I have been using Boelman Shaw for several years. I have a complicated return and appreciate the care and accuracy they provide. May not be the least expense, but well worth the cost.

They have the worst customer service ever. They claim they own the parking lot when they share it with other companies. They are rude, and I would never support their business because of this one verbally harassing transaction.

Prices are getting unreasonable. A family with W2's and a 1098 should not be a bare minimum of $400 that is insane!

Highly recommend! They were fast, professional, and found an error with our taxes from the previous year that a different company missed. We called back with some questions several months later and they answered promptly and are great to work with. Thank you!

2020 taxes done incorrectly which was caught by the IRS. Preparer didn't bother checking the state side until I checked them myself which were also done incorrectly. Switched to a new firm for 2021 and he caught an additional error on my 2020 taxes. In all the errors by Boelman-Shaw resulted in about $8000.00 being refunded back to me.When I confronted Boelman-Shaw to be reimbursed for the errors it falls on deaf ears and no one will return my calls. Very disappointed in this firm and obviously do not recommend them!!So the response back is we would have corrected your return at No Charge. Nobody knew there was an error until i had another CPA firm redo my taxes. So i am suppose to tell the CPA that found the error don't file the amendment and i won't pay you for finding the error because i will go back to Boelman Shaw to correct it for free. WOW!!!

Do not stand behind their work. CPA made an error on the federal side only checked the state side after i found that mistake for my 2020 taxes. Went to another CPA firm because of the mistakes for this year. He reviewed the 2020 taxes and discovered another error by Boelman Shaw. I requested a refund or partial refund for the errors since i paid my new CPA to redo my 2020 taxes and Boelman said no because they would have amended the taxes for free. The error was discovered by my new CPA so how could they have fixed it? What a Joke!!! In all Boelman Shaw had a $8000.00 error on my taxes. Do not recommend Boelman Shaw!

FIRED! First year they missed a W-2. Okay, mulligan. This year (3rd year) I didn't get my taxes completed until April 18th at 5 PM. Found out at that time I needed to send in a check. I rush to the only post office open after 5 in DSM. Then, after I sent in my check and looked back over the documents that were filed, my taxes were filed incorrectly and I should NOT of needed to send in a payment after all. And of course, during and after filing my taxes you can't get any type of communication. Zilch. I was already done with them however I asked them to help with another form which they charged me $250 for. Fine. Paid it, signed it, sent it. OMG they didn't get my ID entered correctly on the form and dropped a digit. Death and Taxes they say. I guess business is so good they don't need to really care.

From the 90's thru tax year 2019 Mr. Tax/Boelman Shaw provided me with great tax services. But my 2019 return was incomplete when it was filed by BS. The IRS caught the error in 2020 and after 12 months of worry, faxes, forms, phone calls AND $800 in fines and interest my 2019 return was finally finalized. That was my last year with BS

Impossible to get any one to get back to me through their website, email, or phone. I like the all-in-one tax and financial services they offer that no one else does here, but it is impossible to talk to anyone. Lost a customer at this point.

I was fortunate that when I met my husband, he was going to the same place (Mr. Tax then) and when we filed together for the first time, I went to Mary w/ him. She's amazing and I would follow her anywhere. I think the rate is a bit high, but I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. We've never had any issues.
