I had to switch to a hyvee from the specialty pharmacy due to a change in insurance. I had to have my shot sent to a hyvee because of this change. I was very reluctant to do so because every single hyvee pharmacy in the metro has TERRIBLE reviews. My reservations were absolutely spot on. My prescription was sent to this hyvee (as it is closest to my house/ route to work). It was sent in in JULY and the prescription was set to be filled so it would be ready in August. This gives ample time for them to get a prior authorization from the provider and have it processed through the insurance. Hence why it was sent in so early. Instead, as soon as they received my order the prescription was canceled. Nobody called me, no email was sent to me, no text. No communication to let me know I needed to follow up about this issue. I called in on the 6th to check on my prescription and they let me know it was canceled. I’m now 2 weeks without my shot because they never even attempted to send in the request for the prior authorization and it takes time for the insurance to accept it. They left me high and dry without a very important medication with no apology, no communication, and more important no explanation as to why they canceled the prescription in the first place. Terrible pharmacy, find a different hyvee if you have to fill with hyvee.

I switched pharmacies due to the prices being better for most of the meds in my family. But one thing I dislike is fills can take days to get filled. And prescriptions that I was able to get 90 day fills for elsewhere, Hy-vee doesn't do 90 day fills for. Between myself and my 2 kids I feel I'm in the pharmacy weekly. Where the other pharmacy, it was only maybe a couple times in the month. Multiple times the Dr. sends in a script for a refill on my sons med on Monday afternoon and still waiting until Saturday/Sunday for it to get filled. It has a refill restriction for like 28 days but it's not usually filled until day 30. When they've had it close to a week and usually takes me coming in to check on it on his last day of meds to get it before the next day when he needs it. This last time about 2 weeks ago, it was day 30 the day he had his last pill, and it took 2 trips and a call to our insurance by both us and the pharmacist in one day. And he was needing it for the next day as he had taken his last dose that day.

Senior citizens will be disrespected at this hyvee pharmacy by staff.

I recently switched to this pharmacy due to ease of location and because Walgreens no longer worked with my insurance. I dread monthly refills because of the constant back and forth I get from several employees. For instance, I had two refills pending. One became available so I picked it up and asked about the other. They said they could have it ready in 20 mins. I thanked them, but was on my way somewhere and couldn’t make it back until the next day. I let them know that. The next day I showed up for it and it was not ready and they were confused when I explained the interaction from the previous day. After three other people became involved they finally filled it while I waited. This isn’t unique. Nearly every time I need a refill I use the app and about 50% of the time it’s filled. The other 50 I don’t hear anything via text or on the app and have to call and they’re either out of the med and didn’t tell me or simply don’t have the request in their system from the app. I’ve used other hy vees in the area with no issues. Finally, the staff are mostly courteous, but I find myself avoiding going during weekday hours as one tech who works the drive thru is curt and seems confused every time I go through. I thought maybe it was me, but after reading other reviews I see that I’m not alone. I’ll likely begin driving out of my way to use a different hy vee going forward.

Incompetent is a good word. My son has asthma and we’ve run into constant problems getting his prescriptions in a reasonable amount of time. Most recently: new rescue inhaler and nebulizer prescribed after a couple of trips to the ER. Prescriptions were sent 4 days ago. With pushing, I got to drive 20 minutes away to a different pharmacy for the inhaler and I still have not received the nebulizer (nor a call). Don’t they have to fill an emergency medication like this or call the doctor?

Seems to be a similar trend of others experiencing the same thing I have.. medication never being ready or one particular pharmacist (I believe she is the manager) telling lies or making me wait longer then when my prescription can be filled, or telling me how much I should have left when I’m simply calling to start a refill process.. some of the team members are so so lovely but there is one in particular that seems to like to play games and make everyones lives miserable. It is a prescription! You can’t play games! I literally hate calling every single month to fill my prescription because Rhonda makes me feel so uncomfortable about something I have prescribed regularly. She has zero customer service and I am to the point where I think she enjoys messing with me so I have had to specifically ask for another pharmacist to take my call. Either way they will never fill my prescription without me calling even tho it is already on file.. but then Rhonda seems annoyed that I call to see if it is ready but they don’t fill it without me calling so why is she always so annoyed when I call to see if it is ready! I’m happy to read these reviews and see that other people are experiencing the same thing I have been for MONTHS now..

Some people there are not so nice. Others are fine. They don’t really stay on top of my monthly prescriptions, so often run out. When I get prescribed something at the doctor they never fill it until I call and bug them. Had a horrible migraine and they didn’t manage to fill my prescription for a couple days. Whenever I am sick and need a med quickly it seems to take at minimum 24 hours. Sometimes less but they never start working on it until I call and bug them about it. It’s the 28th and the lady yesterday tried saying I couldn’t get a refill because I got 10 pills on the 5th…much longer than 10 days ago. And she wasn’t very kind about it. They don’t seem to really care about people running out of meds. Kinda scary depending on what you take. Only go because it’s nearby. Also drive thru line is usually fairly quick.

I’m assuming the reason this pharmacy is hiring is because all the long time current staff are miserable human beings. Customer service is nonexistent. Y’all should do better or change careers because you’re making customers change pharmacies and any potential employees want to go anywhere else.

Called Thursday 11/2/23.. When you have a refill ready for pick up, bc one pharmacist said that my medicine is in stock and ready for pick up.. you trust them or you should trust them, right? No..Wrong. I called two days later on 11/4 bc pharmacist said my script would be ready…. Just called hyvee pharmacy up and a different pharmacist answered and said oh no, your medicine is on back order, try calling back Monday to see if it’s in stock. But the medicine should have been ready Thursday 11/2.. Would give zero stars to this exact pharmacy if I could. They tell lies, never have certain medicine in stock when they say they do. Never filled on time. Not one but two different medicines I’ve had to go without for days on end whenever my doctor calls it into the pharmacy to get it filled. This is super frustrating. I’m going over a week and some days with my diabetic medicine!

This is the best pharmacy I have ever dealt with. I have been using this location for 20 years and I used a previous Hy-Vee pharmacy before this one for 10 years. They are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Always quick service even if I bring a prescription and wait for it or drop in for a vaccination. They are also great about helping me find the least expensive way to buy my prescriptions.
