10AM - 7PM
1208 Grand Ave, West Des Moines“interesting place. It comes across as disorganized but it is! Unlike an antique shop this is a multi vendor mall where you have to search and search and hopefully find what you want. Hopefully.”
“Arrived 9 minutes before close on Thursday, November 30th, 2023 and the doors were locked. The lady at the register with a baby blue sweatshirt just glanced at the door.I know it was close to their closing time, but I went back to see if the glass item I didn’t buy earlier that day was still available. If locking the doors 10 minutes before close is the norm, stating that on the hours would be nice to know.Thank you.”

3250 100th St, Urbandale“Great Store! High End furniture brands at really good prices! You won't find a better price anywhere in the Des Moines area. The staff and sales associates there go to great lengths to assure that your satisfied. Also you can consign your high quality furniture, etc there and it is usually sells quickly!5 Stars!”
“Best thrift store in town. Had some cool furniture and the prices were fair. Best of all it’s for a great cause and really helping people who actually need it.”
10AM - 8PM
1690 SE Delaware Ave Suite 105, Ankeny“The facility was very clean and organized. The Me N Mommy To Be crew was knowledgeable and helpful regarding the available merchandise. I will definitely recommend them to others.”
“Absolutely good people. I don’t donate anywhere else. Cheap, great quality items. Their flash sales can’t be beat. This is a NFP that gives your bucks to pay vet bills! No big corporate swindle! It’s a true charity thrift store.”
“Cute little home décor consignment store. Lots to choose from…set up with a very nice flow…prices were not horrible…overall great experience…I will be back!!”
“The staff was friendly prices were fair I like the items I find at the Grimes location more but this one has a better flow more space to move. Both locations are great.”
“Super clean and organized little Thrift store run by very sweet older volunteers. Clothes were organized not just by size but each rack was a type, like shorts or pants or tank tops or bathing suits, etc. Tops were $4 each for the most part and bottoms were pretty much all $5. Knick knacks and everything else were even cheaper”
“Merchandise changes daily. This makes shopping here extremely fun. You just never know what treasure lies within. Of all the thrift stores in the Des Moines area this one stocks antiques and furniture to clothing and toys and everything you can think of in-between. In my opinion most merchandise is on the upper end of the scale, quality wise. Plus, you'll find brand new items never been open. Friendly staff, clean, organized and prices to sell fast. Check it out. Youll never know what you've been missing out on until you go and find it!”
“This place is flipping AWESOME!!!GREAT stuff at fantastic prices. Way way better than any other thrift store in the metro area! Wonderful, helpful staff who seem to always smile and have a sunny disposition! Found multiple pairs of jeans and shorts ( as well as a quality quilt) that were actually CLEAN, no worries of tears or stains with prices that haven't been seen since 1995. Lol. Don't go anywhere else. Stop here first!!Oh and the proceeds go to a worthy cause.. p.s. no sales tax.”
“My first visit to the store and I was very impressed! The store is clean, and very well organized; the staff are very helpful and they treat customers with respect; prices are very reasonable, and I've now got a new favorite place for retail therapy! Keep doing what you're doing, the store and the people who work there are GREAT!”
“Not a bad location — I thought they had a decent selection of items, but nothing top tier. Definitely understaffed, as others have said. I did have to wait in the check out line to ask for a fitting room key, and thankfully the line wasn’t terrible or I wouldn’t have. The employees were super kind about it, though.”
8AM - 4:30PM
Main Entrance, 5355 NW 86th St, Johnston“This is hands down the BEST Goodwill I’ve ever visited. It is very well kept, and I’ve found soooo many hidden gems. Most of the clothes here are also name brands and in excellent condition. Sis, it’s better than Plato’s here. I found brands like Nike, Under Armour, Urban Outfitters, American Eagle, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Altar’d State just to name a few! I was very surprised. I stopped by just to take a quick peak and was there for an hour and a half… oops HAHA. Their fitting rooms are also open. :)”
9AM - 9PM
4620 SE 14th St, Des Moines“I've had pretty good hauls from here. Selection is pretty large, and the store is well organized; not too cluttered but doesn't feel empty either. Also fantastic drop off system. One of the easiest places to donate in the Des Moines metro.”
