I've been happy with this clinic until today. I feel like I wasn't listened to...at all. front desk staff didn't try to answer my question when I inquired about paying for services up front that I know insurance will not cover. Yes, please make things hard for the patient!

Dr Steinmann is a smart, caring doctor. Unfortunately the clinic as a whole leaves a lot to be desired. Timeliness is absolutely terrible, prescriptions are late, results are sent in the mail/take weeks to receive and good luck getting anyone to call you back. The front of desk staff told me wrong information numerous times when calling in to check about tests. When I called again they told me "I am an adult it is not the responsibility of the clinic to call me with results every time I get a test done". If you can live with those issues, especially when it comes to health it will be a good fit for you. Unfortunately in 2024 I cannot recommend this clinic to anyone I know...

We had our first visit at Steinmann’s and Alyssa Hickey was wonderful! She made myself and my girls feel welcomed and comfortable. She was informative, but not pushy. I’m glad we’ve found a clinic/provider that we can feel at home with!

My first visit with Dr. Steinman was 22 years ago when I was 16 and he just told me I was pregnant with my first child. He never judged me or made me feel like I was anything other then a soon to be first time mom unlike anyone else. It didn't matter that I was 16 what mattered was the safety and health of me and my unborn son. Since then he's given birth to not only one boy but was also there for the loss I had with another premature birth. He cared about me and my emotional well being. Due to him being unavailable while starting his own practice and me having a high risk pregnancy that ended in a C-section he wasn't there for the birth of my other 3 however he has been the pediatrician and doctor they all continue to go to. I'll never go anywhere else unless I have to. My boys love him and continue to go to him. He's not just a doctor he's human and he truly cares... Thank you Dr. Steinman for your 21+ years of service to me and my boys! Thank you for always being a phone call away and always available. There isn't and never will be another you! There's no other words to describe the appreciation I have for you!

Dr Steinmann's nurse Melissa is very rude, insulting. She'll ask a question and then either not give you the opportunity to answer or she'll argue with anything you say. Very unprofessional and unethical. Dr. Steinmann refuses to listen to any complaint regarding her including how she lies and insults people and he alleges personality conflict instead of acknowledging the problem with this nurse and addressing it. She is not good at lab draws and has blown my mom's veins on multiple occasions and blames her veins yet she's the only one who ever has a problem with drawing my mom's blood. This practice isn't worth the headaches they cause with their unprofessionalism and lack of ethics.

Stay away from Dr. Ed Steinman. He lies and doesn't care what you think. He thinks he's always right so don't bother asking questions. His staff is rude, especially the nurses. Nurse Melissa is cocky, condescending and belligerent. She cuts you off when trying to answer her questions. She's just plain mean. Nurse Tamira is absolutely incompetent. If you call and she answers, hang up. She doesn't know what she's talking about and she mumbles on purpose. It seems like she's trying to pick a fight. Beware of this Clinic. They don't treat you with care or respect. I'd rather cut off my leg than deal with these amateurs.

Dr Steinman seemed great at first, but after my husband told him how much pain he was in, he neglected to send in his prescriptions. This is after I had to call and remind them to send it over after we were waiting at the pharmacy for it. This morning when I went to retrieve his prescription the pharmacy they had informed me they never got it sent in. I then drove to the office in the below zero weather we have to see that the office is in fact closed, which is NOT listed on the website or Google. So now my husband will not he able to attend any Christmas festivities or see any family this year. I've never had such atrocious service from a healthcare provider before. The office isn't even open until 12/27 so my husband has to sit in pain for that long. I'm honestly shocked at lack of compassion from a doctors office.

I was unexpectedly forced to find a new doctor, during a time that doctors were not taking on new clients, and the doctors that did, the visits were months out. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. At the first visit, I started to explain my situation to Dr. Ed Steinmann. He said now wait, lets just sit here and get to know each other first. And we talked.After a few visits, as fate would have it, my elderly mother also needed a new physician. She has many health issues, and some that she will deny. Dr. Steinmann addresses those with her, putting himself in the first person. "You know, I have this annoying (whatever the diagnosis in denial is that day) and it really sucks. But since I lived on a farm, you did also, right? (always engaging her), this is what that experience showed me".. and he goes on to completely relate to her history, draw on her strengths and give understanding empathy. He never glances at me to confirm answers, she is his sole focus.So while I love him as my doctor, I absolutely adore him for becoming my mom's friend.

I wish I'd have known about this medical clinic sooner. Everyone from the front desk staff to the nurses to Dr. Steinmann himself are incredible. It's never rushed, they're friendly and patient, and I've never felt like a burden or just a paycheck for them. I'm very happy to be a patient there.

Angie provided phenomenal care for our newborn and really made us feel at ease being new parents. She listened to and supported all of our wishes. Super bubbly, friendly, and knowledgeable! Highly recommend!

I was reading some of the prior reviews about the front desk staff. Every time I have ever called or had an appointment in the office, the staff (including the front desk) have always been amazing! I once had a billing issue on labwork and they went above and beyond to help. Dr. Steinmann (Mr) is the best! I drive 4 hours each way to go see him. He listens, he cares, he understands, he doesn't assume. He is the best. I would fly into Des Moines if necessary to keep him as my physician.Good doctors are HARD to find.Thank you Steinmann Family Health for all you do! YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!
