I would highly recommend Julie and her team at JYDesign. I have used Julie's services at my older home in the Waterbury neighborhood and when I recently moved to an open floor plan town home, Julie was there to help every step of the way. I needed her expertise for everything from paint colors, to new furniture, to kitchen and bath remodel, to art on the walls. It was an overwhelming task but Julie made it much easier. She really helped me make my vision for a tranquil, easy living space a reality.Julie and her team have been a joy to work with. My husband and I couldn't be happier with our new updated home.

Meet with JY Design if you are seeking great interior design service! Owner, Julie Youngblade, is creative and helps design your dream vision with you. There are a vast amount of fabric patterns, color choices, and furniture configurations; however, this may feel overwhelming and Julie guides you in the right direction so you can focus on what selections matter most to achieve your personal design style. I am very happy with our design for all furniture pieces, and they are great quality products! Julie is kind, personable, and is a true pleasure to work with. We have engaged JY Design for several projects over the last few years, from the very small (bedroom window treatments) to the very large (interior design for a first-floor remodel, including new furniture and window treatments). We even had them help us with outdoor furnishings after we updated our landscaping. In every case, we have been delighted with the results.I’ve worked most closely with Julie, but both Julie and Shelby are patient, creative, and fun to work with. I especially appreciate that Julie is a good listener and takes time to understand what we need and want for our projects. She and Shelby provide direction and ideas, but make sure the end results reflect our style and personalities.Remodels and home design can be overwhelming. Working with JY Design has made our home projects much more enjoyable, even in these times of shortages and shipping delays. We used JY Design in 2016 at a previous home and based on that experience reached out to them in 2020 when we were ready to embark on a major renovation at our new home. From start to finish Julie and Shelby have been professional, responsive and timely as we nearly gutted the main floor of our home. We had a few supply chain issues, but nothing significant, and they knew to order things early to meet our deadlines.The end result turned out beautifully, and their partnership with Remodeling Contractors is a bonus for anyone looking for expertise and efficiency in the home building/remodeling space. I first utilized JY Design several years ago when I was looking for window coverings for my master bedroom. It was a wonderful experience and I loved the result so when it came time to update several things in my thirty year old home they were the first design firm I called. Shelby and Julie were always quick to return a call or drop by the house for a consultation. They listened to me and took the time to determine my needs. They helped me add a beautiful custom beverage bar to the kitchen. They also updated a powder room and all of the flooring in the downstairs area. Flooring is something that I was particularly nervous about because it encompassed such a large area but Shelby assured me that the flooring would be beautiful and it ended up surpassing my expectations! My husband and I bought a new home which included a major remodel. Of the many “moving parts”, lighting was a big (and overwhelming) project. A friend suggested I contact Julie Youngblade (JY Design). Julie answered on the first call and listened to my plea for help! That would become just the beginning of ALL she and her partner Shelby did in making our house a home. Julie has such in depth knowledge of home construction and resources. She became my “go to” on all window coverings, some furnishings and furniture layout, tile, wallpaper, and as mentioned... lighting (true expert at that!). Her calm, confident and professional nature only enhances all that she brings to your home.... along with Shelby’s awesome assistance & input. We took on a lot with this makeover and I can’t imagine having done it without the expertise and ongoing involvement of these two designers (turned friends). HIGHLY recommend. BTW, never felt any pressure or commission type stress that many of us have experienced before. JY Design will save you money and time ... and you’ll meet 2 wonderful women!

Our last one was to update a few rooms and with a shift to working from home, Julie also made some recommendations to help us consider some flexibility and be comfortable with our home office situations. We are very happy with our master bathroom remodel! Julie and Shelby helped us choose our floor and shower tiles, accent tile, countertops and paint color. They also designed the look of the glass shower which is a huge improvement over our previous bathroom. Julie and Shelby make a great team to help with any home projects!
