I have been to all 3 locations in Iowa and I am very disappointed…Not once did anyone asked if I needed help or anything… The workers would walk by me and not even look at me… I feel more uncomfortable walking into Ulta I will not be returning back to Ulta ever again. The beauty industry isn’t what it used to be.

The customer service at the Ulta in West Des Moines location is very poor. The disrespect the individual checking my mom out was very horrible. We will no longer be shopping here and we have always been repeat customers. It is ridiculous my mom couldn’t use my rewards as they are not theirs and should not tell me how they are used. We will no longer shop here.

This store is always prompt and never over bearing and have such a great diversity! I feel that's super important-also I can go to Ulta without have to compete with kids or teens for skincare, (it really is overly packed there for some kids just getting samples..)much calmer atmosphere than Sephora and really enjoy the helpfeom everyone!

Manager wouldn't do my return on a parfum that I had after 60 days I only used it ones paid 137.00 dollars for it, I understand that after 60 days they policy says they won't refund you cash or money back but the policy return did say they should have given me a store credit and I would have been ok with that. I go there a lot and always spend anywhere from 250.00 to 300.00 at a time but not anymore I will not be returning to ulta instead I will now be a customer at sephora

TLDR: Clean store, great customer serviceExperience today around 4:15 pm was overall excellent. After a few minutes of looking around the two of us were approached by who I later learned was Sasha/Sacha. She asked if we were finding everything alright. I had a question about combs which she answered confidently (it appears she really knows the store) and then followed up by checking the aisle. Then another question about online price versus in store price and another question about makeup applicators.We came in not necessarily looking like we belonged in Ulta (both no makeup, older comfy clothes). We were both treated with kindness and respect and as though our questions and business were important.While looking for the makeup applicators she offered to bring them to us so we wouldn't have to keep walking around the store (so thoughtful). What Sasha found was close but a little larger than we wanted. Another employee, who's name I also later asked for, (Jess) had been stocking. She must have overheard us because just after Sasha showed us what she had found, Jess popped up holding the style we had been looking for.Sasha also informed the cashier about the price discrepancy to give her a heads up, and she came over while we were checking out to make sure the price was adjusted correctly. (This makes me think maybe she is in a more senior position). Cashier was kind and courteous as well.In 2023 it is a breath of fresh air to find employees who are customer service oriented and willing to go above and beyond. There was also many staff members in store today. Maybe not being overworked/understaffed also creates a healthy work environment/culture. Also appreciated that even though neither of us was giving "beauty guru" today that we were still treated very well. I will be back when a need arises for more beauty/premium hair care products. (My only thing is I wish they had more styling tools). Thank you Sasha, Jess, and team Ulta at WDM University blvd location

This Ulta is the best out of all the others in Des Moines. I have never had a bad experience here like I have at other locations. I went in to find a new face primer that would work on my skin and left with a new skin care routine that has really helped my skin! Thank you Lisa for your time and for being so kind! I am so happy with the improvement in my skin in just the last week! This is the only Ulta I will go to from now on!

if you’re looking for someone who’s a quick expert in color matching seek out ANNA! I’d been looking for a light glowy foundation that won’t pill up on my skin and they suggested the radiant glow concealer (never would’ve thought of that) as a good option to blend out with a beauty blender for the effect I was looking for. So insanely helpful. Give them a raise !! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Service was not good. Kylee was more concerned about talking with her Co worker rather than realizing I've been waiting to be checked out. I purchased 3/4 jars of body scrubb. Instead of offering a bag to put my products in she asked if I'd like to plop them in my purse ? I asked her " Why would I do that," She rudely stated I just thought you would. I just want to know why I wasn't offered a bag like everyone else?? I came back to ask for the rude employee's name and also voiced my issue with another employee. She then lied and said "There's a shortage of bags...really. I understand defending your co workers but she really could have came up with something else to say rather than that obvious lie .

Had a hair appt scheduled three weeks ? in advance. Got a call from staff needing to reschedule the day before the appt. We rescheduled to the following weekend. I made arrangements for my kids and expected a "me," day. Arrived there and waited about 20 mins after my scheduled appt. Finally a staff member came and told me that their stylist had called in sick, mind you, this is the same lady I had an appt with the previous week. They called their sister salon to see if they had any openings and of course they didn't. She offered me to reschedule 5 weeks away with the same stylist. I declined. I made arrangements for my kids and even cut my vacation short to get to this appt. Not impressed. I was transitioning to Ulta from another stylist and needless to say.... I won't be back......... Very disappointed ? I was looking forward to getting my hair done for the first time in years and ended up in my car bursting into tears

I’ve been shopping Ulta for years, they have most of the brands that I use, but not all of them. Staff is helpful if you have any questions. I miss the St. Joe location, it was so much bigger and carried more brands and sizes. For Make-Up and skincare, as well as blow dryers and flat irons, I recommend Ulta. They don’t have the best deals for hair care as their competitor does. However I highly recommend Ulta.
