I’m not sure what is happening with your staff but you really need to hire some QUALITY people! To try and tell a staff member that there is a particular machine that you’d really love to use but aren’t able to due to the machine being so heavy and hard to manage, having tried explaining myself over and over and over while feeling as though they couldn’t comprehend what I was saying to the 2 ladies at the front counter; the younger gal kept saying to me “well I can use it and don’t have a problem” while disregarding my frustration and making it only about herself, beyond rude and disrespectful! Another frustrating issue is the lady who works on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the EGym counter put my wrong email in and because of this I’m not able to use the EGym app on my phone, the app asks for a password and I am not able to put in a password due to the confirmation email won’t come to my correct email address and THERE IS NO WAY FOR THE FRONT DESK EGYM ASSISTANT TO CHANGE IT !!!!!!!For goodness sakes please figure out a way to correct this issue and make it possible for them to correct a email if put in incorrect!!And please tell your staff that when a member is bringing a issue to their attention that they need to be attentive and respectfully listen and respond with courtesy and understanding, not act self centered and stand there as if you only have 1brain cell in their head !! I’d be rather ashamed having staff that acted in this manner and you should be able to understand why people are leaving angry reviews. DO BETTER!!

For about two years, I have been attending Barre classes with Noelle as the professional, highly trained instructor. It is because of Noelle that I have been able to continue and participate in class. She modified the ballet positions, so that I am not in pain. I stand differently then everyone else in class-but who cares!Ruth

I did work here a long time ago, and met my husband here so I'm biased. Love the walnut creek Y, the childcare staff are amazing. They really look after my kid and knew his name after 1 visit. The weight room does need different machines. Some things that should adjust, don't. Some equipment isn't used often, some typical gym equipment isn't here. Pretty mediocre weight room, but we make it work.

There's an older gentleman that works here that seems to always have his hand on younger people's shoulders when talking to them, though he does not know them. The unnecessary familiarity is both odd and disconcerting. One time I witnessed the same worker upset over an incident upstairs and, when a female coworker tried to intervene, he pushed her out of his way. I told her she should file a complaint but she said she was okay, though something like that would never fly in any other workplace. I had also witnessed on multiple occasions behaviors and interactions in the men's locker room that I believe required law enforcement because the ymca staff on the premises at that time did not feel comfortable to deal with it. Their policy entails filing an "incident report" that goes into a filing cabinet never to be seen again. This location should be looked at more closely by law enforcement. Being the ymca and with the family clientele and swim programs they do not want to draw any attention.

We have been going here basically daily for almost 2 years now (me, my wife and 2 kids) and LOVE it! Everything has been amazing! The staff is always so nice and helpful and greets you upon entering as well as saying goodbye on your way out. The learn and play center is awesome! ALL of the staff that work in there are amazing, we never worry about our kids there and they always have a good time! You can usually always find machines and weights available even at busy times and I appreciate their hard work in keeping up with maintenance and repairs. I totally understand funding may be low at times and it can take some time for repairs (getting parts, making the repairs, etc), but they are very good about keeping everyone in the loop if something is not working. They really do theirs best with issues that are clearly out of their control at times. The classes are all awesome, (especially body pump with Chrissy!) 10/10 would recommend! I have never once been, or seen, anyone mistreated by staff members! Nothing but good things to say!

I have taken my daughter to the playground and when I want to pick her up from there, my daughter has red on her head and she complain from pain. I have go back to the stuff of playground and I asked them about what happened and why my child has red on her head but they told me that they did not know what happened, so I asked them if they watch kid and if watch her how they did not know what happen but one of them told me that accident can happen in daycare. I am not happy from taking my daughter there and I regret taking my daughter there because it is not safe to take my little daughter there.

Has many great aspects, though, the upgrade to the e gym is disappointing. I can no longer control my own work out with the weight machines and have to use their preset programs. I go for the machines because I can run outside unless bad weather. Other YMCA's offer the traditional machines but it is at an inconvenience now having to drive further.

It is literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have been screamed at by employees because their system doesn't work and I have been kick out of the pool with my son, because their employees don't know their own rule (which are available on their own website).I regret giving the Y a chance. This is not a gym if you expect employees to treat you kindly or know their jobs.I was told today (2/28/23) by a staff member that the faculty is for adults and not children. Any child that is in the way of an adult is unacceptable. We were asked to cancel our membership because we wanted to have our 3 year old to be able to use the pool with my husband, teaching him how to swim. We pay for a family membership. The YMCA is not for families. They do not like or want children there.

Buyer beware! Staff yelled at my wife and acted unacceptably rude within the first week of membership due to their computer system not setting up profiles correctly from the internet. The Y will discriminate you and your family. Recently purchased a family plan and my 3 yr. old son was removed from site due to me attempting to EDUCATE my son how to swim (when their rules stated anyone 16 and younger merely needs to be accompanied by an adult). They will have a closed door meeting and change the rules without any cause or reason and DISCRIMINATE against their PAYING CUSTOMERS.

Lots of great workout equipment here, plus great, friendly staff. Especially like the pilates class on Tuesdays - Marty does an excellent job instructing!

This is a 5-star YMCA. High quality (and clean) facilities, especially the locker room and swimming pool. I'm especially grateful to the staff for saving my bathing suit in their lost & found. I have lost countless items at various YMCAs, none of which I've ever recovered, so I was naturally delighted when they came to my rescue. Very friendly and professional. Thanks!

I love the movement class, wish it was more than an hour, sometimes. I prefer to do it all in the deep end, it's a little harder but more low impact.

We loved coming here for the first time. I'm glad they have a basketball court in case the big courts are being used for an event or an activity.
