The Learning Post opened its doors in 1977 on 22nd street in West Des Moines. Owners Darlene and Bernard Miller, a principal and a teacher respectively, opened the store because educational materials were hard to find.The store was sold to Kym Howe in early 2015. With a MBA obtained in 2010 from University of Iowa and her retail and extensive technology experience as the former Senior VP of IT at Kum & Go for 17 years, new owner Kym Howe hopes to carry on the stellar reputation the store has earned since 1977!
