I travel for work and stay in a lot of hotels and have never experienced hotel wifi this bad. I get kicked offline every single day while playing games and I lose my progress and have to start over. I also have had fridge issues where it randomly stopped working in the middle of the night and I had to throw over 100 dollars worth of food and meat away. I don't recommend this hotel for long term stays. There are times also where I have trouble sleeping with the amount of noise I hear from other rooms and rooms above me. I don't know if it's the thin walls or what, but you will definitely hear other patrons.

We arrived at 10pm after a long drive. We grabbed a pizza on our way to eat in our room. We had to be up at 5am to get home for a morning church obligation, and we had a 3 1/2 hour drive ahead of us. We unpacked and ate and we were hoping that the loud music across the parking lot would stop soon so we could get some sleep. At 11:30pm we gave up and called the front desk. A very nice person, Terrill, offered to move us just a few doors down the hall on the same floor. He said we should not have been put in that south side room. The nightclub across the parking lot is loud with speakers outside on the rooftop deck. Even though it was cold and no one was on the deck, the music was extremely loud. We moved and got a decent sleep and we’re thankful for Terrill! If you stay at this hotel stay away from the south side, it’s ridiculously loud and the City should not allow this to happen next door to a hotel.

The element West Des Moines is one of my favorite properties. I have stayed in both their studio and suite room types and have never been disappointed. My favorite part about this hotel is the nightly manager's reception. Pour your own tap beer and wine along with light appetizers are served next to the lobby in a lounge area in the early evenings. Breakfast at the Element is complementary and one of the better hotel breakfasts out there. Typically there is someone who cooks a daily special to order for guests. The hotel location is very walkable with restaurants and retail.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Element West Des Moines hotel during a business conference, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine smile from the staff, setting the tone for a fantastic stay. The rooms at the Element West Des Moines were incredibly spacious and impeccably clean. As someone who values comfort and cleanliness, I was thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail in maintaining the rooms. The bed was comfortable, the linens were fresh, and the overall ambiance was inviting and relaxing. It truly felt like a home away from home. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's convenient location. There were numerous restaurants within walking distance, offering a wide variety of cuisines to suit any palate. Whether I was in the mood for a quick bite or a leisurely dinner, I had plenty of options to choose from. This made my stay even more enjoyable as I could explore the local culinary scene without having to venture too far.Another delightful aspect of the Element West Des Moines was the daily happy hour. We loved everything about this hotel! They had so many amenities in the room like fridge, microwave, hot plate, utensils, everything. I've never seen a breakfast bar like this one! They had a whole yogurt station to make you a fruit bowl along with the normal eggs and turkey sausage you would find elsewhere. A group of kids were playing the Wii in the lounging area and I even saw two beers on tap. Very happy to see the wheelchair ramp going down into the lounge area. Great set up. Will be looking for more Elements to stay at in the future.

Breakfast wasn't the greatest compare to other Marriotts I stayed at. I stayed for 5 nights. I had zero housekeeping service. When I talk to the front desk , their system said that the changed my towels on the third day (which they didnt) my 5th day they came by and I was still sleeping and told them to come back later. I came back couple times and nothing was done. So I ran into them and ask them to please service my room. The looked at there paper and said that someone put new towels. I escorted them to the room and showed them no towels have been changed or trash since I have stayed here. I asked them to change sheets, was told they don't do that.

They charged me 3 times the weekend I stayed mid June that should have been 1 charge. I still am dealing with them recharging me when they said they had accidently charged my acct for the next room that checked in due to a processing error. I now have to close my account with my bank I've had for 18 yrs because they will not correct it and keep recharging. It was a terrible headache to deal with that weekend during my daughter's softball tournament and still continue to try to resolve.

Stayed here for the second time and my experience was far less appealing than last year. To start upon check in I was charged more than I was last year even though it was supposed to be the exact same deal as last year when my entire family stayed. The other thing is charging, if you have an EV this hotel only has 1 charger, it’s rather slow, and people lack consideration to move in the mornings/nights to shuffle some cars to it. In Colorado almost every hotel I stay at has a minimum of 2 and usually has more like 4 chargers. I have to leave for Colorado this morning with a battery under half because some ford has been plugged in for 16+ hours. My room was was nice and I have very little complaints other than the shower door squeaked so loudly upon opening it I thought I’d wake the other rooms. And from water or whatever, the grout should honestly be redone.

The Element West Des Moines location is an outstanding hotel, and I have stayed in many. The front desk and housekeeping staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, and the hotel is one of the most inviting and comfortable that I’ve had the pleasure of staying at.The breakfast has a full complement of hot and cold offerings, including custom-made egg dishes. If that wasn’t enough, in the evenings, they hook up the beer taps and it’s free beer for all guests.

Great clean place! Rooms are quite spacious and the lobby is very modern and bright. They had some bread out for the happy hour, but on this particular stay the beer and wine taps were out. Literally everything else was phenomenal!
