This has become my go to hotel when I’m in Des Moines. The staff is amazing! I’m always struck by how kind everyone is. The rooms are quiet and clean and it has everything I need. Stevie, is an amazing front desk staff. She remembers my name and greets me with a smiling face every time I come! Thank you for the comfort experience.

Had room 203 for two days. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was one of the most spartan suites I've ever seen. Handles missing in the shower door, handles missing from furniture. No table and chairs and two small desks. Trim was falling off the closet door and even the remote had the backing electrical taped to it. We heard very step of our neighbor upstairs too.It was underwhelming to say the least. I'm used to better conditions from the Comfort Inn brand and clearly this one was built in the 2000-2010s and hasn't been touched room wise, since that time. I will be staying elsewhere next time I'm in Des Moines.

Close to stores, places to eat and easy to get to. Comfy bed, clean room. Breakfast was great and the employees were very nice. Especially the woman taking care of the breakfast area.On the weekend we stayed there was a soccer tournament and the walls are thin. Kids running up and down the halls screaming. There are camera's at the front desk, so when I called they were on it already. Will stay again next time I'm in the area.Walkability: Hotel is on a major road, but there are sidewalks. There is a side road that seemed a little quieter though.Food & drinks: Starbucks in the connected parking lot and a grocery store is across the street. There are several restaurants within driving distance as well.

Decent enough hotel. Floors are loud. When you walk they are noisy down below you. Mildew on the curtain. Makes you wonder if the air conditioner is blowing clean air or what since it's below the curtain.

HORRIBLE customer service from front desk, to GM, to corporate. LONG story short, my young child and his father were stuck in the elevator. We were told to wait 25+ mins for the repair man to arrive. Knowing my son was freaking out, I called the FD who quickly got them out. Front desk was irate we called 911, pointed their fingers at us for it getting stuck, and never apologized or attempted to rectify the situation. You cannot reach anyone of authority through the corporate office. Good customer service is hard to come by these days but this was by far the worst I've dealt with in a long time. DO NOT STAY HERE!

I see there's no shortage of whiners in Iowa, lol. It's like I never left California. Yelpers can be down right nasty At first I wasn't sure but while checking in, the woman was more than helpful, very polite, had a nice positive attitude. The room was spotless, water pressure was good and I even had a ground floor room so I could keep an eye on my truck. I've read all the shitty reviews and have come to the conclusion that people are simply full of shit. I wish all hotels were like this.

I trust Comfort Inn and Suites and this hotel reinforced that. When I checked in and asked about restaurants in the area the desk lady was very helpful and gave me 4 options written on paper. My room was clean and the shower spacious. I did not use the pool or fitness room, but peaking into the fitness room I saw the various cardio machines, some dumbbells, and an adjustable bench (hey it's a hotel not a Gold's Gym). Breakfast was simple but still good. They have the basics from yogurt, cereal, toast, muffins, eggs, sausage, and waffles. Coffee and water are complimentary at all times of the day and night.

Our family and friends stayed at this hotel on Saturday, January 14th. The evening front desk lady was horribly rude to our friends. Sparky and unhappy. Around 10pm she left and an older gentleman was working, he was worse. Very rude and told our group that the lobby closes at 10:30pm however NOTHING is posted anywhere about the lobby closing. We found out after we checked in that the pool wasn't working and hasn't been for a couple of months however NOTHING is posted on website saying the pool isn't working. Our toilet was clogged, we had to ask for a plunger to unclog the toilet. There was a large gap in our window which was causing cold air, our room was only 55 degrees. The heater didn't work. We have 4 children so it was not a pleasant night.Very unhappy with this hotel, I would NOT recommend at all!!!!

Check in and everything was fine room was clean as far as beds are made and clean to the normal eye. But for what we payed for the 2 rooms we got we expected when on their website it said heated pool we got to the pool and it was ice cold because it was broken we were told after we payed and got our rooms and the fitness center ins consisting of 1 elliptical 1 treadmill 1 bike elliptical and there were two other ellipticals but they didn’t work and the only other equipment is 8 dumbbells from 5-30lbs for price we expected more and a warning the pool heater is not working because it was a boring time there because of nothing to do it’s not that hard to give a heads up warning on the thing that don’t work that are included in the price overall I wouldn’t pay extra for a pool or gym if they aren’t working hope they fix soon and this message helps get them fixed

This hotel looks nice, smells nice, has very spacious rooms. But the management are jerks. When we checked in, the first thing they told us is kids under 18 cannot be in the pool unattended. Also a nice nasty gram on the pool door that says "ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED IN POOL AREA. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE."The day we checked out, I called the front desk to verify our rewards points would be credited to our account, and the attendant said, "we also noticed you snuck a dog in." I was LIVID. We didn't sneak him in, we walked him in the front door in our arms when we checked in. No one said a word. I called in advance of making the reservation through Travelocity and asked if service pets were allowed. I was told yes. Which is why we brought him. The lady was a total b*tch about it. Asked me "who" I talked to....like I know?Management is absolutely ridiculous!

Walked into lobby and was met by two women at the desk. The lady who took care of me was wearing a tshirt that said "Because I said so" . Not the best welcome after a long day of travel. Asked where we could find a good place to eat and was told "over the bridge", not much help. The hotel was not very clean, rugs are worn and dirty. The walls are damaged in the hallways, and in our room. Food and litter in the lobby floor. Water with ice dispenser was empty in the lobby area and again spilled sugar and garbage on the counter. That area should never be ignored! Our room was large as was the bathroom. Our air conditioner did not work properly, we had it at 67 degrees and it was warm in our room. The hallways were cooler! We would turn it lower, it would go on for two minutes and stop. Shower was ok, bed was comfortable. Windows were filthy with little hand/fingerprints and shower had some sort of brown splatter/drops on the white wall tile, ewwww! Breakfast, which is free, was ok. We usually see more variety, especially on weekend stays. Eggs and sausage were fresh, hot and tasted very good. Fruit was old looking and hard boiled eggs were peeled and not in a wrapper. Overall, I would not stay again or recommend.

Do not stay here if you are a travel team! The lady is rude, and not welcoming to teams and their families. Terrible customer service!

Nothing like staying for travel baseball and they say you can't have drinks outside of your room. This hotel was a stay to play hotel. If you didn't want families hanging out together drinking "because you don't have a liquor license" even though they don't sell any alcohol at the hotel, should have been disclosed up front, not upon arrival. Had we known this, the team would have stayed elsewhere. The fact that they host multiple teams a weekend and didn't know what to expect when you have adults traveling for sports is absurd. You are willing to take the booking for these events, but obviously have now clue what to expect. One of or other parents stayed at another comfort inn on the other side of town with no issues hanging out with adult beverages.

The sink was clogged and drained super-slowly. I spent two nights and nobody came to refresh the room (no coffee replacement from what I used the first day, etc.). I shouldn't have to call to complain about these things. The sink issue should have been known by the housekeepers, and housekeeping should visit daily to refresh coffee packets, etc. In addition I called the front desk the night before and got an OK for an additional hour late checkout for the next day. The front desk asked me to call the next morning "to remind them". What ??? So I did and they said OK again. Prior to my extra hour for checkout I got a very loud banging on my door telling me I have to check out. They went away after I told them I had approval for late checkout. The man said no one told him told him. All of this together is unacceptable. I won't return to Comfort Inn.

The worst hotel ever. No service at all. Stayed two nights, would not clean up or give new towels for the next day. Had to go down to the lobby to get more towels. We're in our room when we left for the day, and the door was open. No security or service at all. Never stay here.
