Thank you for the compassionate, highly competent, and kind consideration shown to us and our sweet Ruby. Ordinarily she would have been fearful, but to our surprise, she was calm and happy in the caring hands of your staff. Thank you so much, Countryside!

When I was a high school student with a part time job, my cat, Smokey, started urinating around the house. I took her to other vets at first, and they gave her medications that treated the problem only temporarily so the pain and peeing issues always came back. I decided to go to Countryside and saw Dr. Bailey O'Brien.
They didn't have appointment slots left in the day, but still accommodated me by letting me drop Smokey off at the clinic when they opened at 8am and told me that they would see her in between appointments. I informed them that I was in a very troubling financial situation and to inform me if she needed anything more costly than a urinalysis so that I wouldn't be surprised by a huge bill.
Dr. Bailey sent me several voicemail and text updates throughout her work day, keeping me updated on Smokey's status. Smokey ended up needing to stay the night and needing both a urinalysis and a sonogram. When I came in later on, Dr. Bailey had printed out pictures of the cultures and numbers from the tests and spent time to explain what every single picture and number on the papers meant in order to help me understand why Smokey received the diagnosis she got.
I had never had a vet, or even a doctor for humans, be this transparent and in-depth before. She spoke to me in easy to understand terms but never made me feel dumb. I really appreciated being able to understand the reasons why Smokey was sick and why she would need a certain treatment, instead of just being told to spend a bunch of money on medicine that I didn't even know why my cat needed.
Since Dr. Bailey was aware of my financial situation, she gave me 3 different treatment plans at different price points and also explained the pros and cons of each one. However, she never made the cheapest option sound like a bad choice. She said that the cheapest option would just take longer to see improvement and would be more tedious to administer (me having to give my cat pills each day at home rather than a one-time shot done in office), but did not make me feel like a bad owner for choosing it. She understood that I wanted to do the best that I could within my financial means.
She even taught me how to administer a saline IV drip to my cat at home so that I wouldn't have to spend money on office visits regularly to have them do it.
I've been seeing Dr. Bailey for a few years now. I'm a loyal client to her because of this. She's a wonderful and caring vet. Even if she leaves Countryside, I'll follow her to wherever she goes next. I feel lucky to have such an attentive vet here in Andover. She was so accommodating during my time of need during a financial crisis and I'll always remember how she treated me even now when I'm in a much better position.

Doesn’t care about the animals just making money. If you drop of plan on picking up by Friday at 2 or they keep your dog till Monday. Dog came back with a sore on his leg and isn’t allowed to play with other dogs because he isn’t neutered so had to be when he was being walked which is an extra charge. Won’t be going back

Simply put…I love this place and so does Dezi! A vet that will get down in the floor because she knows my dog is not comfortable is a vet that has won me business!!! Great job!!!

Dr. Lauren is the most compassionate and patient veterinarian. After I had to let my first dog go unexpectedly last year and I began replaying what I should have done differently in the months after, she was so supportive on that day and maintained through the months following that the outcome would not have changed even with more advanced testing and went above and beyond to reassure me. I still feel terrible for how often I reached out to ask the same questions, but her certainty each time brought me some comfort that it was the right decision and I know that now, even though I’ll always wish my dog’s last day played out differently and I had answers, but I absolutely trust her to have been correct and know she saved us a lot of suffering. So thankful for her and for the other vets and staff members that treat me and all of my pets with such kindness at every appointment, even through the most difficult times. They are great!
