The staff are very professional, friendly, caring, and nice. I felt like the staff truly listened to me when I gave feedback about what I liked or didn’t like about a dress.
I can tell that whoever is in upper management, really knows how to train employees on how to care for customers. Not once was I ever pressured into buying a dress, which made me feel super comfortable and felt like I could really enjoy my experience. I always got the impression that the employees are also well taken care of by their boss, which i feel definitely helps create a positive atmosphere.
The only downside about this store is that I wish the store was bigger so they can expand their collection and that they had a seamstress at the actual store. They do give a list of recommended seamstress. I understand why they don’t have a seamstress but I think it would help them “stand out” from the rest of the bridal shops in the area.

We would not recommend The Tux Shop. We used them for our wedding for 3 suits, and none of them fit properly.
The suit we received (groom) did not fit in the slightest. The jacket was too large. The pants were too small and over 6" too short. We returned the next day (Friday morning) to address the issues. We were told that style of suit we picked was not meant for his build and wouldn't have fit regardless. He was measured in their store, so this should have been mentioned at that time rather than the day before the wedding.
They were overall quite rude and very unhelpful in correcting the situation and were adamant they were not at fault and would not offer a refund or discount. Their solution was ordering another suit to be picked up between 1-2pm on our wedding day and hope it fit. After the previous misstep, this wasn't a feasible option nor a risk we were willing to take, so we were out $200+.
I would highly recommend you go to Skeffington's. They were able to get us a suit same day and were amazing to work with!

A wonderful experience. This was our 1st time to look for a dress and I was very pleased with the store and staff. Brynlea was so hopeful, and Carolyn came over to help pick more dresses. I would highly recommend this shop. We definitely found a couple potential "it" dresses and couldn't say enough nice things about the ladies who helped make this special day great.

Going to Weddings By Design to find my wedding dress was the best decision I could have made! Jan was my consultant and she was AMAZING! I went in with an idea of what I wanted and she helped pick dresses that fit that idea, as well as some to give different styles a try. Jan was never pushy, even when encouraging me to try on different styles than I thought I would like. She made the experience so fun and I felt no pressure and at ease the whole time. She reminded me that if I didn’t like something, I could just take it off. Jan encouraged me to try on a dress that was beautiful and that’s the one I ended up choosing! I would recommend Weddings By Design to anyone who is looking for a fun, no pressure, and amazing experience when finding their dream dress!

I worked with Jan to find my wedding dress, and I could not have asked for a better experience. Jan was professional, knowledgeable, honest ... she knows her stuff! She worked so hard to find the dress best for me and my body type. She was so good at taking what I liked or disliked about a certain dress, and finding another option to try on. Jan's service and knowledgeable deserve a 5 star review. My review is only a 4/5 because the shop did not call me when my wedding dress arrived - my mom had to call and check on the dress after we started getting nervous. The dress was in store, they just didn't notify us. Not a huge deal - overall we really enjoyed our experience at Weddings by Design!

Melissa, the owner of Weddings By Design, was very welcoming to myself and family into the store and was very knowledgeable about her inventory and what she had to offer. She was very flexible and had a very bubbly personality. If you are a bride or a groom looking for a dress or suit, I highly recommend this store. It was a great experience to have.

I worked with Jan at the West Des Moines location and I was so impressed with my appointment. Jan was professional and offered good advice and feedback based on what I did and didn’t like about the dresses I tried on. She quickly figured out my style and interests and was able to supply other dresses for me to try on. While I didn’t find *the* dress for me, I was very impressed with my appointment and would definitely recommend this store for all brides-to-be!

They will hand out wine and give you 100% of their attention when your trying on and purchasing (spending a lot of money) but when you go back for final fitting, you are an inconvenience and not worth their time. I was so mad to see my soon to be daughter-in-law treated like she was wasting their time when it’s suppose to be her special day. Shame on this place!!! Will not recommend them to anyone.

Rylie was wonderful at helping me find my perfect dress, she helped me pick out the dress styles that best fit my dream dress description, with my budget in mind, and was even happy to amuse me by letting me try on gorgeous dresses that I wouldn’t be saying yes to. I didn’t feel rushed for time at all, it was a fun and relaxing experience and my perfect dress was waiting for me there!

I had the MOST amazing experience at Weddings by Design! It was my first shop looking for a wedding dress and the whole staff made me feel extremely welcome and special. I was nervous but every person I worked with made me feel at ease and were extremely helpful. Jan helped me exclusively with trying on the dresses and she was WONDERFUL. Honestly, she made my experience the best it could have been. She was kind, informative, knowledgeable, professional, and funny! She didn't pressure me at all and gave me sound advice. It was like having a family member helping me. She made the experience fun! When I came back to try on my dress again after a few hours everyone remembered me and was so happy to see me! They were all invested in which dress I was going to get. Thank you to everyone, and to Jan especially, for making my experience so special!
