“An amazing thrift store where I always find something I want! Everything here is always so interesting and fun to look at. I did take one star off because I do feel like some items are priced too high but overall this store is amazing. Honestly, it's my favorite in des moines!”

“Petals & Moss is so lucky to be under the ownership and creative direction of Shawntel Noel, self-taught plant enthusiast! The shop has a fresh new vision and I am excited to see how P&M grows under her leadership. I also have a feeling I will be acquiring more plants, pots, etc.!!!”

“Favorite vintage store in DSM and they are so nice there. They usually buy my vintage stuff for great prices and also have a sweet selection of items! I'm from DSM and live in NYC and it's really a better store than most I've seen in NYC!!”

“Great place for consignment clothing....Update, ... So, I actually dropped off some clothing items to be consigned at the Loft. They accepted three dresses. I understand the method, the clothing must be in season. I also had summer, clothing, one tote of professional dress items and two boxes of new sandals, still in the box, nope, they didn't accept them. I ended up loading all of this back in my car. My biggest thing is...I have no idea when my items, they did accept, are on the floor, since you don't get any acknowledgement, nothing. I continue to look in their online clothing, and nothing, my items are not listed. The items they "accepted" were three prom style dress, two of which were new, with tags still on them, yes three items, out of a laundry basket full. You must create an account, the consigned clothing items don't even show up in your account. I don't understand why they can't list your items consigned, in your account.Well, then they have you sign an agreement, that if they don't sell your items, they will donate them. So, how do I know that is actually happening, you don't!! Hmm, prob won't take the other items back, just so I can load them back into my car.”

“it was amazing! Worker there saw my interest in things and talked to me about them, he seemed interested in my interest and that made me happy. Alot of cool things, im definitely going again. I bought a slipknot record, slipknot patch, a horror movie, and he gave me a slipknot sticker free! There was soooo much more i wanted and would get if i could afford :)”

“Very cool place to shop if you appreciate sustainability and very friendly people. Vintage Levi’s paired with an amazing sweater, yes please. Awesome vibe and great selection.”

“Interesting store in an old factory or depot. Lots of neat stuff, prices were not unreasonable, staff was friendly. The floors are very uneven, probably due to the age of the building and it's original function, so anyone with mobility issues will have to be extra careful, but overall we liked it and will go back.”

“They have a TON of items that would be PERFECT for my daughters Homecoming outfit, but she is "top heavy" and most items from the Disco era just aren't made to accommodate large chested people. We didn't get the outfit, but walked out with some GREAT accessories! Plus Janelle (sorry about spelling) was SUPER helpful and friendly!!!! We will totally be back to finger through the racks of vinyl and anytime we need a period piece - because their stock is always changing!”

“I've had pretty good hauls from here. Selection is pretty large, and the store is well organized; not too cluttered but doesn't feel empty either. Also fantastic drop off system. One of the easiest places to donate in the Des Moines metro.”

“Got a senior discount on top of bargains. Lower level is huge! Definitely coming back. Mainly stopped because my shoes for a special event broke and I needed a quick fix. 2 blocks from our hotel it was super convenient too.”

“Since COVID, I hadn't been to Stuff Etc like I was in the good ole days so today was my first in a long while. The store had a lot to look at but it was displayed tastefully, not feeling chaotic and cluttered at all. Jewelry, clothes, hardware, bike rack, curtain rods, bedding were just some of the great finds. As if the great finds weren't enough, the staff went over the top. What was evident was that these people are happy with their jobs. They were all in great moods and went above and beyond to help.”

“Had no idea this one existed, I found out it's better than the other one in the area! The Plato's has a clearance section. I found pants my size marked 90% off I paid not even $5 for 3 pairs of jeans.”

“Brought in a large basket, they passed on some things that were brand name but they were summer items and the season is over so I understand. The buy was done quickly and staff was polite. Store was organized and neat looking. Will be back.”
