Horrible experience. We made reservations MONTHS in advance. We show up to check in and they say room isn't ready. We go to lunch, come to check in. ooops, overbooked us by 14 rooms. Wait for hours for GM to show up. The downgraded us to a hotel that was half the cost. we reserved for state baseball. We were paying for an experience for my son. What we got was stuck in a hotel miles away from his friends, isolated. Front desk was rude. The maintenance guy came up to be security. Told us they can bump us bc we didn't have the points that others had. We sat and watched people check in as we waited. What a joke of an establishment.
***GM did try to make it right. He did comp our next night. He threw a pizza party for the entire team and gave us a conference room so we could socialize together.

The tv service is horrible. Don’t expect to watch a show or movie without service interruption. WiFi is just as bad. Checking out tried to get a printed receipt and the person manning the counter couldn’t do it. I expect more from a Marriott.
Noteworthy details: Horrible WiFi and tv/movie service. Don’t expect to work from this location.

Stayed for a family wedding. Property was decent, could use some updates in the elevators as they are pretty bad with cracked tiles and filthy dirty. Staff did a great job with the reception and the room we stayed in was decent. A lil overpriced in my opinion but our overall experience was good.

Rooms were clean and updated. Televisions were not super user friendly. Confusing UI experience. More importantly, the front desk staff was not friendly. I was met with frowns and annoyance.

Stayed here a few weeks ago. Interesting series of events.....called a few days prior to see about an upgrade, after 30 min on hold, I was hung up on. When I checked in, I was offered the Presidential Suite (very nice concession), room was fine. Television was broken as well as the phone. I ordered room service on that night (via cell phone). Food never came. Set the order menu out for breakfast in the room, never occured. Notified staff, they apologized and the lady said "I sent maitenence a text yesterday....and I can't expalin the lack of food delivery".....
I will say, the Front desk manager did offer points for the lack of customer service in being hung up on, and also additional points for the lack of ammenities/food service, so there was an attempt to rectify the situation
I will say this.,...I got the impression that this facility caters to persons who are in a convention or are there for business travel that is attached to the hotel....
It should be noted though, the M club was the best breakfast food that I have had at many facilities (went down after food was never delivered).
In West Des Moines, unfortunately, I think I would rather be staying at the Courtyard, Sheraton, or another Marriott property

Stayed here for a soccer tournament. Great hotel! Great bar and restaurant!! Christine was amazing, especially with it being so busy and being the only server there. Would highly recommend the hotel and even just going to JC Craft and Co for dinner and drinks. Make sure you request Christine!!!

Had a great one night stay. Dinner downstairs, then breakfast again in the morning.
Shelly is the lady attending the items she is helpful and very pleasant to chat with early in the morning.
Will definitely stay again

We stayed at the Marriott West Des Moines this pas weekend and had nothing but a great experience! The shuttle van driver was already waiting for us when we arrived at the airport. The hotel has been recently renovated and was very clean. The M Club lounge was a nice perk for my Premier status and the design of that space was thoughtfully crafted! The lady who oversees its operation was so friendly and attentive. The location served us well as a go between the airport and Waukee. If we are ever back in the area I'll certainly come back for a second stay!

JW MarriottThursday eveningCheck in by Night auditor?1. Computer not working2. No welcome gift for Lifetime Titanium3. M Club Door not working - ended up being a fuse resetFriday 7:15 pm1. M Club club door not opening again2. Front desk lady explains to how to use the magnetic key( like I can’t use one) She resets my keys and they still don’t work.3. I ask her what she is going to do , she said I told you I was calling someone. ( I never heard her say it)4. I asked her to call my room 716 when the door was fixed. Never called.5. Later I came down to help my wife bring items in and I checked the door- it was open. Bit concerning.6. I also pointed out the serious moisture condensation on the widow of 716 which was running down and pooling on the window ledge and then on to the wall.Sat morningGentleman at from desk1. I pointed out the serious moisture condensation on the widow of 716 again because I didn’t believe the lady who didn’t call me about the M Club door would pass it on, which was running down and pooling on the window ledge and then on to the wall.

This hotel is for families/kids. Do not stay here if you want quiet/sleep after 7am.Pros- clean rooms- great location- friendly staffCons- the room next to me had 3 kids staying in it. They slammed the door repeatedly (I counted 4x in less than one hour) when I spoke to the front desk they said they didn't have any rooms to switch me to but that their door was broken and thats why it slammed. The employee also mentioned she had put a work order in for the door previously but would do so again. The kids stopped before i returned at 10p until they started again in the morning. They offered me free breakfast but I would have preferred to sleep in past 7am.- the key pad for the north entrance is broken like wires hanging out. A little sketchy and inconvenient if you have luggage.- the rooms are outdated in general. There is no USB ports which is quite odd. I spoke to a couple at dinner who said they've been traveling the country and even the cheaper hotels had USB ports. The hotel is an a very accessible location so I just walked to Walmart and bought one.Overall it's an okay hotel for families (parents who want their kids to have their own room to run wild) otherwise dont book for more than one night.

Great location, nice and clean, great staff. Smaller run of the mill room, but it was clean and did the job. REALLY chlorinated pool, so know that. Nice enough place for the price.
