Great experience! Staff is really nice. I brought my cat in for her yearly shots, and they were very quick and gentle with my cat. Highly recommend!

Took my dog here 8/9/24, he vomited blood that morning (a lot of blood and was dark) brought him in. She gave him anti nausea meds and a shot of antibiotics. I wish she would have just told me she couldn’t help and to take him to the urgent care. Within an hour of leaving here he couldn’t walk very well, wouldn’t touch his water nothing. They said to just keep an eye on him. Next morning I called back because it went even further down hill that’s when they told me to take him to urgent care “because they couldn’t do anything for him” so I did, I wish I would have just done that in the beginning and my boy may still be with me. He was internally bleeding! I had to euthanize him on 10/10/24 in the morning (literally 24 hours after the vet appointment) because he lost too much blood and wouldn’t even make it through blood transfusions.
This dog was a son to me, he was only 6.
This could of been avoided!

We switched vets after we moved to the area and have loved our experiences with Dr. Slyter. He is always patient and answers our questions thoroughly. It’s been 8 years since we’ve had a new puppy so we’ve had our fair share of questions! The ladies up front are always so friendly and personable, and the prices here are very fair compared to a lot of other vets in the KC/JOCO areas. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a new vet!

My dog had eye surgery. The Vet prepared us for what it would look like and everything he had to do. 1week later he is healing so good and you can tell he feels great! Zoomies !! Thank you!!

Took my dog in Monday 8/26/24 because he hadn't been eating or drinking since Saturday. Excessive diarrhea and vomiting. Vet said he was judging by the way my boy was acting which was anxiety and "not sick" gave him some anti vomiting meds and sent us on our way. I told the vet my dog had gotten into trash and tore some stuff up. I wanted x-ray and blood work but vet was being "conservative". Tuesday 8/27/24 after second dose of anti vomiting meds my dog collapsed and I rushed him to emergency med vet where he had emergency surgery for obstruction in his digestive tract. My dog almost died. $5300 not including the $100 I gave Bonner springs veterinary center my dog is home and going to hopefully survive.

We chose this vet after reading such wonderful reviews, and now regretting we did. The front desk woman was very nice and helpful, which is the only reason I’m giving them one star. All the other women in the office acted as if we didn’t exist. The veterinarian came into the room and was incredibly rude and short with me. I attempted to ask a question in regards to my dog and he completely ignored me. The entire visit he kept his back toward me and refused to engage. I personally felt discriminated against due to the fact that I could hear him engaging and conversing with everyone else in the office. Felt like racism/prejudice to me, considering I’m not white and everyone else he was happy to talk to was. I will be traveling outside of the town I live in to get my dog the care he needs.

This vet practice is excellent. While the vet was unable to treat the specific problem with our dog, he was able to explain clearly what would be needed and that he does not do that type of treatment. He did, however, address another issue the dog had, with excellent results. The followup has been exceptional also.

If I could have, I would have given a rating of 0 stars. Dr. Paul Slyter was abusive to my pet during euthanasia. He slammed her to the couch before the first injection, and she ran scared over top of the couch hitting the floor, unable to move. I tried to catch her but couldn't get to her. Dr Slyter immediately left room after injection, not caring if my kitty was injured. Dr. Slyter acted like kitty is being euthanasia, so he didn't care. Angel was on my lap, and Dr Slyter picked her up and placed her on pet furniture used for second injections. I will NEVER return to this abuser and I reported him to have his license taken away.

The ladies at the front desk are always helpful. Dr. Slyter threw my cat Angel on the couch when giving first injection for euthanasia. I tried to comfort Angel and Dr. Slyter said, "I think more help is not needed". After injecting Angel, Dr. Slyter let her go and Angel scared of him ran the best she could up the couch and fell over the couch. Dr. Slater left the room while this happened not caring about his behavior. I moved the couch to get Angel and she couldn't move at this time. He later came back for second injection. I will NEVER return to this Veterinarian and I'll report him in reference to his license being taken away. UNACCEPTABLE VETERINARIAN BEHAVIOR!

My family and I take our pets to Doc and have for years. He’s a true hometown veterinarian that knows his stuff and his patients well. Unlike many veterinarians in the KC area, I have never felt priced out of care for any of my pets. The pricing is fair and the care is fantastic.

I'm always impressed with the care my dog gets when we go in. The ladies at the front desk are spectacular and Dr. Slyter is the best vet I've ever had. My dog went into renal failure after her ear hematoma surgery and he got her in IV fluid therapy immediately. She's still on the mend but he saved her life. I'll never go to another vet.
