Came to the store at 7:45 pm. The bakery was closed and dark. I asked someone in deli if she could help me get a cookie. I was told matter of fact only if you want bread. Not friendly. No smile. Different culture than I have experienced in Hy-Vee at other locations. I was more disappointed in her lack of manners than the bakery being closed. Maybe it's time for some coaching.

We ordered catering from them and they forgot the order, when they finally got someone to help us they sent us home with cold food (food safety hazard) we also have had issues with food being expired that we purchase from this location and all do the bakery/pre made food always has sticky stuff on the outside, look unclean and are sometimes open.
We stopped going to this location because the issues kept piling up.

When there are staff that can assist with things, they should. I appreciate the one gal that helped me today (wasnt her area & she offered to learn) & the guy working in cheese island (that found me help as others either just stared at me or ignored the page for help).
Kitchen area & mgmt earn this a 1 star. And it's not improving. It might for 2 weeks then it's terrible again. Hire more bartenders!

Store is clean, deli was great, but coming from Michigan, the prices in Iowa are crazy. Without exaggerating I’d spend at least 20-30% less on groceries at Meijer than I would Hy-Vee. That’s why I have to dock a star. Even corn was 12/$8, we are in Iowa, it should be basically free!

If this is the West Des Moines location right off the highway; it's damn near an ideal Hy Vee
No Wahlburgers and the restroom is cramped but otherwise...all the items I want.

Since we moved here hats off to the kitchen people and resturant people for makeing our dinner azaming night. WOW only 10 bucks what a deal and two sides and a soft yum dinner roll azaming yum mac cheese and potoes are great oh thats a special only on Thurs Thank u also for the delicous bisquiet and gravey great price Love those deals The employes are nice great smiles and great services thanks for makeing me my husband night again a great night If your in the eare check this Hy-vee out Thanks Cat and Tony

Well, it’s really a great store, clean and neat with very nice people who I see all the time and they always say “Good morning” and chat, if they can. (I like to shop early). The trouble is they hide their prices on some items because, yep, grocery prices are too high these days. So that’s the only issue, which is not their fault! And I will and do buy those items anyway (like dips, for example). It’s kinda silly. Like we don’t notice. Ha! But what do you do? It’s the way things are. :)

Coming here on a Monday morning is a joke. Prices are constantly incorrect. Staff blames it on "last week's ad," and acts like it's a huge annoyance to adjust the price. Normal practice would maybe be to adjust signage before opening? Even trying to use the Hy-vee app is dumb, because the prices on it are so different than what's in the store. Hy-vee in general has really gone down the tubes.
