Shopping today at the HyVee store in Cedar Rapids Iowa on Mt Vernon Rd. I was very angry at the service I received from the up front manager. She was a heavy set black women with a very bad attitude. I was holding out my perks card,, she grabbed it from me with force and then instead of handing it back to me she slammed it down for me to pickup. That was the last straw. I think I spoke with a manager, but not sure. Very young and looked at me like I was crazy. I feel she should be fired. This is not the first time I have complained about her to management. Nothing ever get done. If I go back to that store and see her there I will leave and tell everyone that this store is the worst place to shop. I fine it very sad because I use to work at the store.

This shopping trip happened at the Hyvee on south Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls SD. From the customer service to the cafeteria which has a Walburgers, the staff I encountered that day were rude. Two ladies in the customer service department were kind but the gentleman working in the same area was being unfriendly and unhelpful . I wanted to send a package, they usually help me by taping the box I fill it with the contents of what I’m shipping and off it goes, but this day he was annoyed to have to help and he said he didn’t have any tape, but I could use the scotch tape he had….. I said you don’t have shipping tape he blandly said no. Which is fine but usually they just help me and are very nice about it, not today, I had to go buy shipping tape so I could tape the box so it was suitable for shipping. SCOTCH TAPE? Really, I also wanted to break a fifty dollar bill to add to a card the bartenders on her phone and directed me else where to break the bill, when I got to that station and I asked to break it she barked NO and said it would leave her short, which makes absolutely no sense. But ok. Staff was unfriendly and seemed like they couldn’t be bothered, I definitely was interrupting the bartenders phone time. And the male manager o duty had probably worked there one too many years, maybe time for new job. I’m definitely going to reach out to Walburgers also.

I would like to acknowledge the excellent customer service I observed at Lamoni Hy-Vee. The gentleman who carried my groceries out, on an icy January day, could have immediately gone back into the store, but noticed an elderly couple parking on the other side of the lot. He walked clear over to their car and assisted the woman as she struggled. He offered his arm to steady her, and walked her into the building, safely. I was so impressed that he noticed a need, and jumped in to assist. His first name is Danny but I would prefer not to post his last name here. If management would contact me I would gladly share. We need more citizens like Danny and I would like him to be recognized. Hy-Vee is lucky to have him!

2-18-2024: Gretna, NE. Sunday afternoon @ 4pm. The parking lot is 2/3 full and I stop in to buy a couple of items, even though they are 25% more expensive than driving 4 more miles to a box store I won't mention. There are 3 ful service check-outs open. There are 25 self service registers, of which 3 are open with 13 people in line. 2 of those have large orders in process, and it's obvious we are going to be waiting a while. The youth supervising the bull-pen explained that they need 1 associate to handle every 3 registers. I should also mention during pre-Thanksgiving, I picked up a $48 Cure 81 ham and asked the meat department if they could slice it for me, and was told, "No, we don't have a slicer in the Meat department". I understand the P&L issues involving a store of this size, but I expected better from you. I haven't purchased meat there since, and it will be a while before I return again. This isn't a rant, because I want you to succeed, even if it seems you are just interested in ROI than investing in the community. Thank you.

I've never had problems at the food section of the store but I loathe the fact that they are replacing most of the cashiers with do it yourself machines. First of all it is not easier for the customer, mabey for the store because that's less people on their payroll. I after seeing an article on Facebook at how many customers have been accused of stealing because of them will not use self checkout. I do not work for hyvee so I will not check out my own groceries.its not my job to do so. If you go through one of these and you think you scanned an item and the computer doesn't come up with it you but you put in the cart thinking it scanned,I dunno mabey you are not paying attention you; can literally be arrested and at the very least made to feel like a criminal.so many stores are going this route. If hyvee ever takes away all the cashiers I won't shop there anymore..

NEVER shop at HyVee in Madison on Whitney Way. Their meat manager chews tobacco while he works. Another employee, Shannon, yells at her coworkers. They take outdated chicken, season it with BBQ, and put another week on it for sale. Terrible service at the registers. Employees sit on chairs while they check you out. A lot of employees wear ear buds. You'll wait at the deli counter for 20 minutes. Oh, and they don't wear hats or hair nets in the deli. Their kitchen reheats food day after day. The restaurant is disgusting. The bathrooms are always filthy. Theres never any employees on the sales floor to help customers.Did I mention the meat dept sells outdated chicken with BBQ seasoning on it? Gross

I had 2 returned checks written in the Sheldon store- one on June 21 and another on July 19. A letter was sent to me on September 28 advising me of that and included a $30 service charge for each. In the meantime they continued to accept checks from me. I filled a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Sheldon store manager’s response indicated that they were unaware of the situation and falsely stated that they had repeatedly contacted me which they did not do. I contacted them and was told rather harshly by the accounting manager that I would pay the total amount in cash or I would no longer be allowed to write checks in any Hy-Vee store. Avoid their stores unless you want to be another victim!

Super disappointed with the lack of nutrition information listed for ALL cooked/baked items at Hy-Vee. When I asked for this information at the Marshalltown location, none of the workers (including managers) could provide this information and our business was taken elsewhere. I work with clients that have specific dietary needs and it’s disheartening having to tell them Hy-Vee can’t accommodate them on their meal after they chose to go there. Fix the website so we can actually submit questions and comments too.

Hi, I sent an email in regards to your requirement for Birth Year for Perks application. You replied wanting documents of deceptive pricing. That was not my question
