I had a wonderful experience at Schaffer's! It was very easy to set up an appointment and the service was wonderful. I was able to try on more dresses than I thought I would but did not feel rushed at all. Staff are so kind! Highly recommend!

I had a fantastic experience at Schaffer’s and would recommend them to any bride looking for a wedding gown! I had a small group that went to a few different shops around the Des Moines metro and we found the experience, dress selection, and customer service to be the best at Schaffer’s.

We tried a few different bridal shops but kept thinking about the great experience I had here with Kimberly! She was professional and supportive. She listened first to the bride and helped build my confidence. She gave her full attention to the appointment and pulled additional dresses based on what I liked/disliked. She was respectful of budget. She was assertive in a really helpful way so that I could make a decision! There was a wide selection of dresses and they are sorted by budget, which helped reduce the temptation to try something above budget. Everything came in on time, scheduling was easy and quick, and they have in-house alterations (although a bit spendier than I think it would have been if I took my dress somewhere else. I paid for convenience!). They steamed my dress before I took it home and never made me feel rushed when attending fittings. Would recommend to anyone!

I had a terrible experience purchasing a wedding dress at Shaffers. During the fitting, the seamstress put her hand down my shirt unexpectedly and grabbed each of my breasts to move them. She tried to do it again, and I expressed that I would move them myself, and she could direct me. I was rattled from this without any warning or asking for permission. Before this, I was fitted with a dress several sizes too big, and was not able to see the original style of the dress (mermaid) which looked more like a sheath style clipped up on my body. I loved how it looked and expressed how it was fitted in the right places but flowed out in the places I wanted (sheath), but the consultant did not highlight how it would fit as a completely different style in my size. When it came in my size, it was a true mermaid style, tight and loose in different places than how it was clipped in the larger size (makes sense, but I had no idea). I needed to adjust it smaller in some areas and larger in others, and the seamstress pushed back on a lot of my requests, saying it would ruin the integrity of the style. This, along with the unwanted hand down my shirt made it difficult to communicate and be on the same page. I explained that I wanted the style to be what I tried on initially, and after getting several 2nd opinions of professional seamstresses, it was determined I needed a larger size if I wanted a sheath style. However, Shaffers would not exchange the size or work with me to try to get the style I originally tried on and thought I bought. I brought it to another seamstress outside of Shaffers who was honest about the sizing and adjustments and said it would not be likely that it would look anything like the picture. I brought all this to the attention of the manager of Shaffers and she expressed that I had signed a contract and they would not do anything but send me back to the seamstress who I initially had a bad experience with. Her communication felt dismissive and invalidating, and there was no customer service accommodations for such an expensive purchase. I have had exchanges, discounts and no questions asked for clothing and items half the price. I ended up having to buy a new dress and sell both. Overall, for the price-point and compared to the shops I went to after this, it was a terrible experience. I will not be recommending Shaffers and will be intentional to share my experience in the hopes that no one else has to go through that same experience!

I visited multiple bridal shops, but kept coming back to Schaffer's. Jeneka was so patient with each visit and never pressured me to make a decision. She created the best atmosphere, provided great feedback, was body positive, and made the appointments all about the bride. I said yes to the dress thanks to her!

I had the best experience at Schaffers bridal. A huge thank you to Jennica for taking my stress away and for reassurance that I had enough time to order a dress. I couldn’t have asked for better help than her. They have so many beautiful dresses. You are definitely in good hands if you choose to shop there!

Had a wonderful experience from the beginning! So grateful for their wide selection off the rack (was worried about having a shorter engagement and not having time to order it / alterations), but found my dream dress that first visit! Everyone is so kind and friendly, and grateful for their alterations team in-house (very quick & helpful, listened to my requests for the bustle).