“ARC was a humbling experience. Did it Florida in 2004. It changed the trajectory of my life. I'm a much better person today. I thank God For the Salvation Army.”
“Was in there looking for picture frames right before close on October 6. EXTREMELY friendly service, every associate I spoke to was helpful and made sure that I found what I was looking for! ???”

211 E Court Ave, Des Moines“Got a senior discount on top of bargains. Lower level is huge! Definitely coming back. Mainly stopped because my shoes for a special event broke and I needed a quick fix. 2 blocks from our hotel it was super convenient too.”
10AM - 7PM
906 E 1st St, Ankeny“Stuff, Etc is such a unique consignment store in the way they sell such great furniture, household items and clothing. Having now moved out of state, it's not common to see such a business!! While living in IA, I sold and shopped from here for many years and can positively say this is a wonderful business. Specifically, the manager Shelby at the Ankeny is absolutely phenomenal!!”
9AM - 9PM
105 E Euclid Ave, Des Moines“Sally's is a good place to look for work clothing, blankets for the cabin, really anything you are looking for you will probably find it there. They have about 4 stores around the Des Moines area”
“A lot of nice things but I don't agree with the prices. Pricing has gotten out of hand which has caused a lg. decrease in my purchasing. This has been voiced to me by a lot of people recently that share in the same views⁵. I hope to see a decrease in prices, in clothing sales &”
“This goodwill is my absolute favorite out of the DSM area Goodwills! ❤️ I was having a rough day so I thought some retail therapy would help, and bless this store. The employees working tonight around close (09/03/24) were so happy and friendly. I kept overhearing happy conversations between coworkers and managers, and between customers and workers, everyone was genuinely happy there. It made my night, and the gal who checked me out was so sweet and kind. It made my night soooo much better. ❤️ Not to mention all the good stuff I found for my fall wardrobe!! Keep it up you guys!!! ?”
9AM - 9PM
6630 Mills Civic Pkwy, West Des Moines“Pretty good location to drop off unneeded items. Very convenient and fast drive through drop off. However, in terms of the shopping experience, it's pretty average. Selection is alright, and the walking space feels a bit too tight. Overall a pretty alright Goodwill.”
9AM - 9PM
801 S Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny“I hope someone there is listening because this is a big problem with your clothing. You guys use a punch gun with much thicker plastic threading than most thrift stores. That’s not a problem if you are punching it through the tag or somewhere that isn’t going to be noticeable. I can’t tell you how many items that are left with a very obvious hole because people just punch it wherever they feel like. Through the collar, back of the shirt, it’s terrible. There’s no reason if there is a hang tag you cannot punch it through there so you’re not puncturing the actual fabric and leaving a hole. I almost wish you guys would go back to stapling the tags on. At least when you removed the staple, it did not leave a noticeable hole. I’ve enclosed two photos. The first is the wrong way. Using a punch gun right through a leather collar leaving a very noticeable hole. The second photo is the way you guys need to be doing this all the time. Through the hanging tag only. On the positive – you guys have really cleaned up your stores over the past five years. Prices are quite a bit higher than most other thrift stores, but if you have the patience, you can still still find great stuff for a decent price.”
9AM - 9PM
9997 University Ave, Clive“The food pantry is great! The guy who helps check people in is super cool and awesome! I absolutely love how they hire people with disabilities to help stock and do thing in the back. I bring a lot of my clients here.”
“I work at a competing thrift store, so I can safely say that the Hope Ministries Thrift Store offers similar quality merchandise compared with the store where I work. In all fairness, high quality donations translate into high quality merchandise that thrift store customers prefer to purchase!”
“Great bins! Was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. Went shortly after opening, not very crowded, lots of carts available. I found quite a bit and will definitely go back! I like how the hard goods were separate from the rest of the items. Large selection of clothing.”
“Love this shop! Fantastic selection, great staff and hellful volunteers. Best of all is Cristina. She may be part time, but man would she make a great manager. Always happy to recognize regular shoppers and first timers alike.”
