I stayed here one night in December of 2023. I slept in my clothes and was covered from the neck down except for my hands. I woke up with bites on both of my hands. They are itchy and swollen. I've only ever had this reaction to flea bites before. I suspect there were bed bugs or fleas in my room (I did check beforehand but didn't see any obvious signs). They are really awful. The hotel itself did have an odor - I'd describe it as burnt vacuum smell. I woke up with a stuffy nose which I assume is due to poor air quality/ventilation. The room I stayed in looked modern but was not clean - I found hair in the sink, in the fridge, and all over the floor. Honestly for the price I paid, though it was the lowest in the area, I expected better quality. I would definitely never stay here again. If you do stay here, I definitely wouldn't bring in any of your luggage because there is either a bed bug or flea infestation!

This was my first time staying at a motel 6 since a lot of the other hotels were booked the weekend I traveled through Iowa for some reason. It’s not an extravagant hotel (nor does it advertise itself as one). It’s right next to a Marriott in corporate corridor, right off I-80. I arrived at 10 pm and felt pretty safe. The room and bathroom were clean and you can tell the hotel was recently renovated. I didn’t smell cats or pet odors like other reviews have said. The room was clean and very basic. (The ruffle in my photo of the bed was from me checking for bed bugs, there were *no* signs of them anywhere on the mattress)There was noise from the highway that I thought would keep me up all night, but turning on the fan on the air conditioner drowned that out all night. The shade was also basically a blackout shade so I didn’t get woken up by the sun.Water pressure was great, hot water didn’t run out, but bring your own toiletries. The one very difficult thing to deal with was the door to the room. This thing was heavy as **** and really hard to close. I have carpal tunnel had to use my hip to open the door it was so heavy and stuck. Getting it closed was really difficult and loud. The hallway was a little unkept but they have been doing construction and all the dust looked like basic construction debris

I was a bit concerned with the hotel but after getting into our room it wasn't bad. We needed a place where we could bring our dogs. Stayed 2 days and had a great time. Room was clean but was disappointed the room didn't have a microwave-had to go down to main lobby to use microwave. I think we would stay again if we are passing thru.

Older motel, a little rough around the edges, but the room still has the same modern interior as the newer Studio 6 we recently stayed in. Polite staff. Fridge in room, microwave in lobby... wait, where's the coffee??Whew. They have coffee in the lobby in the morning. Tiny cups that you pump your coffee into from dispensers and dump your cream and sugar into from dispensers, hoping you get the right amount since there are no spoons or individual packets. Cheap cheap cheap. At least there was coffee though.Wifi free or pay, free is slow and limited.I give it two and half stars. Minus a half star for the coffee, but rounded up to three since they were cool with our cats spending the night.

It was a fine place for me and my teen to stop overnight on a cross country trip. Motel 6 is definitely no frills but it was clean and comfortable. It was nice that the tv had HBO.The price was the most reasonable in the area when we were staying. Last year we stayed at a more upscale place a few miles away that was definitely nicer (carpeting, nicer looking room) but that property's prices were too high this year. Anyway, if you're looking for basic, clean accommodation you could do a LOT worse...I've stayed at some of those, too, unfortunately.

