Josh is the best stylist/barber in town! He's also got a degree in psychology so in other words, he is a good listener and will cut your hair like you want it! His specialty is Mullets! He is know all over east side of Des Moines for this! No im kidding there! However if you did want to rock a mullet he is the best stylist/barber in town! Everyone at Sunnys salon is a cut above the rest!

I had great experiences here before my last cut. I asked for a slightly different style bangs, which I had asked about ahead of time and the stylist had agreed he could do it. I ended up with quite literally the worst haircut of my life. I immediately called every other salon in the area to get it fixed and ended up having to go to a Great Clips. They were able to fix it up enough for me to be able to leave my house, but I still will have to grow out this horrible cut for the next several months. To tell you how horrible this cut was, I was told it looked like the Berries and Cream character and that I looked like a little peasant boy. It was really THAT BAD. It’s the worst thing when someone messes up your appearance so much because you have to live with it until it grows out and it majorly affects your self esteem. I seriously have not left the house as much as I normally do because my hair is THAT BAD. I will never return to this salon and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else after this truly horrible experience.Service: Bang trim

SUNNY SONS HAS MOVED TO NEW LOCATION; NO LONGER IN VALLEY WEST MALL! Have had great ease in scheduling color & cut with Jodi - he is my colorist of choice at this salon.

Kathy and the Sunny's team are absolutely amazing! I love the friendly vibe when you walk in the door! I always have the best experience and cut here and will not go anywhere else for my haircut ?

Don't go there for color!! Wasted my money, had to go to another salon to get it fixed. I asked for subtle highlights that blended with my natural color, got very stripey highlights with too much contrast. The application was poor. They over processed the hair around my face to the extent that some of it broke off. The cut wasn't bad, but if you are particular about your hair color, look elsewhere.Services: Highlights
