I usually stay here when I visit people in Waterloo but I'm not sure I'll continue after this recent visit.
I knew the hotel would be under construction, and that part was fine. We got one of the redone rooms. It's clear the rooms were done fast, because it's not done well. Fixtures and coat hooks all crooked, pieces of unfinished trim sticking out, and the French drain cover in the shower was upside down. There was apparently a sign somewhere in the lobby stating housekeeping was only every other day, but I didn't see that, and I was dismayed to come back late at night to find the washroom in the same state as that morning, with no new towels. Our tissue box had 2 tissues in it when we checked in, never replenished. The side door - using this over construction - is locked after 10pm and I suspected the room key on the app wouldn't work on that door so we got physical cards. Which also didn't work. The hallways, for some reason, were absolutely frigid in the mornings, like someone left a window open.
But the most concerning part was that the room doors do not fully close behind you. We'd come back to the room, took showers and went to bed before I got up for something and noticed the light from the hallway coming in and saw that the door was ajar. I pushed the door shut and locked it, but I wouldn't have even noticed it if it hadn't been dark enough to have seen the light coming in from the hallway. When we left early the next morning we walked past 4 more guest room doors which were all slightly ajar. This is a security issue. Why don't the guest room doors close behind you? I'm guessing because they weren't installed properly in this remodel, because the older rooms' doors fully closed. I'm usually traveling solo, so a door which should close behind you and doesn't presents a significant security threat. For this reason, I don't anticipate staying at this Hampton Inn again.

Overall it’s an ok value. The living area of the room was clean and recently redone, but the backboard of the dresser was loose and hanging forward, with the TV mounted to it. The shower had a few hairs in it and wasn’t wiped down well from previous guests. The coffee in the lobby was cold and stale all morning.
The breakfast, however, was very good!
The folks working the desk were great!
And overall the room and lobby were more than acceptable. Just a few hindrances here and there that put it toward the bottom of Hilton branded hotels I’ve stayed at.

Overall, it was a great place. Clean, friendly staff, awesome breakfast options, something for everyone. The pool was closed due to remodeling. Bed was comfortable. However, the mattress cover had blood stains and pink marker on it. I brought it to Sue at the front desk , and she didn't seem to surprise me, but thanked me for informing her. I didn't make a big fuss because I always bring my own bedding. But a discount or a credit for a future Hilton brand would have been nice. I give a 9/10.

This place is under remodel construction, aside from that the room was not clean. Soap scum in the shower. I reserved a King bed but it came with horrible mini pillows. The side door to the hotel did not lock. Now I'm on hold with Hilton to try and get a receipt. The person answering the phone was not understandable, waiting for someone to speak English.

Evening clerk and night clerk did not provide good service. The morning shift lady was much better. Had multiple issues with keys no longer working to our room. Digital key never worked. The room was a little outdated, but clean. Breakfast was standard. Basically, when we come back to this city, we will choose a different hotel.

Love the size of the room. I will say there are lots of hotels of the same caliber around. The hospitality here is great!! We prefer to stay here over others around. Chris was extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you to him for improving our stay. Carol was very friendly too!

I never had a bad experience at the Hampton Inn, and this place was no different. The rooms are very clean, the breakfast filling, the staff friendly.
