have now wasted 23 minutes of my day attempting to do their job and apparently it takes more than one person to make one simple phone call

I’ve been with academy bank for six years and have never encountered such rude, unhelpful and unprofessional employees as I did today. One of those employees being the manager Keegan Frazier. Not only did he hang up on me when I became emotional over a dispute error that they had made but he also answered and immediately hung up when I tried calling back. I had to look at the number to be sure I was actually talking to a bank MANAGER or a bank at all. I could not believe how I was spoke to, belittled called a liar and humiliated by the manager of this branch. When I then asked to speak to his manager or the owner he told me that there was no way to contact his manager that his manager had no email or phone number to submit complaints to.Thankfully, after speaking to an employee with the dispute center she helped me resolve this issue and the money should be back in my account Monday morning.I can see why this branch has 2.8 stars on google. DO NOT bank here! Out of all the reputable banks in Kansas City this should be the last one you consider.Also, if Keegans manager happens to see this review please contact me.After this encounter I will be closing all my accounts with academy and will never recommend them to another person.

This place used to be KCB and it's been a year or so since the change. I used to love the people and service at KCB but after the change, TERRIBLE service. The new staff members are not friendly, cold and unhelpful. I will no longer be using their banking services and will not recommend them.