I’ve stayed at this hotel on several occasions just because of the rate, and the fact that they accept pets. For several years, I’ve been staying at the hotel on and off I’ve always had issues with workers at the front desk, scan them having nasty attitudes toward me for no reason, I’ve had issues with the older white guy with the long hair always grown in a negative mood seems a bit racist. I have had issues with the agent, lady and her attitude and negative line of questioning. I have a had issues with Indian guy who works the front desk , who has a very negative personality as well. I didn’t care up until attempted to rent a room after being followed and harassed by the police to the hotel. Then I was notified by the older white guy that works the front desk with the long hair that they would not rent to me anymore , when I asked why they blamed it on my pet claiming that my room smelled like dog earring. The whole hotel is full of drug addicts and dogs always been staying here for years and never had an issue with a room smelling up until now, after being harassed by the west Des Moines police , and speaking with the sergeant and filing a complaint and preparing a racial profiling lawsuit. As soon as I check out of the hotel, I’m not Rent to anymore. I do a business in the area and a local professional did not appreciate being accused of leaving the room nasty even though I do have three dogs that definitely did not have always clean after my pets and they know that that’s why they have allowed me to stay there often on for this long of a time with Three dogs. I found out when the guy said that I cannot call him a liar because I told him my room did not smell like dog urine that he would DNR because of his personal issues that me having three dogs is now a issue. According to him hotel policy says I can only have two when they rent it to me every other time with my three dogs with no problem and have seen me take my dogs out often with no problem, I recorded several of the encounters with the employees because I felt like something like this would happen one day. I am speaking with my attorney about filing a hotel right now same as I did against the west Des Moines police. I was being harassed in the area, because the police officer claimed to smell marijuana after following me for several blocks, and approaching me, for no reason. The officer found nothing, and had to call his sergeant and apologize for harassing me yet I was on all the cameras at the hotel, being harassed and watched by, the employees including the races, white guy who Den me for telling him that I know my room was cleanNoteworthy details: I think it also upset the employees that I begin booking my room online instead of paying more to book in person or over the phone. They seem to be irritated by that as well. I have it all recorded.

Clean, staff was great. Pool needs to be taken down. Not working. But decent room for the price.

Safe enough area, good location for the Jordan Creek area businesses. Attentive front desk staff. Pictures on google could use updating. Planned to add some, however the construction noise chased us out in the morn.Note: Currently under renovation. Workers start about 8:30am, expect noise and much elevator traffic. Pool is not operating, to which made not a difference here, though for some it may.Older worn out feeling mattress in this particular room. Humid wet, wet animal odor to the room that took a good overnight to dry out with a/c and reach a normal temp by morning. Room was a bit unfinished; window was unlocked and no screen if that matters to you, desk/closet was not one made with area to fit the microwave/refrigerator (I’ve stayed at multiple Motel 6 and know of how this should be). Seems they are working with rooms that are available, and adjusting to fit the guest request as best they can. It’s Motel 6, a 2 star hotel.

My son and I stayed a week immediately after the painting/remodeling. I was apprehensive about the smell the first night but overall the stay was very good. The staff including Ceon at the front desk and Isabella in Housekeeping were very responsive to our needs. In terms of affordability, location, security & cleaniness of the rooms Motel 6 met our basic needs and was a good value. Thank you.

We stayed here because it is next to the hotel my daughter was in, but they had no vacancies. It was getting remodeled but still not a bad deal. All the staff were very friendly. It was very early when we arrived and they let us check in for a little extra.

We were in town for Jr. Olympics. The nice thing about this location is that they did not engage in the price gouging that many hotels participated in due to a large event being in town. They did maintain a reasonable rate. Also, it is located fairly close to several restaurants and shopping areas. However, the hotel was filthy to say the least. I must say our room was clean but the rest of the hotel was disgusting. In addition there was 1 front desk clerk (male) who was EXTREMELY rude. He definitely needs some customer service training. Also, there was construction going on so lots of banging and fumes. The internet was spotty at best and the light in our bathroom stopped working on day 3. The most concerning was the gentleman who was clearly high on something sitting in the foyer when we arrived from an event 1 evening. We left early and opted for an overpriced stay with consistent internet and a clean environment.

For this motel newly being remodeled the room should not have had a very strong cat odor. Them filters In them ac units aren't there just for looks. Take them out and clean them so they can keep serving a purpose.

Avoid this place! Our first room had a defective door. It wouldn't lock when leaving so we were given another room. There is no coffee maker in any room. No hair dryer. The floors are sticky and the entire building felt dirty.Rooms: Our room was dirty. No coffee maker. No hair dryer. Minimum outlets. No cell charger outlets.Safety: We couldn't lock our door when leaving our room.Food & drinks: There is no lobby. Just 2 over priced vending machines by the front desk. This place is horrible!

Rooms are clean but a little aged. They are remodeling it right now so it will be a vast improvement. Friendly staff
