Do not use this company unless you would like to be scammed. They will not even bill your insurance but remove the money from your account. My husband is being double billed for services he was never able to use. He went in for a cpap (1st ever) and was given the wrong size mask and upon returning it they charged him for a brand-new mask stating they can't put it back on the shelf, so he has to pay for it. I could understand if he damaged it and needed a replacement or something like that. He had no idea what size he needed. He could not use it because it was the wrong size. Had they actually sized him they would've figured that out prior to him leaving. He returned everything within one week. He was assured he would not be billed anything. After a month they took a month's rent out and are now sending us bills monthly for another month's rent and charges for the supplies he didn't use. Our contract states if you return the items within 30 days there is no charge. He returned them in 7 days. Not to mention every bill is for a different amount owed and it does not even equal the balance shown. When you call billing, they laugh and say oops I'll send you out a new bill. If you call corporate, they will just transfer you around and eventually back to the location you had the issue with in the first place. Quality and value is really not their goal. It's easy to see why they have so few stars and why they had to change their name to try to improve their reputation. Guess its time for another name change.

Great service! Susan helped me with a knee scooter. She was very compassionate, patient and helpful. It was a busy place, but she didn't rush the process. I highly recommend NuCara.

My gf's mom recently moved into senior living in Ankeny and she needed a quality walker. Not the simple walker, but one with the seat and brakes, etc. We were out and about on our normal weekend routine and she mentioned it to me. I remembered there was a Hammer Medical supply store near where I live. We pulled in and I noticed the Hammer sign was gone. The medical supply store was still there, but it had been rebranded to NuCara Home Medical. We walked in, the place seemed empty, but a voice in the back called out greeting us. The desks where the staff sits are not directly in the front. One of them walked up to meet us and ask us what we were looking for. From there she took us through the walkers they stocked, their price points, features, warranty etc. Once my gf had selected one the process was pretty quick and painless. Except for when I had to load it up into her car... Lol The checkout process at the point of sale is thorough and they go through EVERYTHING with you, but my guess is that's normally what is needed for a transaction that requires insurance paperwork. We seemed like we might be an anomally for them...more like a straight retail sale. All in all a really good experience.

I had to come here for post surgery supplies. Upon walking in I was immediately greeted, by Bethany, and offered help right on the spot. She grabbed everything I needed and even offered to carry it out to the car for me. As a younger person needing a hip replacement, it meant a lot, because most just assume I’m capable because I’m younger. It made my day to know how much she cared, even if it was a little act.
