I’d like to make a testament to the character of Mr. David Lee! For those of you who don’t know - David has some excellent content on YouTube. I had watched many of his videos multiple times over and was able to soak in some excellent information and learn a lot during my own transmission build. I have come to find that many great transmission builders can often times be quite secretive of their preferences and at times hesitant to offer information to DIYers and even folks like myself. Although an automotive mechanic I do not get much opportunity to perform transmission repairs and have been actively learning and challenging myself with transmission repair in my off-time. I reached out to David in hopes to answer some tricky compatibility concerns regarding TransGo & Sonnax parts for a valve body. David promptly and confidently answered my questions without hesitation and gave me the answers I needed to finish my build. I can tell you without even meeting him that he would be my #1 choice to have rebuild my transmission!!

If you are in need of a transmission shop…there’s no need to look any further. You’ve found it. It’s these guys. Trying to coordinate having repairs done to your ride from 14 hours away, in and of itself, is a pain. Stressful was not even the word for it. When I say the people at Express Auto Transmission went above and beyond that is exactly what I mean. We had a transmission swapped out in no time flat and then there was this issue with the rear end, as in, it was toast. They worked late, went out of their way to get the parts needed to get it rebuilt(with a warranty)…all so we could get back on the road and back to work. Hardworking, HONEST, say what they can do and do what they say kind of folks. The price point is fair. They stand behind their work. You can’t ask for better. Trust me. I know. By far the absolute BEST experience I’ve had dealing with any type of mechanic shop. Choose them. You won’t regret it!

I had a 2008 Ford Edge 3 years ago that needed a transmission rebuilt. He gave me a diagnostic. Set me an appointment. Had the car within a couple weeks. Ran perfect ever since!! In fact I just sold the car with no issues. I bought a 2015 Fusion and I be dang if the transmission didn't start slipping. I called and he got my car right in for a diagnostic. Torque converter and direct clutch is messed up. My car goes in the shop in 4 weeks. And 7 to 10 days to fix. And a reasonable price. He's very trusting, very informative, and a awesome mechanic. Highly recommend!! I won't go to anyone else!!

I asked Express Auto if they could machine my 4L60e pump, and they did not fail to impress. Very communicative, very speedy and also went the extra mile to vacuum test it and found that the PR valve bore needed bored out and the valve replaced, which they did. Did an excellent job. Provided a 12 month 12000 mile warranty and fixed my issue relatively quickly. I had another diagnostic at another transmission shop in Joplin and they were going to charge me 200 to try something that wasn't the issue and then 3k for replacement. No guarantees. This shop was very straightforward and accurate. They fixed the actual issue for 500. I saved 2.7k. Definitely recommend.Service: Transmission
